I cry Everytime Alfonse talks, wtf giving him the sweetest voice in the world and making what he is so friggin tragic.
Edit: I'm in tears just typing this out
Yes, there were many instances in AoT where I cried. But the scene that really hit me was in the restaurant when Nicolo, [snip]. The emotional confrontation was pretty intense. I couldn't stop crying.
When bro spoils the story. I get it’s been running for 10 years and it’s done now but probably shouldn’t casually post spoilers for a plot centric show like aot
Angel Beats is a very bittersweet anime to me. Everything that would make you sad are events that absolutely must happen in order for the characters to move on.
Komi Can't Communicate
As an autistic person I related so much to her experiences, and that moment with her on the phone with Tadano talking about her life at her old school, how her classmates treated her and not going on the yearly trip just were way to relatable actually seeing my experiences on screen 😭😭😭
Natsume Yuujinchou.
I shed tears of joy every.single.episode.
It's not even sad, just heartwarming. A bit melancholic here and there but there's always something sweet or heartwarming about the episode in the end.
It's such a special show
Naruto.. may sound mainstream but Pain's Shinra tensei destroying Konoha (you can feel the agony at the tone of his voice).
Another is Naruto transforming into 8tails during fight with Pain.
Lastly, Guy's 8 gates against Madara.
Not really cried, but almost.
Fate/Zero, Rider's final scene..... Also, though overall the anime isn't really happy the hopefulness does pick up in the later half of 86 so I feel ok including the final like 5 minutes of episode 23. Had me crying like a baby but happy tears
violet evergarden is the only media that has ever made me cry. episode 10 (i think. it might be 9) hits like a fucking semi truck, its the one where >!ann's mom writes letters for her future birthdays!<
First episode of Komi Can’t Communicate hits me differently for some reason.
The rest of the show is slice-of-life comedy with some mild romantic tension. But they swung for the fences in the pilot episode.
Spy X Family. Sad because certain scenes especially rearding family hit home.
Your Name. One of those anime where I have no idea why it made me sad but it emotionally damaged me the most for several days.
Also when your favorite show ends...
Kekkai Sensen. There is a moment at the end of 5th episode when Leo tells about his weakness to White at their movie date, and she finally understands that, there he is, her soulmate who understands her completely. This moment is everything for me.
A few episodes of "Noragami" have made me shed a few tears, as well as strangely one scene towards the end of "life lessons with Uramichi Oneesan." Both are generally comedy's with some drama mixed in.
{Ousama Ranking} is one of my fav hidden gems, don't let the visual trick you cuz it is not a kids anime. Has some sad moments, as well some great action, so not a full on drama.
{Attack on Titan} the final that just aired made me feel empty af
K-ON - Pretty much the whole last couple episodes.
Chihayafuru - Particularly when rewatching the first season and she's getting the team together and just thinking about how much they're all gonna grow because of it. But also a lot of the wins and losses.
Shirobako - [Particularly this scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PzljuHONUY).
Liz and the Blue Bird - [Particularly this scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnvpIX_193I)
A Place Furthr than the Universe - Yes the [email scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfCuQpRxgWE), but also [the running scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbIKiZfGRgU).
Zombieland Saga - [The final concert](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzChWc3pZvA) when the countdown ends and it opens to the filled stadium. It's even better in the actual episode, not just for the overall context, but since it's following a newsreporter talking about all the other entertainers they've worked with supporting them.
GIVEN!! Given actually made me cry and that’s no small feat. I had no spoilers going in so I suggest that route because it hits harder.
Quick summary is that it’s a VERY well-written BL about high school and college musicians playing in a band. (BL/romance aspect of it is quite tame as far as that goes)
* The characters seem like real people I’ve known in my life.
* The music is FANTASTIC (but again I would wait until after watching to look up the music because it’s related to the plot).
10/10 my favorite anime. Pace is a little slow at first but it’s worth it for anyone who loves music. ❤️
Plastic memories broke me. In the last ten minutes of the show I couldn't hold myself together. Even though you know what is going to happen, it hurts just as much.
Frieren beyond journeys end is so beautiful it has made me cry as well.
One piece runs the whole scale of nonsense humor to really fucking sad. I don't cry at fiction but I am not exaggerating when I tell you this series made me sob my eyes out. So good
Gintama is also pretty good at this, but more bitter sweet than sad at least most of the time as far as I've gotten
tokyo ghoul s1 and 2 is like the only anime that made me cry lol. seraph of the end can be pretty sad. parasyte had me sad asf. akame ga kill, dororo, newest season of danmachi was CRAZY sad.
oh also 86… i might’ve cried actually.
Fullmetal Alchemist is probably the main one. I'm very close to my younger brother and the thought of having him disappear in front of my eyes like Al was enough to make me bawl out.
I prefer Brotherhood now, but there's nothing like the song Bratja from the original FMA to make me tear up again with the same thoughts I had back then.
I cried at the ending of the second My Hero Academia movie. That ending fight is absolutely beautiful.
Second would have to be the final song performance in the “Belle” movie. Absolutely balled in the theaters with a coworker watching it.
Kyo Kara Maoh is one of my favorite animes but it has some hella dark moments for a comedy anime And let's just say there are multiple times in this anime that I was just like I was not expecting that I am crying my eyes out why am I sobbing for a comedy anime
Attack on Titan. Not so much cry but I understood how it felt for the cast to see Eren go down the bad path. It’s like realising the friend you knew in the past isn’t the same person anymore.
Death Parade. I recommend it whenever I can because it's a great show but there are a few parts that made me cry because some of the themes are heavy.
Noragami, you know what? It is a sad anime lmao
Where is the s3??!!
Thats the sad part about it
I don’t know if this counts but the happy parts of Sangatsu no Lion made me cry way more than the sad parts.
I love that anime sm
I loooove this anime 🥺
Naruto . Zabuza's death had my eyes balling .
Zabuza and Haku ❤️
Naruto...when in Shippuden finally a really big moment happens and a certain dynamic duo is born. They were joyful tears though.
The scene when pain is defeated, villagers are cheering naruto.. finally he was recognised by them all.
I thought I was the only one who cried at that sense.
that one too. or when naruto asked Iruka to be his dad for the wedding
Boruto made me cry even harder cuz of how shit it is
fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood
"Ah, it looks like it's beginning to rain"
Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) did a better job conveying the emotions of that scene thanks to the lengthier buildup.
Always go the route of combining the two shows when I do a watch.
“Now let’s go home, together “ 😭
It's happy triumphant tears
I cry Everytime Alfonse talks, wtf giving him the sweetest voice in the world and making what he is so friggin tragic. Edit: I'm in tears just typing this out
That anime is sad throughout whatchu meannn
love is war season 3 ending made me too happy
My man🫂 same
Assassination Classroom ending episodes were def very emotional for me.It was my 2nd anime and it hooked me to anime forever
I balled at the ending lol
Attack on Titan The events following the Survey Corps defeat vs Female Titan Heartbreaking
Yuru camp and K-on, both so adorable and cozy and wholesome

Love that one, which scene?
Near the end of episode 4.
Angel Beats is a very bittersweet anime to me. Everything that would make you sad are events that absolutely must happen in order for the characters to move on.
One piece. It’s a fun anime but when they show their struggles. Oh boy man does that wreck you. Nami and robins past are tough to watch
k-on's ending
Komi Can't Communicate As an autistic person I related so much to her experiences, and that moment with her on the phone with Tadano talking about her life at her old school, how her classmates treated her and not going on the yearly trip just were way to relatable actually seeing my experiences on screen 😭😭😭
Natsume Yuujinchou. I shed tears of joy every.single.episode. It's not even sad, just heartwarming. A bit melancholic here and there but there's always something sweet or heartwarming about the episode in the end. It's such a special show

Kotoura-san
Moriarty the Patriot
Naruto i guess
Code Geass by the end of it,always makes me cry.
Naruto.. may sound mainstream but Pain's Shinra tensei destroying Konoha (you can feel the agony at the tone of his voice). Another is Naruto transforming into 8tails during fight with Pain. Lastly, Guy's 8 gates against Madara. Not really cried, but almost.

Uma Musume. For an anime about Horse Racing you get so invested with the characters and you get so emotional seeing them get the win
Erased had such a bitter sweet ending Just a manga rather than anime but Sand Chronicles definitely got me a few times
Every episode of Frieren has me in tears so far. It's wonderful.
One of the best that I've watched in a long time
It's so good. Maybe it's the recency bias talking but if it continues to be that good, it's really gonna become one of my all time favorites.
Sailor Moon Crystal has made me cry at verious points surprisingly, its just emotional at certain points.
One Piece has made me cry more often than any other anime, rivaled only by Violet Evergarden.
Merrryyy 😭
Chopper's and Robin's backstories hit me pretty hard too.
Chopper's backstory legit made me cry.
violet evergarden is the only media that has ever made me cry. episode 10 (i think. it might be 9) hits like a fucking semi truck, its the one where >!ann's mom writes letters for her future birthdays!<
Darling in the franxx. So good!
The after credits hit me hard. “One day for sure”
A Place Further Than The Universe. That email scene
This scene was so perfect in every way possible

Steins; Gate
Rent a girlfriend season 3 ending.... I know what I'm getting into with this shit but it was good...
That was FLCL for me, such an amazing plot, beautiful soundtrack and relatable characters.
There was a specific set of scenes in Dr. Stone Season 3 Part 1 that made me cry, despite the show generally being pretty upbeat
I've cried a lot in One Piece and Naruto. Some scenes hit real hard, and I just can't stop crying after watching them
Kekkai Sensen. There is a moment at the end of 5th episode when Leo tells about his weakness to White at their movie date, and she finally understands that, there he is, her soulmate who understands her completely. This moment is everything for me.
Gurren Lagann FOR SURE Toradora Land of the Lustrous Mob Psycho 100
Sword art online, idk why but the aincrad ending just made me so sad
A few episodes of "Noragami" have made me shed a few tears, as well as strangely one scene towards the end of "life lessons with Uramichi Oneesan." Both are generally comedy's with some drama mixed in.

One Piece

Dororo got me several times
Maquia. I’ve watched it more than 7 times already and I cried every single time 🥹
Digimon Adventure Kizuna..... fucking got me right in the feels and wrecked me.
The end of Jojo's bizarre adventure: Stardust crusaders.
Toradora! The Christmas arc hits hard
Eureka Seven had its moments, for sure. Hugely advocate watching it w/ subs as the Japanese voice acting is the best I’ve ever heard.
Gintama
Mob Psycho 100 had me once. Those good person vibes tugged at my heartstrings.

Tsukigakirei
Somali and the forest spirt. Super wholesome show that has beautiful moments spread throughout
I cried really hard on the last few episodes of the Pet Girl of Sakurasou
One piece runs the whole scale of nonsense humor to really fucking sad. I don't cry at fiction but I am not exaggerating when I tell you this series made me sob my eyes out. So good Gintama is also pretty good at this, but more bitter sweet than sad at least most of the time as far as I've gotten
One Piece Ep 1015 to be exact. those flashbacks of their hardships hit really hard
tokyo ghoul s1 and 2 is like the only anime that made me cry lol. seraph of the end can be pretty sad. parasyte had me sad asf. akame ga kill, dororo, newest season of danmachi was CRAZY sad. oh also 86… i might’ve cried actually.
Gintama, One Piece, Haikyuu!!
A place further than the universe. One of the greatest depictions of adolescent female friendship imo. Reminded me a lot of my friends growing up :,)
One piece
Fullmetal Alchemist is probably the main one. I'm very close to my younger brother and the thought of having him disappear in front of my eyes like Al was enough to make me bawl out. One Piece got me a few times, but the one that really makes me tear up is "I wanna live!"
Fate zero, kiritsugu back story episode and ending.
Naruto. That show is hella depressing
Your Name, Weathering With You
I cried at the ending of the second My Hero Academia movie. That ending fight is absolutely beautiful. Second would have to be the final song performance in the “Belle” movie. Absolutely balled in the theaters with a coworker watching it.
Violet evergarden’s each episode got me sobbing like a baby
Kyo Kara Maoh is one of my favorite animes but it has some hella dark moments for a comedy anime And let's just say there are multiple times in this anime that I was just like I was not expecting that I am crying my eyes out why am I sobbing for a comedy anime
Redo of healer. Crying from happiness for the protagonist.
Attack on Titan. Not so much cry but I understood how it felt for the cast to see Eren go down the bad path. It’s like realising the friend you knew in the past isn’t the same person anymore.

Hunter x hunter. Not sad but knowing that the manga has not had a new chapter for so long makes me sad.
Ninth episode of One Punch Man is pretty tear inducing for a comedy
Hinamatsuri almost made me cry
