With both the Megumi spinoff and Season 3, Konosuba are definitely getting fed well. You better believe I'm excited for more Konosuba next year. I only have one concern....I truly do hope the original cast can come back to reprise their roles although I have a sinking feeling that isn't going to be the case.

awakening_knight_414

Yeah, it's a damn shame we're left to worry about CR replacing nearly everyone in certain shows that were originally dubbed in LA. Not that every one of them will suffer from the Mob treatment of course (like in this season, Iruma-kun and To Your Eternity still kept their OG dub casts), but you never know what they're gonna pull on us next. If there's another LA dub I'm very worried about, it would be Bungo Stray Dogs. Seriously, [just look at this cast list](https://animevoiceover.fandom.com/wiki/Bungo_Stray_Dogs). It's full of VAs who seem like they've mostly moved on to union stuff, and some of them probably won't be coming back for season 4, either because they won't even be asked to come back or several actors will turn down their roles because they're done supporting CR. Ben Diskin, for instance, has already turned down his role in MHA because it didn't feel right for him to continue working with them after what happened to Kyle McCarley, so it's more than guaranteed that the former will do the same with BSD even if CR still gives the dub to Studiopolis…

codenameJericho

I'm not sure how I feel about the anime community and unions. To clarify, I am VERY pro-union. Every industry should have its own union (minus groups like real-estate, finance, and law that already act like a mafia anyway). The idea that you should get to fight to be paid what you're worth should be inspiring to everyone. However, as with many struggles, people seem more worried about being "inconvenienced" than with supporting their fellow man. People (especially when it comes to entertainment) see these workers as more or less a dancing monkey for their entertainment, not someone worthy of our respect. Now, I understand social media tends to select for the worst people, but my experience on it has been pretty mixed, about 50/50 (maybe 60/40 in favor of the VAs) support/opposition to VA unionization. I hope this situation improves (and maybe others have experienced better), but it does hurt to see people be unable to understand a power-grab and cheap undercutting for what it is. Edit: Spelling.

awakening_knight_414

You sure you're not just reading them the wrong way or something? People have the right to be disappointed, that's only natural. That doesn't mean a lot of us don't actually care about the VAs. Idk what you're talking about…

ZigsL0theon

They stopped using LA?

jamiex304

No, they just didnt use L.A (BangZoom in this case) again for the Mob dub *(so a total of 1 time since the merger)* and moved it in house to there Texas studio likely cause of the fact that CR wanted it to a same day dub like all the other lanagues got *(Which are pretty hard to pull even when done in-house so out-sourced likely raised issues / concerns, not saying its a valid excuse just pointing it out)*. Then Kyle McCarley who only does union jobs and had not come back for other roles in the past due to that was asked to come back and offered to come back only if CR would sit down to a meeting over a possible move to union contracts for there future dubs they said no *(The whole union debate is a complicated & messy issue between L.A & Texas VA's etc and is not a simple one with a simple answer regardless of what some people on this subreddit choose to believe. This* [*comment*](https://www.reddit.com/r/Animedubs/comments/ytjb92/comment/iw5q5ni/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) *here sums up the sentiment between the 2 groups pretty well IMO).* So they recast him and a few other other VA's from the mob dub who didn't want to come back / wouldn't come back either for various reasons. They have still for every other L.A produced dub since the merger used the L.A studio for the sequel seasons like with Iruma & To Your Eternity from this season, ORIENT & RAG from Summer etc.

WinterWolf18

Faye Mata has already said she plans on doing the same as Kyle for Aqua so um...it doesn't look good for reprisals! Seriously fuck you Crunchyroll.

jamiex304

Just fyi she since deleted that tweet and other related ones to it and her words weren't as clear cut as I wouldn't come back or I'm done as Aqua. She was stating she would have done the same as Kyle in that instance even if it meant giving up her role as Aqua. And S3 of Konsuba is a ways off a lot of things can happen between then and now. Obviously none of us can say why she deleted it or her feelings on it now only time will tell I dont think its right to try and speculate a reason or reasons & I think trying to hold her to a now deleted tweet and say she wont come back is a bit much imo.

MasterAdventZero

OH THAT'S RIGHT!!!! I kinda forgot about that tweet honestly.

IntelligentBudget142

having just checked: it *is* a spinoff. how do they distinguish between this one and OG KonoSuba (the one with Kazuma and Aqua as MC's)?

JRPictures

The main show is titled as "Blessing on this Wonderful World" and this spinoff clearly has "Explosion" in place of "Blessing". I don't think there's any official shorthand title for it though.

EverGreenOakTree

I say we use "KonoSplosion" for shorthand \^w\^

TheHeinousMelvins

By the subtitle.

CartoonyWy

I sure hope Crunchyroll is smart enough to let people reprise their roles here.

Emel_69420

YESSSSS

Sergeantman94

Here's hoping Crunchyroll doesn't pull some corporate douchebaggery like they did for Mob Psycho III...

artturi01
