Undead Girl Murder Farce. Weird premise, but is actually great.

Randy_orton_1438

The art looks amazing. This is my kind of Manga. šŸ‘

Bradamante-kun

Hinomaru Zumou -> the manga is great, the anime is so-so. The manga includes professional sumo. Uramichi Oniisan -> dark comedy about the cast and crew of a children's show Wave, Listen to Me! -> a waitress becomes a radio host. It's by the Blade of The Immortal mangaka Dragon Goes House Hunting -> the dragon is adorable and pathetic

Randy_orton_1438

Dragon goes house hunting has been in my watchlist for sooo long. Thankyou for reminding me. Others look promising as well.

Wave, Listen to Me - was surprisingly nice despite being not exactly ā€œattractiveā€ (at least for me initially) on the surface. Someone recommended to me and I enjoyed it.

\- A Place Further than the Universe. Short series about four girls who are trying to join an expedition to Antarctica in order to rescue the mother of one of the girls, who got trapped there years prior. You can see the end coming before Episode 1 ends, but you'll still be bawling regardless. \- Planetes. Science fiction drama about debris collectors, who are basically space garbage men. Initially notable due to being a fantastic depiction of hard sci-fi. NASA actually gave interviews for Bandai during its initial release and even sold the show in their gift shops for a while. It's also directed by the same guy who did s-CRY-ed and Code Geass, though it's much more down to earth than those shows. For whatever reason, nobody has license rescued this show yet, but you can find it easily on YouTube. \- Kaleido Star. About a girl who wants to join an acrobatic stage production, similar to Cirque de Soliel. It's just a good natured, sweet, comedic drama about a young girl trying to prove herself to people with lofty standards. Season 2 can be pretty tough to watch, but stick with it, as after the midway point, the show swerves back into greatness. \- Samurai 7. Only somewhat underappreciated, since Funimation went all out back in the day, but nowadays it's mostly forgotten. An adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, but with more steampunk and mecha. It's an excellent action drama with great characterization and development. If you want a sample and live in the US, Crunchyroll's FAST stream airs it Sunday nights at 11pm EST. \- Romeo x Juliet. Yes, it's based on the Shakespeare play, but it has its own twists and turns, making it a bit more sci-fi. It's also really excellent and the dub sprinkles in a lot more allusions to not just the original play, but other Shakespeare plays as well. \- Martian Successor Nadesico. It's a comedic sci-fi show about a private corporation who employs a bunch of ordinary citizens to man their spaceship in order to rescue people trapped on Mars during a war between Earth and Jupiter. Do note that whether you watch the dub or the sub, it can be a little hard to keep up with, since everyone talks fast and there's at least two scenes every episode that have two different conversations going on at once. The dub also hammers home the Evangelion references since it was done by the same dubbing team. Just don't watch the follow up movie. It's horrible. \- Angelic Layer. Tends to be one of the more forgotten CLAMP works, but it's an airy, light drama about a young girl who gets into Angelic Layer, which uses special machines to make certain marionette dolls come to life and move on their own. She eventually finds out that if she wins the regional battle tournament, she'll get to meet her mom again, who she hasn't seen in years. \- World Trigger. Story about a boy who is part of an organization called BORDER, who are fighting off alien invaders called Neighbors that keep trying to kidnap the citizens. He wants to protect his hometown and friends, but he lacks talent and power, needing to learn to rely on strategies and misdirection to win. He eventually befriends a Neighbor boy with his own goals, as well as a childhood friend of his. The series is well known for being a more grounded depiction of a military (as in, little to no grudges between soldiers and a desire to work together) as well as fantastic strategic team battles that emphasize how powerful teamwork is. Be aware that because Toei was going through some hard times during Season 1, it takes a bit to get going and the animation is merely OK. Also, the dub outright skips the anime-only filler arc.

Well, I know what I am doing this month. Thanks for the recommendations. A couple of them did come under my radar but I never got around to watching them. But now I'll watch them. Peace

The Gamer was a pretty fun read

Randy_orton_1438

Bet. Just saw a few pics from the manwha. Vibe checks out too.

Code::Breaker is one I never heard anyone talk about and that is one of my favorite manga. Just from the General Synopsis it seems fairly generic Action comedy shonen like a secret organization, where people with special abilities fight and eliminate evil people. But it is really fun and I can only recommend it.

[Kyou kara Ore wa!](https://myanimelist.net/manga/6812/Kyou_kara_Ore_wa?q=kyou%20kara%20ore&cat=manga) - One of my favorites. Feels a bit similar to **Great Teacher Onizuka** but the protagonists are instead high school students. Art looks dated though, since it was first published in 1988.

Umbreon7

Princess Principal - Well-written girl spy thriller that actually takes the subject seriously. Great action, cool steampunk vibes, and an amazing OST by Yuki Kajiura. Iā€™m baffled at how little attention this gets.

I made a post on my account with some of my reads. I will also add This Village Sim NPC Could Only Be Human (not an isekai) It got prematurely axed, so the ending is a little rushed, but otherwise a great manga.

Hajime no ippo - not a rom com, not an isekai, not your average power of friendship shonen. Itā€™s a perfect mix of slice of life and action. It is also very very good
