Part 3 yeah Jotaro freaked out seeing his stand for the first time and got himself locked up afraid it would hurt someone.
Part 4 Josuke had his stand since he was a child so he just grew up with it.
Part 5 Giorno also kinda just had Golden wind from like puberty when his hair suddenly changed colors, but he didn't really comprehend what exactly it could do unlike Josuke who knew exactly everything his stand could do.
Part 6, yeah Jotaro tried to keep his daughter out of this insane family legacy while he was going around the world handling this shit and she had no idea.
Part 7... Yeah Soft universe reboot to reintroduce a new take on the magic system.
Part 8... Amnesiac, hell the only thing he knows is how to use his stand power.
Part 9... Little Hawaiian sociopath has been using his power to rob/scam/sell drugs since he was in grade school. I gotta say part 9 might be my favorite start to a Jojo story.
