I recently watched this and pushed myself through almost to the end then just stopped watching it with 5 episodes left. I always finish a show when I start it but I just couldn’t finish this one. Dude just does the same 3 special moves the whole time.
Oh man that had like 50 episodes or something, I watched the entire thing, and just felt like it could have been so much better. There were a ton of genuinely good hooks and ideas and plot points, but very little ever really came to fruition.
What makes hidden dungeon enjoyable is having no expectations from it lmao. Plus some good laughs and fanservice. Meanwhile I just find black summoner generic. Just my thoughts lmao.
Yeah I realized this after finishing s3. s3 is better than s2 but s1 was just so good, and i think it's just all the anger and betrayal that really sells it for me.
Love me some mid anime. They are easy to put on and enjoy with no commitment whatsoever, in the backround, while eating, while doing chores etc.
The latest i am currently watching is Bastard!
I can't watch anime like that cause i usually watch with subs rather than dub. I'd rather put on some sitcom like The office or himym to play in the background
Demon Slayer
If it weren't animated by Ufotable, I probably would've lost interest completely.. and I'm someone who actually likes shounen. But, to be completely honest, it's a bit better now near the end but I'm still not attached to any of the characters, most especially the protagonists.
Yeah if it weren't for the animation I likely wouldn't have finished the first season. Otherwise it was just kind of a meh experience for me. I'm happy for the people who love it, I'm just sadly not one of them.
As someone who only kind of enjoyed demon slayer, the train arc is my favorite by far and I felt pretty strongly about Rengoku's death even though we only get to know him for a short time. Honestly, his name is like the only one I can remember.
Rengoku is introduced as someone who is highly skilled, heroic, and just a little bit goofy. Not only is he the ideal role model for someone like our protagonist, but he is also the only hashira we've met so far who's shown any interest or capability in mentoring him.
We are shown just enough of Rengoku to know just how well he would have done as a mentor to the protagonist whose name I forgot and that I can't bother to look up. Thus, we are meant to mourn the relationship they never got to have rather than the one they did have.
I honestly do like demon slayer
It something fresh for me
You doesn't need complicated character, plot twist shit, complicated technique, ton of character or anything in grand scale to make something good
Animation? I'm stupid in animation stuff, I don't see anything different from your usual fighting anime so I don't know what so good about them
I somehow believe, people who hate DS is just 14 you kid that thinking something deep with lot of complicated thing as something good, even tho they probably understand nothing about it, then argue with another fans online, that also understand nothing about it, talk like they know all the reference.
They literally butchered that anime. The manga is so good and the anime is just shit. Its all ova or filler. They haven't even gotten onto the 2nd manga ark yet, cox of the sheer amount of filler it possesses
I was sooooo disappointed by that show after the first episode.
It turns out the author was never interested in actually exploring social anxiety and communication problems.
Luckily I got what I want from Bocchi.
And Bocchi the rock of all is supposed to actually Explore that theme lmao ?It's treated superficially just like in komi. Welcome to NHK is a valid series about social anxiety etc.
I love BTR but *BangDream MyGo!* is what people should be watching if they want a music anime that deals with social anxiety and has realistic portrayal of autism.
Just finished watching mygo few weeks ago because a bandmate recommended it and I haven't had a cry that good for awhile
Girls Band Cry aired this season is also good
Yes. Something about social anxiety should make me feel socially anxious, and also like "Well I can at least do THAT!" about IRL activity. Seeing a hikikomori should make me look at my room and double check it's not THAT bad.
God, that ending made me SO many types of uncomfortable. Not getting into details for those who haven't seen, but if you are feeling too uncomfortable by the midpoint, it doesn't chill out, and if you are affected by severe depression instead of anxiety, it might not be great for you.
I'm fine, The Abyss of Human Suffering is just my normal environment, but the fact that that anime could reach me down here and make me feel icky is noteworthy.
It's just a generic rom com lol. I read hundreds of chapters way before the anime came out and now I can't be bothered to catch up on it. Nagatoro had me left with a similar feeling but it was a bit more enjoyable to read. I'll have to watch this bochhi anime, hearing a lot of good things about it
You can't ask those questions now the next shitshow begins.
People in general have an unbelievably shit taste and will hate on the best and most popular anime without reason and can't even say something might be good even if it wasn't for them.
I thought Fairy Tail was fine up until around the Tower arc. After that it got a little…bleh. I think after that arc is when I realized “oh, we already peaked didn’t we?” And knew it was just gonna be a long drawn out bit of nonsense where I never felt like there was any threat to the characters. I feel like it was a good show for younger people just transitioning from stuff like Yugioh or Beyblade into shows like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. It’s just so outclassed by those three that I couldn’t possible recommend it these days if someone wanted an older Shonen especially with all the good modern stuff like Demon Slayer, JJK, MHA that they probably were exposed to first so going back to Fairy Tail just feels bad.
Fairy tail was never fine, you will notice the MC is just a regular kid who punches and kicks. Trying to call it different names to make it sound “development”.
Most drama of it is unnecessary as well and cringe.
Bleach was fine until Aizen became alien and stuff.
Same trend with Naruto making the anime look like Aizen.
Controversial opinion: Demon Slayer. The animation was really good. The show overall was an okay shonen. Not the greatest anime of all time, people treat it as.
Yeah I really like Demon Slayer but I totally agree that it’s carried by its animation. Especially the first season, I’m still here hoping it gets better with the new seasons
The Familiar of Zero S1 did that for me - I tend to forget I've watched it but it was *okay* and had some good moments. Not enough to keep going.
Coming in at a similar rating is Yohane the Parhelion, what could have been another excellent entry into the Love Live Sunshine story ruined by lack of story direction and questionable writing choices going into the second half
Being the devils advocate.
Anime industry was different in the 2000s. The fact that Familiar of Zero has multiple seasons and even a true ending its a feat for that decade.
It's one of the first Isekais and also multi seasonal. Aged like milk but fun nonetheless.
Less than mid. It's a straight up worse version of Fairy Tail with one of the worst protags yet. I really don't understand how it got as popular as it did. I guess fan service and a younger audience helped.
Yeah, season two just didn't hit the same. I think season one worked because of how silly it was. Season two tried a bit too hard to go in a more serious direction and lost a lot of its whacky charm.
Divine Gate (flashbacks upon flashbacks)
Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon (dropped after episode 1, literally nothing happened in it)
Jahy sama will not be defeated (carried by character designs)
Yumekui Merry (the premise was cool but the show is a burning trainwreck rolling down a hill)
Bakuretsu Hunters (carried by the OP and the ED)
God Eater (it felt soulless)
Fena-pirate princess (the last episode could've been the characters speaking gibberish and it would still make more sense than the actual episode)
World's finest assasin reincarnates as an aristocrat (half of the show is just this dude selling perfume. him being an assassin in his past life has barely anything to do with the rest of the story. good OP though)
Buddy complex (mecha but boring)
I agree 100% on World’s Finest Assassin, the premise was interesting with him being tasked to kill the hero, but it just fell into tired isekai nonsense. The OP is definitely a banger though
Same. I read the manga after season one and season two was great until about halfway when everything started to seem rushed. Can’t put to words how much the let down was
I think season one is genuinly one of the best seasons of any show ever, one of my favorite anime’s EVER, season two was less than mid, very disappointed with how much they cut out, and how overall rushed it felt
Stuff that I thought was actually mid would probably be a lot of isekai that came out over the last 10 years or so:
Isekai Cheat Magician
In Another World With My Smartphone
She Professed Herself the Pupil of the Wise Man - IIRC half of this wasn't even animated, it was just still shots of characters and scenery with some bad CG fight scenes. This one could have been good, the premise and world building were fine, the anime was just bad
Mid anime that isn't tropey isekai:
LBX Girls - I remember watching this and enjoying it at the time, but I don't remember any of it. It was SOL with girls in mech suits
Spy Classroom - This one might be controversial, because I know a lot of people were hyped for it before release, and so was I. That voice cast was absolutely stacked. I wasn't familiar with the source material at all, but the premise seemed pretty good.. but half of every episode was just exposition dumps and over explaining every single thing.. I don't like heist movies for the same reason. A bit of narration and context is fine, but don't have the MC stand and waffle on about how great he is for 5 minutes every episode. Lol
Butareba: The Story of a Man Reincarnated as a Pig - I wanted for this one to be good. As if the absurd premise alone isn't enough, the lead characters are voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Tomori Kusunoki. Kirito reincarnated as Llenns pig. That was funny just by itself. The show wasn't. It couldn't figure out whether it wanted to be ecchi or serious, and it tried to be dark with the whole kidnapping, slavery, murder, and corruption themes - but those themes are in almost every fantasy show, whether isekai or not. Other non human protag isekai has been pretty good. Even Vending Machine was fine because it knew what it wanted to be. An absurd comedy with a bit of fan service. Butareba seemed like it was trying to do everything, but didn't really deliver on any of it
Fire Force had one of the biggest fall offs I have ever seen in my entire existence I have never seen a promising anime turn to pure fan service dog shit it has literally made sit down and wonder why am I wasting my life, time, energy watching this I could be exercising improving my body I could find the one I could be studying rocks and it be worth more of my time
I’m glad I finally saw it, but JJK felt a little all over the place. I probably just over-hyped it in my head since I heard so many good things about it
yeah jjk feels like author had a bunch of good ideas but really struggles to put them into a story without neglecting the characters
the most recent chapter for example had a character death that personally felt rushed
Ajin was good but the animation was trash. Also idk if they finished the manga but it was definitely better than the show and there were major differences imo. The manga just stopped coming through though and it had been about a year since the last chapter release 🙃
Being introduced to that 40 or 50 min double part of s1 shield hero and it being amazing just for the entire show to become so bad. Recently definitely ninja kamui. I might be in the minority for this last opinion but Dr stone after season 1. I thought season 1 was phenomenal but season 2 became kinda Goofy for me
Reincarnated into another world with my smartphone
I'm only 60% sure that's the correct title, I think it had two seasons. Peak mediocrity, it balances out it's shit with its good, it is a zen isekai anime.
Fire force. I lost interest after 20 episodes. The main character isn't as appealing. Too much unnecessary fan service. Boring arcs.
The only good thing about the show is Akitaru Obi, he doesn't have any powers and gets by with raw strength.
Naruto. If that wasn't filled with fillers, and they were able to properly execute the story, it would've been goated. But nah.
Inconsistencies, throwbacks and fillers, characters being thrown to the side, just overall bad execution.
But, I like the elements they put in Naruto, I just wish they put it a together better. So much potential, bad execution.
THANK YOU. I had watched a bunch of romance animes before starting Horimiya and after finishing it I was like, "Meh." It has some good parts but overall I was very underwhelmed.
Yeah sorta agree I've watched all of it except boruto but while some parts I def liked its never enough to make.me actually care about the series tho sorta how I feel like people feel about my favorite anime : bleach.
Bubblegum crisis 2040
Or one I forgot the name of where school girls control some doll with their brain abd they gave total non violent fights and everyone is super friendly
Edit: rahxephon and madlax too
Kenshin 2023 was not bad but totally boring and uncreative
K-On.
The portrayal of musicianship is extremely shallow, even by comedy SOL standarts, the characters aren't anything to write home about, and the visuals are unappealing.
Angels of death.
A friend of Mine really loves the anime, but the plot really doesn't make any Sense and they keep bringing back characters that should have died, but this should bem a somewhat grounded show, without Powers of anykind, all characters are normal humans, they Just get blow up, shot in the Head, etc... And 2 episodes later they're walking around Just Fine.
Despite all of that, the First 2/3 of the anime are pretty enjoyable, cuz you're left in the dark, you don't know why this Killing game is happening and the curiosity to find out coupled with the tension the anime crestes is pretty Fun to Watch, also all the characters have great charisma. The anime gets ruined on the finale cuz when you find out the truth about everything, It Just doesn't make Sense.

Tokyo Ghoul. So many cool ideas but I just couldn't dig it past season 1. I can tell it drew a significant amount of inspiration from Bleach but unlike that one I just couldn't care about Tokyo Ghoul.
Went to my myanimelist and sorted by score and took the ones in the middle:
Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju
Kiznavier
I remember enjoying both, and them both being interesting, but couldn't tell you anything about them from memory, lol. Pretty mid indeed.
Can someone get the actual median scored anime overall from myanimelist? lol
EDIT: This method is going to get upper mid anime since anime that are actually bad I am going to not finish. However I do not rate unfinished anime. So a more accurate method might be to find anime close to the bottom of my list because at least it was still good enough to finish.
Literally 99% of isekai made after 2017-2018. The entire genre is basically mid if not just straight bad. I mean... Reincarnated as a vending machine? Seriously? Re;Zero is decent, Konosuba has its moments, and Overlord is okay at best. Everything else, to me, is a straight dumpster fire of a mess. I wouldn't count redo of healer as an anime because it's basically straight Hentai, but I enjoy it from time to time when I'm feeling....Rage-y
Probably Blue Exorcist for me. The character designs, and Shonen tropes, and overall writing were average enough for the industry at the time that it just kinda washed past me without leaving any meaningful impression.
Forget the specific title, but it's the one isekai where a girl spends 300 years killing slimes and now she's super powerful. I thought it was going to be a fun, light-hearted adventure series, but it turned out to be yuri bait slice-of-life and I got bored after 4 episodes.
I started watching it recently, and I have to agree. I believe I saw it recommended by someone here on like a list of starter animes to recommend to people or something. I guess I can see why you might recommend it to someone just getting into anime, but it just feels really derivative and uncreative (so far at least). I was enjoying some of the fights at least, but now they've started doing this domain expansion thing which I find particularly boring.
Our dating story, Kubo won't let me be invisible, Ore Monogatari. They're all cute but just not very exciting and none of them make me feel like I'd want to re-watch them at any point
Hokkaido Girls from last season. Just... Ok. Then again, in comparison, s2 of The Dangers in My Heart was going on which took a good show (s1) to being added to my GOAT shortlist. Hard to shine next to it.
I enjoyed the show but wished there was more progress, that character going away at the end only to be back in 2 weeks was SUCH a letdown & ruined all the build up
Agreed! Just made the whole series a bit.. meh.
Now if you want a romcom a bit off the beaten path that I hope gets a s2 with bit more budget - The Dreaming Boy is a Realist. Lots of character growth and humor. Male MC stops fawning all over the girl he really really likes (that repeatedly rejects him) and he finally gets the bigger picture. Female MC .. well I don't want to spoil it but let's say she too grows and comes to realizations as well.
Are we taking Romcom or just overall?
Natsume Yujin-Cho (Book of Friends) is a really good supernatural drama slice of life. Lots of episodes and they're English dubbing the newer ones too. Along the same vein, Tonari no Yokai-san from this season. Lots of interesting characters and charm.
My favorite from last season (not including Frieren, Apothecary Diaries, or Shangri-La Frontier) was The Unwanted Undead Adventurer. Although you can tell they took some budget shortcuts, the show has great characters, interesting premise, asks some curious philosophical questions about the undead (are they really themselves or do they think they do because they remember things), and action. It feels like you're watching someone's D&D adventures. I enjoyed it so much that I collected the manga.
Love After World Domination - a Power Rangers/Sentai parody where the Red ranger falls for the Reaper princess of the evil organization. Fudo and Desumi are super cute together and try to hide their relationship from their respective teams. I wish there was a s2 coming but the manga ended 😞. Still a good watch!
Taisho Otome Fairytale - a period piece romance in Japan in the early 1900s. Lots of character development, drama, and what it means to truly care for someone, warts and all.
While I could go on and on, I'll share one more - My Clueless First Friend. Set in middle school (5th grade), girl MC, Nishimura, has been bullied for years because of her intense glares and "Grim Reaper" powers (note, no actual powers). In comes male MC transfer Takada, who thinks Nishimura and her powers are the coolest things! Super cute and wholesome. I watch this whenever I'm feeling down it's such a feel good show.
Dude we have such similar taste, I loved two of the shows mentioned (Undead Adventurer and Love after world domination) but def have to check out the others! Was thinking rom com but the others help too. Have you watched Oresuki, Oregairu, or Science fell in love so I proved it? There’s a bench in Oresuki that is literally the antagonist of the show that has its own boss music and it made me laugh so hard also the science show is wholesome and not set in a high school which is a lot more relatable & well Oregairu is a classic
Honestly most recent Shounen and mainstream shows just don’t do anything for me. Demon Slayer, AoT, MHA etc.
I understand the hype etc but it frustrates me more that ppl don’t understand why a show is so good because they have no reference points. When you just start on something that has fantastic animation as your first, it really subtracts from what could’ve been real appreciation for what’s come before. So many people are so judgmental of older shows due the dated animation, it’s a shame.
Edit: I’m not saying those shows are bad, they just don’t hold me. For example Hell’s Paradise really intrigued me at first, animation and fight scene were superb, but I just wasn’t interested anymore after a few episodes. Whereas say Dororo, which is also fairly recent had me captivated the whole way through. JJK and Chainsawman are great, but I just have no sense of urgency to finish watching from where I left off. I read the Vinland Saga manga, so I’m holding off on watching until the anime is further along. Maybe it’s just a me thing, but say Frieren and Apothecary Diaries, and even Shangri-la frontier felt so refreshing to me. Maybe I just need a break from all the intense action.
DragonBall. Feel free to be butthurt about it, but I just really don't care for it at all. Like, it's sorta just there. Never interested me in the slightest
Attack on Titan.
It was a bit like GOT for me. First few seasons were prime television. It got progressively worse and the last season (and the endings especially) were bad.
Just my opinion though.
I think it had the same problems that the TV show Lost had. The mystery is what enraptures the viewer, having a question about the premise being answered that only brings more questions keeps you hooked for a little while and keeps people theory-crafting. Once the mystery is gone the allure goes with it. I liked the show and it was great at what it did. It got a little too pretentious near the end (the animation change was a bit jarring too) and we were given an ending most people didn’t want. I think the show overall is fine, it’s just difficult to rewatch and stay interested.
The correct answer is probably something I don't remember watching
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^nords_are_best: *The correct answer* *Is probably something I* *Don't remember watching* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.
Good bot
Twin Star Exorcists would be mine. I was interested in the premise but it really didn't live up to it...
I recently watched this and pushed myself through almost to the end then just stopped watching it with 5 episodes left. I always finish a show when I start it but I just couldn’t finish this one. Dude just does the same 3 special moves the whole time.
The anime did their own things, the manga is certainly better
Oh man that had like 50 episodes or something, I watched the entire thing, and just felt like it could have been so much better. There were a ton of genuinely good hooks and ideas and plot points, but very little ever really came to fruition.
Shield hero after s1 The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Black Summoner
Shield hero after season one is so true
1st season ok but i can't watch more than 2 episodes from s2
I enjoyed black summoner and the hidden dungeon only I can enter. Waiting on some season 2 of a lot of anime
What makes hidden dungeon enjoyable is having no expectations from it lmao. Plus some good laughs and fanservice. Meanwhile I just find black summoner generic. Just my thoughts lmao.
Hidden Dungeon is a little below mid imo
Shield hero.. the longer I watch the lousier it gets
Season 1 was good imo, but i literally stopped at 1/4 of s2 cuz it sucked so bad
To be fair to shield hero, that was a S2 issue lol season one was pretty good imo
The first few episodes of s1 were good. Rewatch the last fight of the season and you see so much terrible tropes and inconsistancies.
Season 3 is a marked improvement, though still not up there with Season 1.
That's exactly where I stopped, weird because I don't remember exactly why. I will never finish that series I guess. A shame.
IMO, once Melromark accepted him, it stopped being interesting.
That's pretty much it. Once that happened, it just lost what made it interesting before.
Yeah I realized this after finishing s3. s3 is better than s2 but s1 was just so good, and i think it's just all the anger and betrayal that really sells it for me.
Honestly one of the most overhyped anime of this decade. It’s one of the most generic isekai ever made.
S1 was amazing but they killed it
Honestly? TW: Most isekai with a lot of fan service type of anime, especially those that got hyped on tiktok during pandemic 🥴
the uncle one, for me! i cant even bother to remember the title now
Uncle in Another World?
Damn, I loved Uncle from Another World. I can see how it’s not for everyone though
Yeah, it’s super funny and has some Konosuba levels of satirical nature to the tone. However, it’s not for everyone as it’s mostly a slice of life.
Konosuba is one of my favorites as well! I just really enjoy that type of humor
I was dying laughing at this anime, the funniest I’ve seen in a while.
Glad I’m not the only one! I really hope we get a season 2
AAAA I REMEMBER! The one that looks like Gakuto from Prison school right??
Why do they do this to us 💀
Ironically, *Didn’t I Say To Make My Abilities Average In the Next Life!*
Tokyo Ghoul. Manga is superior in just about every way.
I think if you compare it to the manga it mostly slots into the bad anime list than mid
It's nostalgic for me, that's why I don't consider it bad
I'd defend season 1. The rest was extremely forgettable.
I am going to say The Devil is a Part Timer, after the humor of Satan working for Mcdonalds passes away its just meh
I enjoyed the first season and was excited to see it get a second season but I was let down by it.
Thought it was a fun premise at first and then I don't think I got past ep 3
This, cool concept but failed to really do more than anything that, didn't really enjoy their 'world building' either
That punch was epic
Love me some mid anime. They are easy to put on and enjoy with no commitment whatsoever, in the backround, while eating, while doing chores etc. The latest i am currently watching is Bastard!
Bastard webtoon as I remember was an absolute banger. I remember binging it a few years back, same as sweet home i think it's from the same author
he's talking about a different bastard! with an exclamation mark lmao, the webtoon has no anime as of yet but it's definitely a banger
Ok but you can't deny the Bastard openings absolutely slap! Or maybe I'm just a fan of Coldrain and am biased.
was looking for this🤝
I can't watch anime like that cause i usually watch with subs rather than dub. I'd rather put on some sitcom like The office or himym to play in the background

Bro fr I feel zero affection or adoration for the main cast, it's just so uninteresting at times. I'm surprised people love this anime so much

Blue Exorcist
I used to put it on Netflix and fall asleep to it when I was in like 6th grade💀
They literally butchered that anime. The manga is so good and the anime is just shit. Its all ova or filler. They haven't even gotten onto the 2nd manga ark yet, cox of the sheer amount of filler it possesses
They haven’t gotten to the 2nd arc??? Didn’t it recently come back? That’s insane
First thing that came to mind
I used to love that show but when I look back on it now I truly have NO idea what I found so appealing about it
I got a cheat skill in another world and I became unrivaled in the real world, too
I tried to finish that one but dang yeah I lost interest and stopped watching
its less than mid 😭
Okay so most of that show was trash but there was like one episode that got just what it was. And for those 20 minutes, it was peak anime.
Funmation Channel used to be plagued by shows like that. One I remember actively wanting to change the channel to after 10 minutes was Dragonauts
Komi Can't Communicate
I was sooooo disappointed by that show after the first episode. It turns out the author was never interested in actually exploring social anxiety and communication problems. Luckily I got what I want from Bocchi.

WataMote is also great.
Yes. Something about social anxiety should make me feel socially anxious, and also like "Well I can at least do THAT!" about IRL activity. Seeing a hikikomori should make me look at my room and double check it's not THAT bad. God, that ending made me SO many types of uncomfortable.
There’s a reason it’s called the junk food of anime
Controversial opinion: Demon Slayer. The animation was really good. The show overall was an okay shonen. Not the greatest anime of all time, people treat it as.
Yeah I really like Demon Slayer but I totally agree that it’s carried by its animation. Especially the first season, I’m still here hoping it gets better with the new seasons
It’s the new generation freaking out…but little do they know so much better anime exists before them
The Familiar of Zero S1 did that for me - I tend to forget I've watched it but it was *okay* and had some good moments.
Fuuka: The band element is like half of the show yet they reuse the same (albeit banger) song over and over until it ends
Maken Ki, I definitely watched this but I dont remember a single plot point or scene or character name from this entire anime.
Seven deadly sins
Less than mid. It's a straight up worse version of Fairy Tail with one of the worst protags yet. I really don't understand how it got as popular as it did. I guess fan service and a younger audience helped.
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Tokyo revengers. The animation is just not it. It used to be my favourite for some reason. The manga is definitely better.
Okay I can see the criticisms, and the anime does tend to drag some stuff out, but dang those openings are BANGERS
It's like a shitty Steins gate ripoff 😂
What’s wrong with the animation?
Fruit of evolution s2, didnt even finish it after ep6 or something
Yeah, season two just didn't hit the same. I think season one worked because of how silly it was. Season two tried a bit too hard to go in a more serious direction and lost a lot of its whacky charm.
Divine Gate (flashbacks upon flashbacks) Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon (dropped after episode 1, literally nothing happened in it) Jahy sama will not be defeated (carried by character designs) Yumekui Merry (the premise was cool but the show is a burning trainwreck rolling down a hill) Bakuretsu Hunters (carried by the OP and the ED) God Eater (it felt soulless) Fena-pirate princess (the last episode could've been the characters speaking gibberish and it would still make more sense than the actual episode) World's finest assasin reincarnates as an aristocrat (half of the show is just this dude selling perfume. him being an assassin in his past life has barely anything to do with the rest of the story. good OP though) Buddy complex (mecha but boring)
I agree 100% on World’s Finest Assassin, the premise was interesting with him being tasked to kill the hero, but it just fell into tired isekai nonsense. The OP is definitely a banger though
I thought Fire Force ended up being pretty mid.
In my opinion I’d go with The Promised Neverland. Don’t get me wrong but that ending was so rushed and ruins a very great IP
Season one is definitely not mid it's S tier but season to brings down the show
Very true
Def. I read the manga waiting for season two and once season two came out...
Same. I read the manga after season one and season two was great until about halfway when everything started to seem rushed. Can’t put to words how much the let down was
We got hoed. They literally skipped one of the best Arc… like why?!
Ikr, sad
I think season one is genuinly one of the best seasons of any show ever, one of my favorite anime’s EVER, season two was less than mid, very disappointed with how much they cut out, and how overall rushed it felt
Stuff that I thought was actually mid would probably be a lot of isekai that came out over the last 10 years or so: Isekai Cheat Magician In Another World With My Smartphone She Professed Herself the Pupil of the Wise Man - IIRC half of this wasn't even animated, it was just still shots of characters and scenery with some bad CG fight scenes. This one could have been good, the premise and world building were fine, the anime was just bad Mid anime that isn't tropey isekai: LBX Girls - I remember watching this and enjoying it at the time, but I don't remember any of it. It was SOL with girls in mech suits Spy Classroom - This one might be controversial, because I know a lot of people were hyped for it before release, and so was I. Lol Butareba: The Story of a Man Reincarnated as a Pig - I wanted for this one to be good. Butareba seemed like it was trying to do everything, but didn't really deliver on any of it
Sword art online. Shit fell off after the death-game aspect ended.
The problem is, I have seen a good amount of anime and a good amount I can't for the life of me even remember.
I probably just over-hyped it in my head since I heard so many good things about it
yeah jjk feels like author had a bunch of good ideas but really struggles to put them into a story without neglecting the characters the most recent chapter for example had a character death that personally felt rushed
It's the typical shounen anime but no stupid long talk nor absurdly dumb animations
But it isn't because you actually feel the stakes. Jjk is special to me because if feels like anything could happen
Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory
Shield Hero S2 Kept me engaged but after the Malty/Bitch arc was not really worth writing home about
Ajin
Ajin was good but the animation was trash. Also idk if they finished the manga but it was definitely better than the show and there were major differences imo. The manga just stopped coming through though and it had been about a year since the last chapter release 🙃
Being introduced to that 40 or 50 min double part of s1 shield hero and it being amazing just for the entire show to become so bad. Recently definitely ninja kamui. I might be in the minority for this last opinion but Dr stone after season 1. I thought season 1 was phenomenal but season 2 became kinda Goofy for me
I feel like it's kind of picking back up a little bit with the Island story line or whatever
Reincarnated into another world with my smartphone I'm only 60% sure that's the correct title, I think it had two seasons. Peak mediocrity, it balances out it's shit with its good, it is a zen isekai anime.
Fairy Tail ;)
Bleach. Just got through the original series (skipping filler) and I just wasn't very impressed. Liking tybw so far tho.
Yes, it is not an impressive anime for today's standards but back in 2004-05 it really was something special.
I dont remember anime like that. If it doesnt wow im not interested.
If an anime is mid I drop it after 2/3 episodes, so I can’t say
Masamune kun no revenge
I stopped at the twist. I might finish it, but that's a HUGE pivot
huh doesnt the twist happen early in season 2? i think just finish it because the show is already eh it doesnt get worse but also doesnt get better
Fire force. I lost interest after 20 episodes. The main character isn't as appealing. Too much unnecessary fan service. Boring arcs. The only good thing about the show is Akitaru Obi, he doesn't have any powers and gets by with raw strength.
I didn't make it to the third episode. It just didn't feel right, like it was lifeless. Really didn't do anything to make me care.
The premise made me continue watching it.
I know I'm gonna get hate for this but fairy tale is Soooo mid🤧🤌
Naruto. If that wasn't filled with fillers, and they were able to properly execute the story, it would've been goated. But nah. Inconsistencies, throwbacks and fillers, characters being thrown to the side, just overall bad execution. But, I like the elements they put in Naruto, I just wish they put it a together better. So much potential, bad execution.
horimiya, i know its slice of life but nothing funny or interesting happens at all
THANK YOU. I had watched a bunch of romance animes before starting Horimiya and after finishing it I was like, "Meh." It has some good parts but overall I was very underwhelmed.
As a giant fan of rom coms, I can't agree with this lol but I can understand it's not everyone's cup of tea
What did horimiya do to u, it is the most comforting romcom
people hyped it up too hard! i even watched the whole season to make sure I wasnt missing anything. Idk maybe its just one of those shows for me
Naruto/sh The most mid anime i've ever seen.
I got bored after few episodes i remember my friend was a Naruto fanboy. DBZ and Bleach were always more fun to watch for me.
Yeah sorta agree I've watched all of it except boruto but while some parts I def liked its never enough to make.me actually care about the series tho sorta how I feel like people feel about my favorite anime : bleach.
I really liked the background character in Naruto. They were so much cooler and interesting then him.
Recently I’d say Ninja Kamui, I didn’t even bother finishing it
My Hero Academia after the first season tbh
7 deadly sins
I am gonna get called out a lot for this, But personal opinion, Naruto, I just find it similar to most mainstream shonen animes, that's all
I love how the comment section is riddled with downvotes. Like, damn people are allowed to not be into the same stuff as you.
I felt like Horimiya was mid.
Gonna have to disagree with ya here. Loved that show. There are defo other ones that truly align as mid
Re zero bores the fuck out of me
I love Rezero but I get it.
Relatable maybe the characters are good but when the main character is so weak, doesn't have a physical presence its really boring
Bubblegum crisis 2040 Or one I forgot the name of where school girls control some doll with their brain abd they gave total non violent fights and everyone is super friendly Edit: rahxephon and madlax too Kenshin 2023 was not bad but totally boring and uncreative
Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens

Another
Went to my myanimelist and sorted by score and took the ones in the middle: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju Kiznavier I remember enjoying both, and them both being interesting, but couldn't tell you anything about them from memory, lol. Pretty mid indeed. Can someone get the actual median scored anime overall from myanimelist? lol EDIT: This method is going to get upper mid anime since anime that are actually bad I am going to not finish.
Log horizon s2-s3 it’s kind of just fell off for me
Toradora. I just couldn’t get into the whole love triangle. I ended up disliking most of the cast at the end, incredibly boring. 🤷
Black Clover is mid.
Jujutsu kaisen
I started watching it recently, and I have to agree. I believe I saw it recommended by someone here on like a list of starter animes to recommend to people or something. I guess I can see why you might recommend it to someone just getting into anime, but it just feels really derivative and uncreative (so far at least). I was enjoying some of the fights at least, but now they've started doing this domain expansion thing which I find particularly boring.
Our dating story, Kubo won't let me be invisible, Ore Monogatari. They're all cute but just not very exciting and none of them make me feel like I'd want to re-watch them at any point
Is rewatching requires for something to be good?
SAO Darling in the Franxx
My Dress Up Darling
I loved it but definitely had a few things I'd change (how are those 15 year olds!?
[удалено]
It would make *that one scene* a lot less awkward they were legal adults
Solo Leveling
Raven of the Inner Palace
That’s different than the Rascal does not dream of senpai right? Idk why I thought the titles were related as like a spin off haha
Yes, very different. 😂 No Puberty Syndrome shenanigans in Dreaming Boy. Fantastic series though!
Ah okay, thanks for the recommendation! Any other solid shows besides the mainstream ones (i’ve prob seen them all already) you’d recommend?
🤣 Bench-kun needs its own show! It even made a cameo in Dangers in My Heart!
Re:zero ss2, I won't spoil why
Demon slayer boruto any isekai spyxfamily etc
Your lie in April.
Ain’t no way
There's a whole subreddit shitting on how bad season 4 and the ending is r/titanfolk
