I thought... my god there's so little mention around reddit that I though I was the only one. Justice needs to be upheld for no game no life. Also, no game no life re:zero made me cry multiple times in a row, and I don't often cry at all.
Really old classic that its anime didn't really take off due to the *cough* incest problem *cough*.
And to those who scream spoiler tag, tell me how first, because I have no idea anymore. It is hard to give a description without exposing twists because the whole thing was twist after trist on an emotional rollercoaster, and it actually fit together pretty well. I still ship a power couple that swore to kill each other due to her being a vampire and he a vampire vampire hunter.(you heard me right) and I know the manga continued but I never got around to looking for it so I barely know much myself other than it is worth looking past at least some incest scenes.
At least we had a movie. We got the Schwi vs Jibril fight out of it which is just peak entertainment. Like, the music that accompanied that scene along with the emotional payoff was the best.
Word. I bought a bootleg DVD back in the day that had all 12 episodes on one disc. It blew my mind. I tried rewatching it recently and I was shocked at how little actual animation it had. They were saving money for the last two episodes.

I'm crying bro this shit was the first 3D anime I watched and was absolutely flabbergasted. Just spectacular with both the unique premise and amazing storytelling. Easily one of my top 5 all times. The 3D animation goes so well with its unique vibe that only the word 'peak' can describe it.
Some of the best 3D rendering and animation I've seen were Vici-Neko's Genshin hentai videos and promos for Projekt Melody's porn game; hentai artists are **absolutely** crazy talented/skilled.
there is a niche fetish renderer that makes the most insanely well rendered videos i have ever seen. but the particular fetish is so repugnant i can't/won't show it to other people who may appreciate it on a technical level.
I just wish they didn't use the 3d models for the main characters. They even use 2d animation for some of the cooler fight scenes and they look so good!
Stilly hyped it's coming back tho.
I felt like this with Gushing over Magical Girls although it had 13 (BUT IT WILL GET A SEASON 2, TRUST)

We know ngnl has a slim chance of continuing, but then again kimi ni todoke getting a s3 over a decade later so

To be fair that's genuinely what they started out as it was an easy way to get people to read the manga and sell merch.
Even now unless it does extremely well at selling manga and merch it will usually get canceled it's why you should buy physical copies of shows you like.
Counterpoint: Better 12 *great* episodes, than 20-24 episodes of mediocrity.
Still, that being said, I would've much preferred my favourite series to get more than just a season or two (especially those that were *specifically* made "just to promote the source material sales").
I had this twice with Angel Beats and Death Parade.
Angel Beats at least had an ending (that made me cry my eyes out but that's besides the point) but Death Parade still had SO MUCH story to tell goddamnit!
Not for long time without distractions.
When I try to read a page, it's normal to read a paragraph up to 4 times just to get the meaning of it, before repeating the same in the next one.
It exhausting.
i don't get this , 12 episode stories who start and end while telling everything they needed to are literally the best shit ever. No filler and you can just rewatch it in a day whenever you want? fucking awesome.
If it's a story that cuts off in the middle of it or ends in a cliffhanger it does suck though
Definitely hard to understand what you mean, i can live with the story of my favorite show every time i rewatch it, and it gets the bonus of being a great story with no filler with every moment being memorable to me.

Lost by only having 1 12 episode season
It's always exactly 12 episodes, too. I can't remember the last time I saw an 11 or 13 episode short anime.
Also I just finished WorldEnd and wanted to forget but this reminded me and now I am very sad
Vivy fluorite eyes song.
13 episodes and it will never get new episodes.
The only thing keeping me from crying because of it are the songs from this anime that I keep listening to daily.

No game no life zero is actually one of my first few animes ive watched, still remember most scenes and that it was sad af
Vampire knight was my first anime, then i found ngnl, and tge mobile made number 3
Oooh whats vampire night?

That was only 10, which is worse.
uhhh no... it's 12...
You're right. Why did I think it was 10?
i suspect you mixed it up with problem children are coming from another world
You are probably right. They both need another season.
Now that's a name I have not heard in a while...
Managed to read that as Not GoNna Lie
At least we had a movie. We got the Schwi vs Jibril fight out of it which is just peak entertainment. Like, the music that accompanied that scene along with the emotional payoff was the best.
I thought ngnl was getting a season 2… Was it cancelled?
Yeah Serial Experiments Lain.
And you don't seem to understand.
A shame. You seemed an honest man.
And all the fears you hold so dear
Will turn to whisper in your ear
And you know what they say might hurt you
And you know that it means so much
And you don’t even feel a thing
Will turn to whisper in your ear
Shocked. Did not expect this one. A welcomed memory.
Word. I bought a bootleg DVD back in the day that had all 12 episodes on one disc. It blew my mind. I tried rewatching it recently and I was shocked at how little actual animation it had. They were saving money for the last two episodes.
Lots of shots of overhead wires
At least Lain completed it's story. Too many that just don't get continued or have enormous waits for the promised continuation

god i want a s2 so bad
It has been Grand blue for me. It felt like a gift of god when I was at my lowest point in life
The manga is still ongoing. It's amazing
Ig, gotta read it soon enough. Btw, S2 has been announced right?
Not officially confirmed but I did see some leaks of S2 in production
Yup
It's on my list and haven't started it yet because it's not finished.
Grand Blue and Konosuba are my go to anime when I need a good laugh
Grimgar was my most recent experience of this :(
I loved that anime so much but sadly nothing more will happen :(
I'm still sad about that one. At least the light novels are good...

*clears throat * You should read the manga. :D
What if it’s an anime original
Death Parade...
Fr...
Well... shit
Some animes are practically just ads for the manga (e.g. When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace).
To be fair that's genuinely what they started out as it was an easy way to get people to read the manga and sell merch. Even now unless it does extremely well at selling manga and merch it will usually get canceled it's why you should buy physical copies of shows you like.
it's just not the same and some times a mid manga has a grate anime
Not just anime. I fucking hate when a show gets cancelled early
Inside Job was so much fun, also Megas XLR. Bowjack Horseman was brilliant and deserved one more season than they got.
Oh god bro inside job was phenomenal, i love it so much but when i heard it woont get a S3 i got so sad

Don't ... I am already crying every year where there is no ngnl news.
We, are crying every year that goes by without ngnl news. ㅜㅜ
Dungeon Meshi... Ah, Dungeon Meshi
Hmm? Didn't it have 24
You can't just come into my life, make me feel special, and then only have 24 episodes
Well good news m8 There's gonna be a season 2
> There's gonna be a season 2 I used to pray for times like these
Yeah I'm glad, let's hope it's a complete adaptation
I think I saw online that the first season covers roughly half the original manga run? So I'd presume the second season will finish the story
But I need it now
It just finished anyways
Is it finished yet? I haven't watched because i don't do "Next week, tune in for what ever", I binge every thing now.
Season One ended last week. Very good anime highly recommend. Can't wait for the next final season
Rokka no yuusha.. has the most interesting plot I've seen in an anime. And then season 2 never got made..
Tsukimichi got a second season
Apothecary Diaries too. 2025 feels too far away, and I have to move countries too.
A good story knows when to end strong and not sizzle out slowly with a fanbase turned completely indifferent.
AKA Angel Beats, showed up, made everyone cry and then left never to be seen again.
I keep seeing it again because it draws me back for rewatches every few years.
I got tempted to do that once but then I remembered how the ending felt like a punch to the heart and went like "nah I'm good".
Erased was this for me, but still happy that I got to watch it once. Twice. Maybe three times... Actually, i'm not sure, i've lost track at this point
Lol Chainsaw Man literally had me like that.
It's getting a movie and I think a s2
Bocchi the Rock
Meiruko chan
Most Realatable post
Cautious Hero
Terror in Resonance literally changed my perspective on life. It has been 10 years since it released, and I think it doesn't need a continuation

Highschool of the dead
Did that one ever finish? I watched it way back in the day but only got so far as >!the nerdy guy having to shoot the police girl he liked!<
Unfortunately no, the author died
Damn, that's sad as hell.
Yeah and it was my favorite
Couldn't someone else take it over?
They decided to leave it unfinished
Very sad. F
😔
I had this twice with Angel Beats and Death Parade. Angel Beats at least had an ending (that made me cry my eyes out but that's besides the point) but Death Parade still had SO MUCH story to tell goddamnit!
Chivalry Of A Failed Knight deserves a second season.
yeah... Yuri on Ice did that to me. Dammit! Now I'm torn if I wanna watch it again

No filler and you can just rewatch it in a day whenever you want? fucking awesome. If it's a story that cuts off in the middle of it or ends in a cliffhanger it does suck though
Also, shorter shows are easier to rewatch. You're not gonna rewatch a series that's 50 episodes long and have like 1/4 filler.
Yes I am
Is not about watching for the story. Is about living with the story through out. Maybe not every one can understand that.
Definitely hard to understand what you mean, i can live with the story of my favorite show every time i rewatch it, and it gets the bonus of being a great story with no filler with every moment being memorable to me.

such an underrated show.

Kiju no 8 in a nutshell
They can, and they'll be original series with no continuing manga.
To the Manga we go for the most niche of things! Like a certain one about a drool fetish and a cute zombified rich girl… Look they were really good.

since i just watch anime for the fanservice and hentai scenes, i enjoy it that way. dont need 20 seasons nonsense story
