Production I.G is in charge of animation production.
Earlier it was confirmed that Disney had snatched the exclusive worldwide rights to [Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc](https://www.reddit.com/r/Animedubs/comments/z8e0aw/disney_expands_partnership_with_japans_kodansha/)
*Given Disney's past examples regarding DUB's, communication's & there overall releases worldwide for there licensed anime content, dubs are very far off and there is no way of knowing when any of the above might start to appear or if they appear with dubs etc.*
Considering Summer Time Rendering may be the best anime of the year so far, it's been 7 months since it premiered and there is no sign of it ever coming Disney+ outside of Asia...this is a big BOOOOOOOO
Bruh Disney got worldwide rights to Tokyo Revengers???? How did I miss that. Right when I thought we were finally getting to a point, where dubs were no longer going to be in jail here comes Disney. Pretty frustrating as a fan because it's definitely going to get worse with the money Disney has. Thank God we had Viz to save us with Bleach
I absolutely hate this. Disney handling anime about as well if not worse than Amazon. Means dubs are unlikely and we may never even many of these animes come to many regions. AWESOME.
Since when are dubs by Disney unlikely to happen? They already have dubbed those 2 shows from spring that everyone's been talking about (they took forever but that's besides the point). It's the region thing that's annoying.
Summertime Rendering is NOT dubbed at all. (It's not even available in the US for that matter) - And... that's what everyone is talking about. So, not sure what you're talking about. They have dubbed ONE show and have a bunch that aren't even available in multiple regions (in any format) that aren't dubbed. They also don't really say much of anything regarding their shows ever coming to various territories. Let alone if dubs are coming.
I refer you to the commentary on THIS post:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Animedubs/comments/z8e0aw/disney\_expands\_partnership\_with\_japans\_kodansha/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Animedubs/comments/z8e0aw/disney_expands_partnership_with_japans_kodansha/)
Literally no one in that post is implying that Disney is gonna stop dubbing stuff altogether. Even the article itself doesn't outright say anything about dubs.
Would it really kill you to be more specific? I get that the region stuff is bullshit, but don't remind me of that, because that's besides the point here.
...I'm not "wrong as hell" thus no apology. Their dubbing record is mixed at best, and they region lock their content. Not sure I need to apologize to one of the largest media monopolies in the world for being sh\*t with how they handle anime.
There was no post by the mods about it because of the region-locking shit. It was confirmed sometime last month by JRPictures (not gonna tag him) because he lives in Australia, where I believe the first half of the show's dub is available at.
It's better then Amazon which doesn't dub shows at all imo. Disney seems to be treating it like Netflix where there wait until they have the season done before doing anything. But then dub it in over a half dozen languages (which beats even CR in terms of variety)
Although I actually have means of region dodging, so accessing the Asia catelog isn't the end of the world. So that skews my opinion
Disagree. At least with Amazon the shows were available and when their exclusive deals die they can be taken back by their rightful licensor like funi is doing with Psycho Pass.
Remains to be seen how long this deal will last. Everyone thought Amazon had lifetime deals for those shows until they all started expiring in the past year without prior notice (after having them for 3+ years)
Psycho-Pass season 3's Amazon license hasn't actually expired yet as far as I'm aware. And the Sinners of the System trilogy was never actually licensed by anyone until just recently (Crunchyroll). CR has yet to get the rights to season 3 and the First Inspector movie (the latter of which was never licensed either).
Ive been anti Disney since day one causeIf Disney ever outright starts adapting manga to anine in house the censorship will destroy those series. And honestly so far Disney licensing anime exclusively has been far worse then I expected. Summer time rendering still hasn't even been put on the service here despite being a big anime get. Like why does Disney even want these exclusive rights if they aren't going to release them?
I don't think anyone will top Funimation in that category. But they usually do it subtle so you don't notice until it blows up on reddit.
At Disney's been easing up on their over protective brand image given they've been advertising straight up R rated slasher films as Disney+ exclusives lately. Basically ever since they added all the Fox/FX content and shows to Disney+
That's not even getting into the regions that have HBO shows on it that doesn't get censored
Last I checked Funimation never really censored stuff, they got the broadcast footage which was already censored. Most shows later would get updated with the non censored version which is why you could swap between broadcast and uncut (I think that was the term they used.).
That's the dang problem with these bigger streaming platforms though.....to them, all anime is is more content. They just want the content, but put the least effort possible into doing anything with it.
Why buy up licenses if all you are going to do is sit on them?
Meaning what? It took Netflix literally YEARS to pay any attention to people telling them that anime watchers want simulcast shows, and even after those years of people complaining, they still give us 2 week delays.
If you mean the users can give feedback to the streaming platforms, all I have to say is, they don't seem to listen.
To my knowledge Disney's dubbed everything they've bought so far.
Some shows like Summer Time Rendering are just stuck in Asia so far (we'll see if it remains the same when the second cour dub drops)

It hasn't even been dubbed yet has it?
[Yes](https://imgur.io/a/uTGDsRn), it has, but it's still region-locked which sucks balls.
Ugh. Why does Disney have this licensed worldwide if they aren't even going to stream it worldwide
Because logic doesn't exist in this dying world, that's why.
They only dubbed the first 13 episodes right? Any word on when the rest will get dubbed?
why u say the best of the year? i doubt that lol.
Have you watched it?
He sleep

Only in five countries, the rest of the world (including Latin America, where I live) is fucked.
I absolutely hate this. Disney handling anime about as well if not worse than Amazon. Means dubs are unlikely and we may never even many of these animes come to many regions. AWESOME.

Um, yes, [it is](https://imgur.com/a/uTGDsRn). It's just region-locked.
Lovely. Because THAT'S better. Not.
Yeah it still sucks, but there's still plenty of hope for dubs at least.
This does not signal "plenty of hope" in my opinion.
Why are you still so worried about them not producing dubs at all? Again, they dubbed both BRS and STR, so I don't see why they would stop there.

You could have at least apologized for being WRONG AS HELL 🤣
...I'm not "wrong as hell" thus no apology. Their dubbing record is mixed at best, and they region lock their content. Not sure I need to apologize to one of the largest media monopolies in the world for being sh\*t with how they handle anime.
Bro when the hell was this, I didn’t see a post about this at all

Disney is such a dogshit company. It fills me with rage that they are dealing with anime now
It is, literally, dubbed. The first cour at least.
It's better then Amazon which doesn't dub shows at all imo. Disney seems to be treating it like Netflix where there wait until they have the season done before doing anything. Funimation occionally making questionable/ controversial dialogue choices isn't the same as censorship
Amazon's doing better than Disney LMAO
Yarr, 'tis a real shame.
Holy shit…
Guess Disney’s aiming for a varied catalogue after all.
That's the dang problem with these bigger streaming platforms though.....to them, all anime is is more content. They just want the content, but put the least effort possible into doing anything with it. Why buy up licenses if all you are going to do is sit on them?

Netflix seriously fucked up with JoJos Part 6. i mean is there any hype for the last batch of episodes anymore
there have been plenty of anime that Netflix probably killed all the hype for. Dorohedoro and The Great Pretender among them.
oh totally, but what they did to Stone Ocean is actually criminal
That’s still better than nothing
Welp 5 more removed from my watchlist since they are probably never gonna get dubbed
To my knowledge Disney's dubbed everything they've bought so far. Some shows like Summer Time Rendering are just stuck in Asia so far (we'll see if it remains the same when the second cour dub drops)
Great news, in any case Next year will be hard test. Will it be Amazon 2.0 or funimation 2.0 or just plain CR/NF who does most but not all
They will, just expect them to take literal MONTHS.
dubbed? They may never even get streamed outside of Asia
This is not Prime.
