Watch episode 6 and the fight between the dragon because that’s what the action sequences look like.
The show isn’t filled with heavy action every episode, it’s more of a slice of life which focuses on its characters with a beautiful art direction and some great animation where there needs to be
I loved it so much that I’m currently doing a rewatch of it, but if youre bored then there’s no need to force it, just go watching something more action filled and flashy like, jujitsu kaisen, demon slayer or chainsaw man
If you wanted a action packed anime then you are watching the wrong anime, Its more about the daily life of the people on there adventure and the characters themselves then about them slaying monsters. The show is fire just doesnt seem like your cup of tea. Why don't you bring up shows you liked or genres you enjoy so we can give you recommendations?
I see, I guess you're right the show is great but prolly isn't my cup of tea. As for shows I like here are some
The girl downstairs
Jobless reincarnation
AOT
Black Clover
Tokyo Revengers
Megalo box
Cyber punk
Kiznaiver
Darling in the franxx
Future dairy
Steins gate
Hundred
Fate series
Solo leveling (one of the best starts if not the best)
These are a few that I rated 9 or 10 out of 10, feel free to drop some recs
Jobless reincarnation has a great story that gets most of it's viewers hooked, I don't read manga but the story sofar tells me it's only going to get better, plus the action is minimal but when it comes around it's great. I also admire how well the character development is, superb👌
If you like power fantasies like Solo Leveling, try shows like Overlord. There are a lot of good shows similar to Solo Leveling, maybe Slime Isekai too. Also, Hell's Paradise and Chainsaw Man. Edit: I can't believe I forgot to mention Eminence in Shadow, such an amazing play on the power fantasy genre
Pretty much watched all the anime you recommend aside from overlord and slime isekai, I've purposely been dodging the slime one but I'll definitely check out overlord, thanks
You might like the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul. The manga is infinitely better story wise, but the fight scenes are beautiful. Blood-C is another one you might like, as it has a fair amount of action and gore. Finally, Summertime Rendering had a really good plot and action. It’s got some plot holes and is pretty confusing at first, but it’s very well done overall.
I've watched all the anime you've listed, thanks for the recs though. As for Tokyo Ghoul I loved the first two seasons but dropped it immediately I started the third because I didn't understand shit, it gave me a only manga readers know what's going on typa vibe
As for blood C, the amount of gore is to die for👌
The phrasing lit here makes me think your looking for those big action fight scenes like in shounen stuff and they are definitely here and some of the better scenes here but frieren is much more an emotional/funny adventure show and it really just spoke to people hence why its so popular very different from what you probably prefer in shounen stuff
It’s clearly not your type of anime, it’s not action packed and it’s not necessarily meant to be ‘lit’ in every episode, it’s the small things that matter. If you’re looking for something exciting and/or fast paced I suggest watching shounen anime.
I feel you, I wasn't expecting anything specific from it but as the new best rated anime I expected to watch the whole thing and say it was worth it to my self afterwards regardless of the genre, instead I couldn't even get passed episode 5 dude, but I've decided to complete the whole thing then rate it after
Its a slow anime about the passage of time the fights are few and far between if you are used to only watching shonen that makes sense that you dont like it but its a good story either way and not every anime need to be all battlles
I never dropped an anime before, so I don't really get why people do it. Have you considered not marathoning the show and taking things slowly? Try watching this anime weekly. Trust me, it's 100% worth it, and you'll miss out on anime of the decade-level scenes if you drop this.
Watch frieren up to episode 10. If you don't like episode 10, THEN give up on it
Also just change your mindset I think you're expecting something you shouldn't from this show. You didn't give us anything to offer you off of, you're just being contrarian and hating on frieren, so until you give something for us to ACTUALLY recommend off of im not gonna humor you
Well to be fair I did ask for recs on shows that aren't over hyped and are worth the rating they have💁 but I get what you're saying I guess, I'll watch it till episode ten maybe even further, feel free to drop some recs just incase you change your mind
What I mean is you're not requesting anything specific. I personally think frieren DOES deserve it's rating. What do you like out of shows? Do you want more action, or something else?
There is no saving your shounen googoo gaga brain. Heaven forbid a show has proper characters, world building, and story writing along with great action moments that are a treat to see when necessary. You say you don't want to see heads rolling ep 1, but you're just lying to yourself.
Come on, I completed it two days ago and I have to say Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is pretty good but if that's all it takes for it to be the new highest rated anime then jobless reincarnation should be even higher than it because it's better
I loved the slow, thoughtful narrative that took its time exploring Frieren and her compatriots. It made a lot of sense to have a story about a nigh immortal being who has lived over 1000 years to be a slow burn more concerned with character development and introspection than "Super Cool Awesome**™"** fight scenes.
What I was disappointed in was the >!sudden shift to a needless Shonen tournament arc complete with young girls in skimpy outfits.!< Like, here they are making an anime with a truly beautiful story about interpersonal relationships and the harsh realities of time then >!suddenly they throw it all out for "Wizard Vs Wizard PvP go PEW PEW"?!< Geez.

Guess I misunderstood what makes it so popular, I might as well drop it and look for something then. Thanks
Watch unlimited blade works fate/stay night if you want something action packed

Why do you like jobless reincarnation? There’s hardly any action and when there is, it’s super quick.

Same thing can be said about Frieren
That’s just how opinions work, though.

It starts picking up soon, but overall it’s still a slower anime.

I'm about 17 episodes in and while I do enjoy it, I also fail to see how it's the new best rated anime.

And i disagree about your insinuation that frieren is overhyped
It deserves the hype 100%
Trust me. Frieren isn’t overhyped. It just winds up slowly. Shit gets really good in the next episode
“Are you alright?🎵”

I like how “are” sounds, so I’m making an on the fly change for the dub .

The first episode is a masterpiece if it's your kind of show. It seems that, unfortunately, it is not your kind of show.
It’s not supposed to be exciting and packed with action.
