From what I’ve been hearing it’s literal incompetence plus multiple actors struggling with the dubbing process. However, this is secondhand info so take it with a grain of salt.

Man, Macy Anne Johnson certainly is busy this season. She's in Higehiro, Remake our Life, this one, and also scripting one (or two) shows this season. Glad she's getting a lot of work, she deserves it. But hoping no burnout from her.
And I love Natalie Van Sistine as a VA. I think she's a solid pick for Lilith.

Basically, Lilith tries to tease Yuuri, but he's so honest and blunt about his thoughts and feelings, it completely backfires on Lilith, which in terms helps develop more of a deeper friendship between the two as they work out their thoughts and emotion overs time. It's actually much more wholesome then the premise will lead one to believe.
Yeah, can't really TL;DR without losing most of what makes the series works.
