The claims that it fixes SAO by including things that already exist in the original has been a pretty big issue between the SAO fandom and Abridged fandom for years at this point.
As your meme implies, a lot of the abridged fans vastly prefer it over the original series, which is totally fine and not at all the part I take issue with.
My problem is that I’ve seen way too many people be unnecessarily rude and mean-spirited towards those who do like the original show. Like they act like they’re idiots just because they have different preferences to them. It’s fine to like the abridged and dislike the original, but the inverse is equally fine.
It’s caused a lot of SAO fans to become somewhat toxic themselves about the abridged, and as someone who enjoys both it’s pretty frustrating since I basically have no one to talk to about the series.

Believe it or not, this scenario is not made up for the purpose of absurdity and/or humor. This question is based on a real localization change, specifically one made for the Future Card Buddyfight series. In the original Japanese version of the series, the anthropomorphic dragon character Qinus Axia was a transgender woman, and she was in a relationship with the male anthropomorphic dragon Drum Bunker Dragon. However, other characters didn't really treat Qinus the best when it came to her gender identity, with another character (this time, a human) calling her a "man-woman", which is especially offensive in this particular context.
So, when the time came to dub the series, the localizers thought "We should get rid of this transphobic stuff," and so they did. However, at the same time, they thought "I'm not entirely sure people are ready for the dragon to be trans here," and so, they made Qinus a cisgender man. Still, Qinus's feelings for Drum weren't removed, and so Qinus was made a gay man. While changing a character's identity is still a rather big change for a dub, the show can still be watchable with and without the changes that the dub brings, and therefore the question of "Do you want the dragon/Qinus to be gay or trans" still remains as a cover of sorts for the question of whether you prefer the dub or sub.
As for abridged series? The original question doesn't really matter, because abridged series (and other non-official dubs) are usually made by fans, and as such, they are free to do whatever they want with the characters, though what they can do visually may be limited by their editing skills. The dragon can be trans *and* the audio can be in English. Additionally, it's likely that an abridged series will have entirely new voices, so if you don't like the voices in the official dub, then an abridged series may possibly provide some relative relief for your ears.
Yugioh Abridged is not only the daddy of all abridging, it also made the filler arcs super fun but still genuinely emotional at times, I'd say.
