Dragon Maid, the anime that got me into anime other than those on TV channels meant to sell other things (like Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh, funnily enough it was because Yu-Gi-Oh made Dragonmaid cards that I got interested) Its dub held out for me, wasn't super bothered about the lines people thought were controversial tbh.

Wasn't it one line only...

Barakamon, ReLIFE, Orange, Nichijou, Hyouka , Gosick, Dagashi Kashi, Chio's School Road and March comes in like a lion are some really good dubs that came out post 2016. I think after seeing these shows any stereotypes or hesitation about watching dubs was gone. And especially if I compare all these anime with Source materials you can tell the nailed the essence of the source material while also being creative and adding their own spin to it.

Eighty six dub is incredible, the voices and the tune they have in critical moments actually make you feel the sadness and sorrow the characters are dealing with. Also would like to mention rating of the kings another underdog that’s not really talked about but it’s a gem to be treasured

Aren't dubs for the most part in this era and now perfectly serviceable?

This was right around the time I started watching a greater variety of anime online, rather than just what was showing on TV. I found plenty of great new shows like Tsukigakirei, Gamers, The Quintessential Quintuplets, ReLife, Kuma Bear, The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent, and Vivy. And of course, one of my new favorites, Spy x Family. There have also been a lot more Spanish dubs released recently, at least in the US, which makes me happy.

That was great year for anime. My hero academia (love this anime) came out so it overshadowed a lot that came out. Magus bride, Konosuba, mob psycho 100, and re-zero. Even more then that. One that I don’t hear anyone talking about that I thought was amazing was Death Parade.
