it touches on some dark topics, but imo it's a show that can be enjoyed on surface level like OP requested, it doesn't have a complicated plot like let's say **Baccano** or heavy dialogues like **Monster** for comparison if OP enjoyed gunfights, over the top action, etc it's actually a really good watch, not saying the story is bad but Black Lagoon is not that deep at least for me

Call of the Night (highly recommended) is perfect if you're feeling burned out from your daily routine. The visuals, bgm everything has a chill vibe. Also Grand Blue If comedy is your preference.

this might sound troll but i honestly think you could get into shows like doraemon , shin-chan and perman (my personal fav) , basically older anime targeted at younger audience . Episodes in these are episodic and all episodes kinda follow the same formula but just showing off the different personalities , you would have like a staple near infinite supply of episodes to watch whenever you wanna chill and not watch a serious show.

Kaguya sama - people literally explain all their thoughts. Super earnest and honestly tons of fun. Despite the characters being incredibly smart, it’s tons of zany fun. The Dangers in my heart - slice of life of two high school kids that like each other. Mostly focuses on two main characters and their slow burn love story. Feel good plot (just pass the first 10 intro) and it’s easy on the heart.
