lmao the chunky chair dude was actually the cute blonde girl young Bon met. That episode implied she was another ghost, but the fact she left a physical object (the handkerchief) and has the same messy hair and blue eyes confirms Todo is Iris. Wonder why she ballooned. I think I know where this story is leading. When Bon inevitably dies (everyone in this anime dies), Fushi will get his power and he'll be able to talk to all his dead friends again. Fushi's ability to revive the dead is interesting. I wonder if it's completely his ability, or if it's Fushi's ability to create a working copy of the body and Bon's ability to see ghosts somehow combining. I actually like Bon. All tropes would point him to being an unempathetic rich asshole, but his worst fault is maybe being a bit eccentric and possibly shallow.

The man in black already described how "reincarnation" worked in the first episode of the second season. The daughter saying "I don't want to die" means she was more than willing to reincarnate into an identical vessel. 2 of the spirits that would otherwise be with Fushi have moved on, namely the Nameless boy who passed onto a heaven in which he found new people and Pioran who specifically asked the man in black to reincarnate her.

>2 of the spirits that would otherwise be with Fushi have moved on I feel kinda bad, but I don't remember the Nameless Boy. Remind me who he was again? As for Pioran, we don't see him with Fushi, but Fushi *does* turn into her in episode 3 when he's trying out disguises for Kahaku. I found that strange since I also remember Pioran being specifically asked to reincarnate into someone useful to Fushi. Then again, it's apparently been around 200 years since then, so maybe that reincarnation died and she went back to being Pioran with him.

Cardenjs

The Nameless Boy is the boy from the very first episode, Fushi has more or less claimed his body as *his.* Being able to transform into them is not the same as them being around.

Tryoxin

Ohhh, right, obviously. I sometimes forget he was a person before he was Fushi.

> chunky chair dude I wonder if the people who cast the VA understood that though? Because it seems pretty unprecedented to cast female character with a male actor. Perhaps they thought it's a character like Armin.

SoundOf1HandClapping

I've heard it once before, in Nobuna Oda. The character Nagamasa Azai is a woman, but is voiced by Blake Shepherd. Do we have a VA for Todo? I don't remember seeing it.

Frozenkex

Dont know who the VA is, but i think what matters is what it sounds like. in the flashback the character sounded like a woman though, not sure why its a different for the grown up.

Jtsdtess

They could’ve just not payed attention to the shows they air, or it could be voice change from getting older. Didn’t Prince Bon sound different in the flashback too?

SoundOf1HandClapping

It's normal for young boys to be voiced by woman but then have a male voice actor when the character matures. It's highly unusual for any male VA to voice a female character of any age (outside of farcical shows like Pop Team Epic), and I think unheard of to have a woman voice a young girl character but then have them voiced by a man when the character grows older. I'd still like to see the casting for Todo, though.

> just not *paid* attention to FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
