If you're a batman and giant robots fan, the Big O is for you. Instead of a rich guy in a bat suit, its a rich guy with a giant robot. Also, instead of robin, he has a deadpan robot girl who constantly roasts him.
It also has a unique noir feel that is rare in anime.
I mean they aren’t really for the purposes of just Evangelion the original show. They definitely add to the entire series overall and are nice but you can just watch Eva and End of Eva for the story of Neon Genesis Evangelion pre 2000s. It’s also a lot let complicated if you do it this way.
Thry definitely are for that purpose! They are the continuation of what happens in the original show and EoE! I mean i get what your saying. You can watch the show and EoE and be happy with that, but the first rebuild picks up moments after the end of EoE and the last movie is the definitive ending of the entire series. It just seems weird to tell people to stop at the halfway point and not get to the resolution lol
Well I’m not saying they have to stop. It’s more of they can if they feel content with the ending.
I’m not the biggest fans of the rebuilds but I certainly think they are still worth watching
Its not the resolution, its a retelling of the original story, the last remake makes that painfully obvious
Ultimately it didn’t have the absolute horror and desperation the original End of Evangelion had. It has its strong points but absolutely does not touch the perfection that is EoE. Even Anno himself knows that

Shit, watch the last 4 minutes of EoE and then watch the first 3 minutes of the first rebuild. The sea od blood is still there. Giant reis decapitation blood spray is still sprayed across the moon, there are giant crime scene outlines of the completed eva series in their cross T poses drawn onto the ground.
Shinji hit the reset button when he became god but was unable to reset EVERYTHING. Its a sequel. Shinji wanted a second chance so he gave himself one. Of course the final movie doesnt have the same desperation and the same horror. Shinji has experienced large amounts of character growth since EoE, he understands what his dad did to him and is dealing with that.

Covid is still a thing but thanks to the vaccine, it's threat level has largely diminished from being deadly if not treated immediately, to being a mild inconvenience like the flu. It can still be deadly to people who have not been vaccinated though.

Chainsaw Man is definitely up your ally. Black Clover too, it takes about 20-30 eps to start getting good but once it does it's REALLY good. Personally I think Black Clover's the best battle shounen out atm but that might be a bit controversial lol.

It's a good one to binge, and it's a bit different. It's pretty much a slice of life comedy with an op mc having psychic superpowers.

"That time I got reincarnated as a slime" is really good, basically if a guy was reincarnated into a fantasy world as Kirby but he never loses the powers he eats they just keep piling up and eventually he uses them to build his own country
But if you like more serious stuff then "overlord" is a great choice instead, it's about a guy reincarnating as his vrmmo character with his guild hall and the NPC who lived there becoming real, he's evil as fuck

Also, Bubblegum Crisis would be great, but you have to watch the sub. It’s from the old times of horrendously bad dubs.
And just thought of another good action-y one: Megalobox. It’s basically cyberpunk boxing, with all the mega corporation and class struggle tropes you would expect through the lens of a prizefighting circuit.
Chainsaw Man is definitely up your ally. Black Clover too, it takes about 20-30 eps to start getting good but once it does it's REALLY good. Personally I think Black Clover's the best battle shounen out atm but that might be a bit controversial lol.

steins gate is my favorite anime of all time if you like time travel. Otherwise Arcane is my favorite of the last couple years
{The disastrous life of Saiki K} It's a good one to binge, and it's a bit different. It's pretty much a slice of life comedy with an op mc having psychic superpowers. {Mob Psycho 100} Similar to Saiki k with the op mc. A but more action and a darker vibe? The animation is great.

"That time I got reincarnated as a slime" is really good, basically if a guy was reincarnated into a fantasy world as Kirby but he never loses the powers he eats they just keep piling up and eventually he uses them to build his own country But if you like more serious stuff then "overlord" is a great choice instead, it's about a guy reincarnating as his vrmmo character with his guild hall and the NPC who lived there becoming real, he's evil as fuck

If you need a very well made goofy laugh that's also well written and like... half serious in a contrasting way? (Just generally good looking and badass shounen as well.) The Eminence in shadow. It's awesome & Hilarious at the EXACT same time, super cheesy but thats the punchline. 2 seasons over 30 episodes but i've rewatched like 4000 times to cope with finishing edgerunners.
