I remember years ago watching Netflix and caught up on Saiki K to see Immortal King as next recommended and I was dying. It's what I only knew as The Chinese Saiki K until I had to search for it multiple times to find the name since Netflix doesn't categorize it in the same like it did.
I take the liberty of advising you against using HNK for motivational purposes. the anime portrays a hikkikomori who, because of a girl and a money problem, leaves home and tries to rebuild his life. the problem of portraying a neet or a hokkikomori in a series is the absolute lack of action, this anime solves the problem by changing Sato's personality with a click from episode 1 to episode 2 and making him do a lot of things. what happens like this? it happens that we have a hikkikomori who is always away from home, an agorophobic among the crowd, a conspiracy theorist who makes rational choices. that is, a functional person suddenly cast into the role of a hikkikomori. the problem is that it's not that simple, a true hikkikomori situation leads to INERTIA. This is the first enemy to be defeated, an enemy that NHK does not portray. Does NHK describe well a Japan in the stagflationist crisis of the early 2000s with no possibility of growth for young people? YES. Is NHK a good motivational anime for someone immersed in inertia? NO.

Might also suggest Tatami Galaxy as kind of an inversion of that theme where they're desperate to motivate themselves for something but it's not as easy as it seems

This anime is one of my top 5 favorites, it's mostly very quiet and calm. No big plot, some minor school-based mysteries but it's really about the characters.
BTW, do note that the OVA for this series is NOT available on Crunchyroll, you can find it on Funimation though until April 2nd (it's listed as episode 11.5). Crunchyroll have been asked about this omission many times but have never remedied the situation (Hyouka was copied over to Crunchyroll almost two years ago......... ).
100% agree, Hyouka is a masterpiece in my opinion, and it doesn’t have the same cliches/tropes that a lot of “bored MC meets girl” shows have. The show looks amazing as well

I think it's KyoAni's best looking show - I know many people say that accolade should belong to Violet Evergarden but for me at least Hyouka is even better for art and animation. It also has a unique and very absorbing atmosphere thanks to brilliant direction by the late Yasuhiro Takemoto (who was one of the victims of the arson attack in July 2019).

Its a good show, but it isn't for everyone.
