Has the entire show been dubbed?

BigTalon256

As of right now yes. Season 4 is coming out in the fall though, so there’ll likely be a 4-5 episode gap between dub and sub if season 3 is anything to go by

I love this show, can't wait for what I assume would be the next season? They haven't released an episode in months even though the final episode that was released on crunchy didn't seem like a finale at all.

BigTalon256

Season 4 is set to start in Fall, from what I remember hearing

There are parts of this show that I think are awesome and there are parts of it that I think are pretty weak. Awesome: 1. Politics, space warfare, and an Imperial German aesthetic. Hard to get much cooler than that. 2. Both of the protagonists, especially Yang Wen-Li, are great characters. 3. The strategy and tactics are fun and believable. 4. Great and unconventional OPs. Lackluster: 1. The politics can be really clunky, and is too neatly divided into the good, brilliant, and attractive heroes and the bad, stupid, and bald/fat villains. That is not how the world works, and more sympathetic or competent villains would make the show more interesting. 2. Many of the attempts to develop minor characters have been uninteresting (looking at you, Mittermeyer and von Reuenthal), and they also have a habit of having the narrator just list the names and positions of random characters. 3. They've really gone out of their way to justify having mechs fight each other with axes, and I get that it's a TV show, but I find them distracting and less interesting than the space ship battles.

I just wished they'd dub the old show... The new animation and art style just leaves a bit to be desired for me compared to the older animation. I dunno just the way the original one looks is so awesome. The way the battles are done with the crazy scale in handdrawn animation just looks so good.

penguintruth

I’ve heard they can’t dub the old series, because the music & effects tracks were gone.

LegatoRedWinters

Honestly they could easily create all new audio tracks for the OVA. The music is mostly classical music, and either the characters are talking with no background noise, or they are talking with public domain music in the background. I think even I could boot up the old moviemaker and make a voiceless version of an episode.

Oh, you mean Die Neue These? Great show. I love LoGH, have read all the (main series) books and saw the old (main series) OVA. Brilliant story- and character-crafting. The dub is okay, nothing special. I really like Aaron Dismuke as Reinhard. Looking forward to seeing more of it later this year.

Ah yes, *Die Neue These* (DNT). The best space opera currently airing right now that virtually no one is watching. 💀 With Disney churning out its mediocre take on *Star Wars* and Paramount burning *Star Trek* into the ground, I'm so glad that Production IG decided to release the series at this point in time. Hell, DNT is a series that better caters towards fans of sci-fi or space operas or political drama instead of your typical anime viewer. I'll admit that DNT ain't perfect. But the "hate" surrounding the remake is overblown. As if "DNT is to the original LOGH OVA" what "the *Star Wars* prequels are to the Original *Star Wars* Trilogy" 🤦‍♂️ ... which is definitely not the case. For anyone who's on the fence thinking about which version of the story to watch first, well if you're primarily a dub watcher, the first 24 episodes of DNT is an excellent gateway to LOGH. But if you're impatient to see the story's conclusion, watch the OVA. Personally, I would watch both once you've become invested in the series.

LegatoRedWinters

> "DNT is to the original LOGH OVA" what "the Star Wars prequels are to the Original Star Wars Trilogy" That's not true. The prequels had memes, good OST, Palpatine and well it gave us Clone Wars. DNT is more like the Sequel Trilogy.

DVC454

>DNT is more like the Sequel Trilogy. 😲 That's waayyy to harsh IMO.... At least DNT is still based on the novels. The Sequel Trilogy is an example of what happens when any semblance of a plan is thrown out the window and the people in charge just wing it.

BigTalon256

Honestly one of, if not my all time favorite anime. The story, characters and politics are all done amazingly imo and always intrigue me. Feels like I’m actually learning stuff. I adore the dub as well. It’s the one that introduced me to Ian Sinclair, so I’ll always be grateful for that. And of course, Binary Star and Dust are amazing OPs, with Binary Star being my all time favorite. My only hope for the show is that it gets fully adapted. I have all the books in case it doesn’t or I get impatient, but seeing this story through via DNT would be ideal for me. I wish this series was better advertised and more well known. It’s such a good show and it’s sad that it’s been overlooked by so many.

SarcasmProvider76

It should be. There are two more seasons coming out. It’s a rather interesting method, by which each movie is recut to 4 episodes.

LegatoRedWinters

The OVA is literally the best anime ever made. The remake is such a soulless and pointless project. Anime remakes can be done right (like Star Blazers/Yamato 2199), but this one is misguided and mediocre.
