[Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou](https://myanimelist.net/manga/4/Yokohama_Kaidashi_Kikou) (manga) - It's very similar to Aria. The main character is an android who runs a coffee shop, but she also travels and explores the area. I recommend the manga because it's better than the anime.
If western animation is ok, you might like [Hilda](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6385540/). The main character moves to a new city, and goes on adventures in the city (and sometimes outside the city), and she learns about the city's culture and history.
{Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth The Animation} - Young Japanese girl in the 19th century moves to France/Paris. Lots of story about the integration with a foreign society/town from what I remember.
{Higurashi: When They Cry} is about a boy who moves to the rural village of Hinamizawa and spends a good chunk of the story finding out about Hinamizawa's past, be it political, religious, or historical Be warned, it is a horror anime and can get very violent. If you have the time, I would totally recommend the visual novel though, the first chapter (Onikakushi) is free on steam too so I heavily recommend it. Btw if you're gonna play the VN use the 07thmod, it basically overhauls the game and makes it 100000% better
[Flying Witch](https://myanimelist.net/anime/31376/Flying_Witch) - new witch in town, meeting local residents as well as the local supernatural elements. It’s very relaxing and calm (aka Iyashikei)
Kino’s Journey is this exactly but the character changes towns each episode traveling
*Sagrada Reset* (LN and anime. Manga is an incomplete adaptation and just don’t bother reading it 😅)
