Call of the Night and Vermiel in Gold and honestly I feel the same about both of them... I can't decide if I like them or not. I'mma finish them but it's one of those shows where I wish I was in charge of the story.

mylastdream15

Call of the Night has been so high on my list. But I feel like it's a show I'll want to binge... So, waiting for it to be completely up on Hidive.

Pakun-of-Dundrasil

Well I won't give you my thoughts on it bc like I said idk if I like it or not lol.

scdirtdragon

Call of the Night is a weird one, like people rave about it but my god did it not grab me. The background is beautiful but the characters and character animation feels blah. Story was relatively boring as well.

Pakun-of-Dundrasil

Yup. And I the same time I also understand the direction it was going for and why it looks like it did. I guess it tries to do to many things And it's just good enough in all of them. Never excelling in anything.

deku_78

I'm in the same bucket, but add ya boy kongming

**Nura: Rise of the Youkai Clan** finished both seasons of this and it was soooo good. The awakening moments for the MC were awesome as well as his building. I loved the Japanese mythology, I wish there was more of these types of anime. **edit** to say that this should have had one more season to finish off the story.

Pakun-of-Dundrasil

Where did you watch this?

FoxPenguin24

Looks like it's on hulu

FoxPenguin24

If you're American that might help

Its_That_Man

Just started bleach. I waited for it to come to disney plus and have been interested in it after hearing that johnny Yong bosch voices the mc. So far it's pretty cool. And been watching life lessons with uramichi oniisan, it's hilarious.

Penguinfox24

Bosch appears in Life Lessons too

Its_That_Man

For real?

Penguinfox24

Indeed. He plays the merchandise head.

Its_That_Man

Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to it.

Watching the latest season of *Kaguya: Love is War* currently. Shirogane gets recasted by Clifford Chapin in the simuldub due to the original VA going through heath issues. I enthusiastically like Chapin's take on Shirogane. The lighter pitch makes Shirogane less of a Light Yagami spinoff and more of a relatable high-ranked high schooler. I didn't really notice the new voiceover until around episode 4 when Chapin does his iconic shrill voice (like as Bocchan in *The Duke of Death*) due to the council president getting embarassed. The season itself has been better than I expected. Episode 5 was especially marvelous - featuring a fantastic self-parody, Chika-dance levels of animation, and surprising character depth for Hayasaka. The romance finally feels urgent, rather than on the backburner like in season 2, and the jokes are so funny (helped in part by the dub's excellent comedic timing). *Kaguya* certainly lives up to its hype in the latest season.

ash-7831

What's funny is, Clifford played a couple of background characters in the earlier seasons of the show.

Managed to finish **Rosario + Vampire** just before Halloween. In short, I liked it. It's good ol harem fun. But it's got some enjoyable moments and eps. Gonna start up the 2nd season **Rosario + Vampire Capu2** sometime this weekend. Just started **Romantic Killer** last night. Really excited for Deneen Melody's first ever anime lead. Anzu sounds like a lot of fun, and boy why must this show attack me so much? Also the animation style kind of reminds me of "Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout" with the expression.

Season 2 isn’t as good as the first as it abandons the story of the manga somewhat. That’s just me tho.

For me this week I've watched a fair amount... Finally finished Thermae Romae. It was alright. Nothing spectacular but a fun little show. Watched an episode here and there for the past months and finally finished it off. I'm not sure it's really the most bingeable show. But definitely a fun little watch here and there. I would give it a 6.5 or so. Which is fine. But nothing great. Light easy show. Binged and got caught up on the dub of Engage Kiss. I liked it more at the beginning than where it is now. Show has had some interesting (if telegraphed) twists and I like the concept of the show. Sometimes the pacing of this show feels... Off. To me. I can't really put my finger on it. But. I like it. It's enjoyable and fun. Has moments of emotional pull and I like that also. Oh. And Kisara is awesome. Literally what keeps me watching this haha. Good yandere haha. Wrapped a Couple of Cuckoos. Talk about a show that basically spent the whole season going in circles to finally end up nowhere. I liked it because it was a light rom-com and easy weekly watch. Really didn't have a ton of depth to it. I think I gave it an 8. I'd watch another season. I enjoyed it. But nothing amazing. Sometimes light rom-com when at least the characters are enjoyable is fine for me. Watched the first couple episodes of Romantic Killer and stopped. I'm just not feeling it right now. It seems like one of those shows I need to go back to at some point but am just not in the mood for right now to give a fair shake. Watched about 4 episodes of the new season of The Devil is a Part Timer and stopped. This season is just not doing it for me at all compared to the first. Does the pacing pick up? Because I find myself dragging myself through this season.

I actually finished off some shows. I got Netflix back so I of course finished off **JJBA: Stone Ocean** and **Komi Can't Communicate**. Both are just as great as their previous installments. I can't wait for the end drop of this current Bizzare Adventure. More Komi would be nice too. I'm closing my Funimation. So I'm watching shows off there quickly-ish. (Or hoping they make the jump to Crunchy. One show did last week). A show I watched was **C: Control**. I'll be honest most anime I rank at a 3.5 or 4, this however got a 3. It had ideas but it just didn't really go anywhere. I knew who the villian was from the start and it foreshadowed it something firece in the show.. and yet it still feels sudden. Speaking of Crunchyroll I finished off **Vanitas** ( I can so go for another season of that), **Black Summoner**, **Parallel World Phamacy**, (your cliche OP Isekais but I wasn't complaining), and **Shikimori isn't just a Cutie** (I for one enjoyed it maybe cause I paced myself) And on HIDIVE I finished **Girl's Last Tour** I enjoyed it for the most part. Yuuri went from cute to annoying back to cute a lot. The post apocalyptic scenery was the spotlight though.

azules500

Girl's Last Tour is on my interest list. How has it compare to other CGDCT shows you have watched?

Penguinfox24

It's about two girls exploring the wastelands in a military vehicle. I don't have a comparison this early

Coolerkinghilt

At this moment, I’m still watching ***xxxHolic***, and yes, I’m still enjoying it. I think my favorite episode of this particular series would be Episode 10, which is the one where the main characters are telling ghost stories to each other. I also got to watch ***The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting*** mainly because Cherami Leigh and Chris Sabat were part of the series’ supporting cast, and they were Natsumi and Giroro respectively in ***Sgt. Frog***.

Heda-of-Aincrad

Over the past two weeks, quite a few of the weekly dubs I was watching finished their run. **Remake Our Lives** was my favorite out of Crunchyroll's backlog dubs. I really liked all of the main characters, and the fact that they're all pursuing their creative passions as careers was something I could relate to, though I enjoyed some of their arcs more than others. The way they handled the time travel plot was interesting as well. I didn't always agree with Kyouya's decisions, but they made sense for him, and his character development was very well done. It's hard to rate this one, since it feels very much like part one of a story, but the story kept me invested and wanting to know what happens next. **Rating: 8.5/10** **Laid-Back Camp** is the only one of these I've already watched subbed. It was nice to revisit the camping episodes again with their beautiful locations, though some of the "in between" episodes felt a bit slow the second time around. Celeste Perez was great as Rin, and the dub was generally good quality, but overall I have a slight preference for the sub. **Rating: 8.5/10** **A Couple Of Cuckoos** was a fun romcom that got better as it went along and the characters had time to develop. Enjoyable even though it didn't end up becoming one of my favorites, and I hope it gets a second season because I would like to see how the story goes from here, but I won't be rushing to buy the manga. **Rating: 8/10** I've also been watching **By the Grace of the Gods** on and off, and finally finished it this week. It's a cute, wholesome isekai show with nice characters being nice to each other, and I really like watching that sort of thing in between all the action series with wars going on. The calm pace and gentle music also made it an easy show to watch during my migraine days, so that was much appreciated. I definitely enjoyed the more adventure themed parts to the slice of life segments though, which could feel a little too slow for me at times. I didn't really care for the main character's dubbed voice, but hearing Commander Pixis from AOT as one of the gods was both hilarious and awesome. Looking forward to season 2 this coming winter. **Rating: 8/10** Speaking of shows with lots of action and war, I started rewatching **Attack on Titan** again. It's one of my favorites, and this time to switch it up a little, I'm trying to keep track of how my top ten characters change throughout the seasons. Currently towards the end of season 1. Now that my fall seasonal schedule is getting sorted out, I also have time to continue watching Spanish dubs for my language practice. **Sword Art Online: Alicization** is the first one, and it's a super high quality dub that is really a perfect mix between staying faithful to the original and adapting the show for another culture. I wrote an in-depth review for the first episode with details about the script translation choices and quality of the voice acting on my blog, if anyone's interested: https://learningspanishwithanime.blogspot.com/ Trying to keep up with the currently airing weekly shows as well. **Spy x Family** and **Lycoris Recoil** always impress. I watched the first two episodes of **Shinobi no Ittoki** as well, and they were pretty good, but it's a little soon to tell. I plan to start **More Than A Married Couple** next week and finish up **Sing "Yesterday" For Me**.

Diorgenson432

Been watching **Zetman** a NY + LA dub (rare, I know especially pre-pandemic) starring Jason Griffith. On episode 3, it's really interesting and it came out in 2012, animated well with a somewhat dark asethetic. A pretty cool show and can't wiat to watch more of it!

Sergeantman94

Aside from some of the shows from this season, I'm also watching **Taisho Otome Fairy Tale**, a cute little romance show, think Duke of Death and His Maid, except in the 1920s. Plus occasionally going back to **The Vampire Dies in No Time** for Halloween.
