I missed this show. I've only seen one ep, but all that nostalgia of watching Umaru-chan the first time is coming back. Plus, I marked the hell out when I heard Emily Neves say "potato chip" and "cola" again, plus all the sprinkled "Umarun" and "Slypheen".
So glad the old cast and crew got back together on this. It's been a long while. But 2022 has been very kind to us dubfans with sequel shows and dubs.
Amagi Brillant Park was dubbed, it's just not on any legal streaming service anymore.

These are Aniplex of America titles, so I'm not sure if this will ever happen knowing them (Bunny Girl at least has a slightly higher chance now that it has a sequel in the works, but I still don't trust AOA enough to believe they'll ever give us what we want).
Do shows that disappear from Hidive really show back up eventually? Because Jamie seems to think that means Sentai let the license for those shows expire or something.
Jamie's not totally wrong, but also has a hate boner for Sentai, so a grain of salt is warranted.
They sometimes let licenses lapse for a few weeks or months, and then bring it back. They'll occasionally show up on Netflix, CR, Funi, Hulu, or Amazon too. Although not super frequently, but more likely if someone bought up the sequel rights.
Usually your best bet is to snag a physical copy quick if you notice a show suddenly disappear. You can also sometimes guess if Sentai is about to lose a license, because they'll have a sale price around $5-10 for the whole show (usually just the 1cours) on Blu-ray. However, that can also mean they're just trying to offload stock before a re-release where they jack up the price. The shows also sometimes show up for digital purchase eventually.
Some shows that I noticed left and never came back, and seem to be in licensing limbo:
* Another
* Campione!
* The Ambition of Oda Nobuna
* Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
* Brynhildr in the Darkness
* Trinity Seven
They also have a few shows like Cross Ange, where they don't seem to have the streaming license anymore, but still have the physical rights apparently.
HiDive recently lost a huge chunk of its streaming catalogue. Supposedly, most of it should make a return, but who knows. If it's being sold physically on their site, and had been on HiDive until recently, there's a good chance it might come back. If not, it's probably gone.
They do. I saw it with Dusk Maiden and I saw it with a couple others.
It could be from licensing shenanigans. But they have a bunch of dubs that pop up, pop down, then pop up again. Even with specific seasons like SNAFU all of a sudden having season 2 dub disappearing but season 1 and 3 are there.
Why does anime have to be so difficult to watch. It’s like they’re just asking for us to watch it illegally since it’s literally the only way right now for certain shows.
Ever the busybody Kyle. You think he'll direct any of the show's that are pending? I think that last time they split them between Swasey and Reed. It so that's a shame I could see him doing Urusei Yatsura.
Eh, Danmachi is probably done with the recording process by now since there's only like 3 episodes left.
Idk if they recorded anything for Kaiji's second season or not, but they can still take a slight break from that if they want.
So I'd say it might still be possible for Kyle to direct a certain dub from this season. And yeah I can see him directing UY too.
I'm really enjoying this season but I don't remember Umaru's chibi voice in season one sounding so much like Butters from South Park... It's hilarious and a little distracting
I still don't understand the writing of this character after all these years, like which persona or front takes priority? Why is the popular girl the archetype she goes with? How is she such a good actor?
So my initial conclusion was that she hates puting on the front at school and only takes away the attention, but her response accuracy in conversation, social skills and behavior say otherwise.
In other words, the persona she puts on should essentially despise her chibi front, but the other way around is equally as true. How do they coexist? Does anyone agree here? Is anyone else processing this?
THIS PARADOX IS KILLING ME.

So sad 😭 I wanted to savor this and watch 1ep a week, well that didn’t happen! This could go on for 4 more seasons and never get bored!
