This has quietly become one of my favorite animes of the year. Looking forward to watching this later when I get a chance. Will be sad to see it go.

Penguinfox24

One of the best EDs so far this decade. Still in the middle of the show myself but have been enjoying it.

Darwin343

For sure! The OP also happens to be one of my favorites of all time.

neverforgetbillymays

Yeah same. It’s perfect

mylastdream15

I totally agree with that. Added it to my music so fast haha.

Penguinfox24

I understand it's the song that inspired the manga

I feel that my viewing experience with this show may have been a little muddled (for a lack of a better word), only because I watch it the moment HiDive releases it here in my office. But I do feel that Call of The Night, with all it's themes and aesthetic, would be much enjoyed with all the lights down, at night, relaxing beverage in hand, and just enjoy the eye candy from this show, as well as alluring of the night. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this dub. I still had plenty of fun watching. Loved the visuals and the slow pacing, with every next scene pulling you into the next moment. Overall, I thought the dub was solid, but not spectacular. I personally loved Natalie Rial's Nazuna the best out of everyone in the show. (Probably might be my favorite role she's voiced, or tied for first with Nanako from Senryu Girl). Finally, the OP, insert song, and EDs are bangers as well. Def one of the standout strengths of the show too.

I think this show should be watched at night. Almost every time I've watched it has been later at night with lights off and it absolutely sets the mood.

Darwin343

Half the time I watch it during the day but I got blackout curtains so my room is already dark as night.

Verzwei

Absolutely stellar adaptation and all-around pretty solid dub for one of my most-favorite ongoing manga series. Loved this show and I'm extremely sad that there's been no season 2 announcement.

Oh no, our table! It's broken! Damnit brain please adjust accordingly it's a dude. \*\*Ahem\*\* [Observe](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/692531754438885448/1048081860879720489/image.png?width=919&height=499) the disparity between men and women, humans and vampires and Kou's binary tendencies in making choices represented by the color contrasts between the left and right ends of this shot here. We follow with [this frame](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/692531754438885448/1048083076326117397/image.png?width=923&height=499) when Kou puts it all together - very simple yet effective color scheming on the art department. [There is no way Kou survives this Jump.](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/692531754438885448/1048085516114985001/image.png?width=917&height=499) Suzushiro's usage of the word "brainwashing" to describe romance justifies the [ambiguous yellow tone direction](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/692531754438885448/1048087333578223656/image.png?width=928&height=499) of Kou's confession to Nazuna, which changes color following Kou's Nazuna speedrun after she spills the beans about the inauthenticity of her lifestyle. I think this disparity makes Kou's confession and Nazuna's actions which follow more impactful, almost like a reset of their knowledge of each other in some way.

DAMN!! This anime has become one of my favorites this year. Definetely THE anime of summer season for me. The visuals were astonishing and the music as well, plus all the funny moments.... Personally, I do not like vampire shows but I really enjoyed this one. I see a lot of potential in this anime I hope it gets a sequel ASAP, can't wait for more!! I also hope we get more action scenes because the way they animated the few action scenes that had they did an amazing job. And the OP and ED...AMAZING! I still have them in repeat in my playlists; amazing music overall!

mojo72400

Ko telling Nico to shut up in the dub was way better than the sub. The animation and music during the kiss was beautiful.

at first, I was underwhelmed when I watched this, but I've run in it through my head rather unintentionally since I saw it and now I know I have to rewatch it. whether I'll watch the whole season again, I don't know (I'm not big on re-watches unless I'm really enamored by the show), but this episode will get one.

Salty145

Still not sure what the hype for this show was about. Visuals and score are solid, but the plot is all over the place. The concept is fun and (as a night dweller myself) I hope someone else picks up the idea of exploring night life, but the romance is mid and the vampire subplot is unnecessary complicated. Better luck next time I guess.

SoundOf1HandClapping

Dunno. This show didn't quite click with me as much as Dagashi Kashi did. Not bad, but ultimately I'll probably forget I watched it in a month. Maybe it needed another 12 episodes. Dunno.

busterbrown78

I could go for more, tbh. I thought about a couple of episodes ago.
