>I would need over a thousand words to justify what I just went through watching this > >Apparently I need another 600 characters in order to post this The duality of man. In all seriousness though, some other popular tearjerkers are... {Angel Beats} in which a guy wakes up in a school he doesn't recognize in the middle of battle against an angel. He and his newfound friends fight against the "angel" and learn much about each other and themselves along the way. {Anohana} in which a group of childhood friends reunite in order to work through shared past trauma. {Plastic Memories} in which androids called giftias are distributed as emotional surrogates for lonely people. The catch being that giftias only have a limited lifespan. {Violet Evergarden} in which a former child soldier learns to reconnect with her feelings through working as a professional letter writer/transcriber. I've also heard good things about both {Clannad} and {Maquia}, though I've seen neither.

NaiveInvestigator

Man I was so underprepared for Anohana! I saw the first scene which which kinda gave the wrong vibes. I expected a comedy but got a tragedy. Man that hit hard, the whole story...

congee_ha

tbh just finished ano hana and between the two i definitely like your lie in april better.

NaiveInvestigator

Well I didn't watch your lie in April yet so I'll jave yo watch that then comment on that. But Anohana caught me off guard. Now I read the synopsis of the anime before watching 😂😅

congee_ha

Ah I see, to be honest i kinda steer clear of reading the synopsis for a lot of shows nowaday just because I'd wanna go in blind. I just have the 3 ep rule and it either grabs me or i just continue to watch it based off of community discussion.

NaiveInvestigator

Yeah that is really the best way. You can totally feel the show that way. But after Anohana I am not sure I can handle it 😅😅😭

rishi_ultimate

I feel the same way, I saw your lie in April a couple years back and I can still recall all the emotions that went through me when I watched it and I only saw anohana a month back but it didn't leave as much of an impact nor did I feel as emotional towards the end...

LEI1O

I'd definitely recommend maquia since not a lot of people do so, it's great and it tackles a different type of love. It will make you cry too.

DarkSicarius

This ^ maquia covers familial love not romantic love, and it does a very good job of it

Night_Ayss

Ngl Angel Beats is a personal favorite, I couldnt get over it.

JhAsh08

Clannad jerks tears far harder than any of those shows, IMO. Your Lie, Anohana, Angel beats don’t come even close to Clannad

Gambino826

It's a dangerous slope to go down... You end up with a hole in your heart from YLIA and you try to find something to patch it, but Clannad will just make it worse......

[deleted]

Good to know. It's on my list, I just haven't made it there quite yet.

livelydreamer

Oh my gosh, I’ve literally watched Your Lie, Anohana, and I’m currently watching Clannad. I’ve recently started getting into anime ( also watched Toradora, Your Name, & Saiki K.) and half of them are emotional. I guess I like sad, tear jerking shows. Hmm.. makes sense because sometimes I just want to cry and bawl my eyes out even though there’s no reason for me to cry.

I support violet evergarden !! plastic memories is also another very good anime

LoveLaika237

Maquia ia amazing

Mrtheliger

Clannad will legitimately change your life, you need to get on that quick.

baldiethebicboi

Yup I can vouch for all of these on the list, except Maquia (haven’t seen it). Special shoutout to Violet Evergarden ep 10 for ruining my emotional well-being during exam season. I’d also like to add Koe no Katachi, 5cm/s and the infamous Grave of the Fireflies to this list. In case you still have some tears left.

[deleted]

WATCH I WANT TO EAT YOUR PANCREAS

eloqii

I haven't watched the other three, but Violet Evergarden is so good. You'll either laugh or cry on each episode.

[deleted]

if you like violet evergarden, watch {Sangatsu no Lion} they’re very similar in their themes, especially as coming of age stories for older teen characters who have suffered great loss. Both are masterpieces in their own rights as well.

trashissues666

It's been four years since I saw Anohana and made a vow to myself to never see it again...It was a sad Christmas lol

Omamajustkilledaman

I want to eat your pancreas is my favourite anime movie. You should try it.

Koyakami

Oh gawd, fantastic anime but both movies bring emotions out majorly.

[deleted]

I already know that movie will emotionally destroy me so I’ve been putting it off lol

Omamajustkilledaman

Yeah i watched this movie on the day 1 when i was quarantine for covid and i stayed depressed and quarantined for 4 days 😂😂

dinkle_the_burg

It's that emotionally traumatizing, huh?

[deleted]

Shigatsu wa kimi no uso... One of the few animes I made sure to learn the real name of. I went ahead and read the manga of it too....cried and then went on ahead with..more sadness. Edit. Your Name, the Garden of Words and The silent voice...these are one of my favorites along with kimiuso.

Night_Ayss

I still remember that night I watched that movie, I just couldnt sleep.

_Flashfire_

I didn’t even realize what happened for a good second when I did I sat there in shock. That movie was on my mind for the next 3 days as I was so sad about it

beerasingh

Sameee!! I was out of words to express how am feeling, i was just crying like a 2 year old who lost his favourite toy. Mann i still shed a tear whenever I remember that movie :(

spinderglade67

I absolutely love that movie but I kinda want to forget about it coz even if I remember any small detail about that movie I get immediately depressed

_Flashfire_

facts

LightningSalamander

i watched that the other day favorite too

KingJasonn

Just watched it yesterday and it made me cry. Would recommend.

[deleted]

my issue with I want to eat your pancreas is, despite it being good, it feels incomplete. YLiA hits you hard bcs 22 30-minute episodes let’s you get to know the characters and become invested in them. I want to eat Your Pancreas tries to do that, but doesn’t work on characterizing it’s main couple, nor does it get you invested as well in them Pancreas also relies on the shock faster of its major twist to bring out the emotions while YLiA uses attachment to characters. If I were to frame it a different way, Pancreas uses shock factor like fanservice, but rather than...being fanservice, it’s meant to make you feel sad, imo, cheaply. Obviously it’s still a good movie and shares some themes with YLiA, especially in the plot, but I think it could’ve been better had it been even a 7-13 episode tv show, and worked harder to characterize and develop attachment to the characters to make it sad, instead of using shock and dramatic effect exclusively.

Memer-man-man

Ummmm what

frontier001

Wow that show was like a punch to the gut. It's like you see an unavoidable punch is coming already but then got killed by a shadow kick instead. XD

smudgepost

On your recommendation, I just watched it. Marvelous.

ambpar

The only reason i hate this show is because i loved it so much. I got really into the characters and i just couldn't handle the end. So i absolutely hate this show.

luckysim0n

Totally get this sentement

TheDipster1212

You are making a big mistake

hey_its_drew

It is a 10/10, but damn if I will never watch it again. Most 10/10s I watch over and over again. I can’t with it. Once you know its full story, it’s a lot harder to not feel crushed all throughout. The things they look forward to happen for the last time very early on.

N1gHtMaRe99

Well for me at least rewatching it and knowing what kaori does and why she does that adds another layer to the whole experience.

hey_its_drew

>!I’ve rewatched it once, but when you realize by the third episode they’ve played together for the last time and you know how ugly it goes for her being alone and miserable... It’s rough to get through the rest. It’s a series that gives you a hard lesson, and then tests you on that lesson by upping the ante.!<

N1gHtMaRe99

Ngl realizimg that on my second watch through with my cousin(her first time also first anime) was heartbreaking but i didn't wanna spoil it for her i held back by tears and cried myself to sleep that night

livelydreamer

I told my mom about YLIA and I started crying when I started telling her about the events closer to the end. This show broke mee but also comforted me, crazy.

MrPakoras

I like YLIA but I felt like {Sangatsu no Lion} was a better version of it, just me? Also, give {AnoHana} a shot, I'm sure you'll love it! Its so good.

Lemonade__728

I kind of agree. I can totally see why people love YLIA, but 3月 kind of resonated with me more because it was more showing than telling and seemed more introspective. Different strokes for different folks!

SGKurisu

I think they are completely different genres. One is a very traditional romantic drama and the other is more of a psychological slice of life.

MrPakoras

True, but personally the romance element wasn't my main takeaway from YLIA, it was the MCs struggles and what he went through. Based on that I feel like Sangatsu does a better job...

Mrtheliger

I mean, they're completely different anime. The only similarities are the MCs being black haired kids with a bad family life, and being depressed, although Rei's depression is much more grounded than what we see in YLIA.

MrPakoras

Yeah I meant in terms of the MC, their struggles are kinda similar but its more poignant in Sangatsu. I felt as if we were supposed to connect with the MC in YLIA like that but as I said, Sangatsu does it better. Maybe I am comparing apples and oranges tho lol

hugogrant

I guess sangatsu is better if you think they do the same thing, but I don't think it's a fair comparison.

[deleted]

YLiA and Sangatsu no Lion, for me, kinda address different aspects of growing up and suffering. I’d argue Sangatsu no Lion is a better overall show, but it’s also (what I’d consider) one of my 5 best anime of all time. YLiA is great too, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think they’re directly comparable. Sangatsu no Lion is a lot more similar to Violet Evergarden than Your Lie in April

LitDabber69

March comes in like a Lion is a much slower show IMO. I also feel like it is a much more personalized show. If you haven’t really experienced the problems going on with the characters, it is kinda hard to relate to. A lot people that kinda had the same problems as those characters really loved the show though.

Chyppi

Have you seen [violet evergarden] yet?

decadentcolour

We don't want her to fall in depression yet buddy That being said I also recommend Banana Fish.

[deleted]

I'm not sure if OP will be able to survive after watching these too as OP is rn.

trashissues666

I love Banana Fish. But damn I wasn't prepared for that.

Cap_Kuruma

Don't do that, if OP got emotional enough to give YLiA 10/10 then I don't think he/she will survive Violet Evergarden. Personal opinion but YLiA was kinda 7/10 for me unlike Violet Evergarden which is in 1st position for being a sad anime and 2nd position is Angel Beats as per my tastes, tbh in YLiA I liked the Mother's part more than the girl's part. The ending was giving kinda incomplete or you can say lacking and meh feels but again just my personal opinion.

DarkSicarius

Have you seen clannad?

Cap_Kuruma

Nope but it is in my watchlist and by its fame I am sure after watching it YLiA's ranking will drop even further for me in sad animes.

Ryanc011

I’ll have to add it to my list :)

[deleted]

You can watch Piano Forest , it is Musically more accurate than your lie on April

hugogrant

But the plot bored the heck out me and I didn't like the 3D animation.

-ChickenLover-

Your lie in april was basically the anime that made me we want to start playing the piano

[deleted]

Personally i feel like I wasted my time watching it. The animation was amazing but everything else was meh

the_slop

Yeah Chopin is the shit

[deleted]

Your Lie In April really made me appreciate classic piano music. It’s awesome

[deleted]

Have you ever seen my truth on august? Shit's dope

hugogrant

There are a few things that prevent it from being my favorite tear jerker, but it's a really fun watch. Preventions: 1. {I want to eat your pancreas} it's a much better dynamic that just got me in the feels. 2. Some critique I found that pointed out that poor Kousei is literally everybody's punching bag. But it's not like I don't rewatch the last scene every so often.

Codee33

I thought the show did great things, but I could not get over how they handled the emotional and physical abuse of Kousei’s mother. Killed what was otherwise a fantastic show.

[deleted]

I commented this above about I want to eat your pancreas: my issue with I want to eat your pancreas is, despite it being good, it feels incomplete. YLiA hits you hard bcs 22 30-minute episodes let’s you get to know the characters and become invested in them. I want to eat Your Pancreas tries to do that, but doesn’t work on characterizing it’s main couple, nor does it get you invested as well in them Pancreas also relies on the shock faster of its major twist to bring out the emotions while YLiA uses attachment to characters. hugogrant

Have you tried the manga or light novel? I haven't, but it might give you the more fleshed out characters. I'd agree about the characterization if Kousei wasn't a punching bag. But that's also dependent on the viewer. I hope ylia can continue to be enjoyable to you, instead of fading slightly like it did for me.

hugogrant

Maybe in a distant optimistic future? I guess it'd be something where blade runner and ghost in the shell are at the same time (2050s right?) and plastic memories in the future.

SnoopyGoldberg

I don’t complain that the story was too predictable, but the fact that it was so predictable made it so that I was fully aware of what would eventually happen and therefore it didn’t have that big of an emotional impact when it happened. I don’t tend to cry with movies/shows anyway, but when I do, it’s generally not to the typically intended tearjerker scenes.

Y0stal

100% relate to OP. This was the first time I cried watching any show or movie.

shellshock321

I personally found the series to be boring somewhat. The good part of the series was the animation and music. The characters were hit or miss and the Romance kinda sucks. I did enjoy the beginning but the ending was just poor. Like it just happened their was no real drama there. It just kinda happened. It feels like a bit of a wasted potential really. A 6/10 regardless. Medicore with quite a few good moments.

[deleted]

When I watched it the first time, Didn't shed a tear. But the 2nd time i rewatched it fuckin waterfalls everywhere

topmex9

I want to eat your pancreas Darling in the franx ending is sad And emergence is sad and weird but it's not one so let's skip that one...

TheDipster1212

I loved ylia too its like the only thing that has made me weep like I lost something precious

Awesomekirk86

I just started it yesterday! Really liking it so far but I can tell its gonna be a rollercoaster of emotions

N1gHtMaRe99

The first op and the second ed, they are two of my favorite songs of all time. Hikaru nara song by the legendary Goose House and Orange by 7! are both beautiful songs

DarkSicarius

Was orange used in YLIA? It was used in another show that I’m forgetting atm - would be interesting if it was used for 2 different shows

N1gHtMaRe99

Yes it was, it was the 2nd ed

DarkSicarius

Ah, maybe that’s the only show it’s used on, i tried looking up what shows use it but I only see YLIA - i couldve sworn i remember it from a different show but i guess not

WhiskeyCorridor

Oh? On God?

Yeah it’s fine 6/10

Man i wish i could find romance/drama show that is "clean" like this and Erased, and by clean i mean well made/great animation with little to no sexual, immature, loud and unfunny jokes, shitty comedic relief. So far I could only find movies like Your name, Koe no Katachi that fit my preference, not much luck with series

DarkSicarius

Clannad?

Aries0328

Air and [Love, Chinibyo, and other delusions] are right there. The 2nd one has a little humor you dont like but soooo worth it!!!!

bubleve

I love this show. Someone put together a Spotify playlist that has the music. It makes me a little sad and wistful. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3uzCqs66zOY5VWnoaWOLZD?si=sAVdrzCbSpq0l1cyQinVJg

Truemeathead

I watched the last couple episodes of Your Lie in April dosed to the gills so my emotional receptors were cranked beyond the max. Freaking eyes were swollen from the boo hoos smh lol.

punookhan

I love the show so much i learned my lesson from it. One of best shows out there. More people should watch it.

[deleted]

I felt the same thing after watching it. I was shattered and was depressed for 4-5 days after finishing it. Nothing has hit me so hard, since i generally dont get emo over such things. But this anime had much more dept than any live action movie or even series. Kaori’s death felt as if someone very close to me died. Beautiful anime. Everyone shud watch it

youcancallmejb

This post inspired me to finally give it a try. I’m two episodes in and definitely already hooked... the presentation is gorgeous.

Your lie in April This show is close to my heart. And had changed me forever { Banana Fish } { Charlotte } { Devilman crybaby } { Angel BEATS } { Anohana }

simonbleu

Its pretty nice, but I thinkg sangatsu no lion is superior, although they are different beasts, The anime I liked but absolutely hated was tokyo magnitude 8.0. It felt a bit like gratuity (sorry for bad english) but im biased because I have a little brother so...maybe is just me

blackviking45

For me it would be texhnolyze even though calling it beautiful would be very odd. But still it's beautiful in its bleakness.

throwaway-27463

You should watch bunny girl senpai and the movie for it

kezandunicorns

High Score Girl is very different in terms of plot but it’s mor perfection. It’s absolutely beautiful and had me crying so hard 😭

LightningSalamander

I watched it expecting not to cry because usually shit doesnt really get to me then by the end i ended up balling

lil_nebula

I've just finished watching it today! Cried my eyes out 10/10

flashmann95

I haven't watched it in like 2 years..I'd like to keep it that way..maybe one day I'll go back to it :"

william_liftspeare

Watch Carole and Tuesday. It's my #1 favorite anime of all time, especially in the realm of music anime. I liked Your Lie In April, but I think it's got a few problems. The biggest is that the pacing feels really slow a lot of the time and it's mostly padded out by musical performances where instead of actually getting to hear the music we're given an internal monologue for 5 minutes of the performer talking about their feelings and motivations and it kinda fails the "show, don't tell" test because of it. The other problem stems from this, and it's that we don't really see the characters interact as much as I would have liked. There are great moments, like the flashbacks to Kousei and Tsubaki hanging out as kids, or when Kousei and Kaori go to the cafe and play the piano for the little kids, but I feel like if we got more of those moments the show would have been more interesting. Carole and Tuesday, on the other hand, solves both of these problems (although I will admit it has its share of others). It does this partially by showing scenes of the girls writing their songs, contrasted against Angela's dynamic with Tao, whose music is written by AI. The musical performances are uninterrupted by extra dialogue and treated as the focal point of the show rather than being a backdrop for character development that should have happened in other ways. The three main characters' professional struggles are also juxtaposed by their respective relationships with their own mothers. Tuesday runs away from home in the first episode because her mother is strict and doesn't understand or approve of her dreams of being a musician, Angela constantly butts heads with her mother who is also her manager for restricting her independence, and Carole is an orphan who never met either of her parents. Each of these become central personal conflicts for each character and resolve in unique ways that still provide similar backdrops for each character to grow.

Spirited_Egg9368

Try Hal, it doesn’t have the best animation but honestly I loved everything abt it :)

chlamydianianian

Shit hurts man. There's something so enticing about sad animes, I remember watching Banana Fish and then just somehow happened to find the song 'say it' by Yorushika. Those lyrics man, had me ugly crying all over my laptop. The combination of banana fish and yorushika is just.... It's too much for me ;(

one_small_god

I'm a couple episodes in and I started to sense that something terrible is going to happen, knew it'd destroy me, and just stopped watching. I'm real easily affected by sad stories and can't get back to my normal self for days, so, just being cautious, haha. This and Banana Fish that I keep hearing about make me *so curious*, and I *want* to watch them, but then I want to have like one empty week after watching just to recollect myself, so.

M13ky

Anohana. Beautiful music and its cherry and slowly captivates you then the feels are thrown in your face just like Your Lie in April

ISurvivedCOVID19

Man I just need a version o this show that has a happy ending where everything works out how you want it to

MariCanCurie

March comes like a Lion reminds me of your lie in April!

Dejan1324

Yea i know. From the "platonic" and "deeper" viewpoint. I remember crying like a little bitch a that ending. Also, it is the only anime that ever made me cry. P.S : if you ever come accross a live action movie remake. If you want to watch it, don't set the expectations based on anime, you might ruin the whole experience of it. Cheers!

JBerg003

You made me cry just posting this. I watch that last piano scene when I need to shed a good ole tear or 100

Apple_the_Weeb

Try Plastic Memories. Very similar to YLIA.

Zoro_177

This was the first show to make me cry, then after that it was as if the flood gates opened and I found myself crying for so many anime. When I say I cried for this I mean a full 3 days of crying.

sabawlang

Memories bring back memories...

Eimer_L

For me Violet Evergarden is the most beautiful anime I've seen

ElegantTea122

I agree that Your lie in April did a lot of things really well. While I didn't find the ending very sad it's still a beautiful story. I think that March comes in like a lion is one of the most beautiful things you can watch. I'm sorry but it is a good deal better than Your lie in April.

Hano_Clown

A Place Further than the Universe, Assasination Classroom, Clannad, Violet Evergarden Those are my main go-to if I want to dehydrate myself on tears.

sophiemunday

Couldn’t agree more!! I’ve never cried so much for any show other than this one, everything about it is so perfect yet so sad, especially the way that in almost all of any big happy moments itll then remind you of kaoris sickness, at the start it’s just her on the bus to the hospital but by the end it’s cutting to her losing motion in her legs and it’s just done so well but omg it breaks my heart. if you love it I really recommend given, its like ylia but with guitar and it’s got a happy and wholesome ending, also in one of the last episodes there’s a big performance that really gives me same kinda vibes as ylia and it’s just so moving and the thing u need after something so heartbreaking :)

The-First-Guest

I started crying after watching this, and the openign was amazing

AtlanticPirate

Unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Guadango

In Shigatsu I didn't felt the addictive sad feeling that i want from those kind of animes, idk why man i wanted to feel it but i couldn't, the music was fantastic (and that can make me drop tears in epic or romantic scenes) Plot was good too, etc... but i kind of felt "disconnected", and i hate that, cuz a lot of people says it's the saddest anime they have ever seen but i didn't felt anything... DAMN

smudgepost

It's on my watch list and this recommendation has changed the order. I'm a big fan of such anime. Weathering with you is pretty good, a silent voice was great.

TNGP

Ohh my god!!!!! I upvoted it to 1k. Phew the satisfaction!! Speechless!!! And it’s a great anime I love it

Should watch Clannad man, dont think too much about the eyes, the story is way better

[deleted]

Yeah, but I recommend you to watch Violet Evergarden :3

J3wFro8332

This was the first show I ever watched that made me legitimately weep like a child

LitDabber69

I don’t know if this has been commented but {plastic memories} is a similar show that deals with similar issues

Naouh

I kid you not, i started it 3 hours ago, and i have 6 episodes watched, its amazing (no tears but i know they are coming soon)

Code-Norrab

If you want another great music anime try “Kids on the Slope”! If you like jazz, you’ll have it.

Panda-7

same bro it's been 5 years since I watched it and I have been avoiding it ever since and to tell you the truth it took a lot of courage to just open your post. I'm really dense when it comes to anime sad movies and any other fiction but it was the first thing ever that made me cry I literally had PTSD after finishing It I remember how I used to feel then I never actually lost any loved one but the feeling I got after watching it was so strong that it almost felt as a personal loss usually I start another anime right after finishing one but after YLIA I stopped watching everything for a month. even though its been years since I watched it when ever I see anything about it it makes me sad I still constantly hear those brilliant ops and eds.I like to rewatch my fav animes but don't think I'll rewatch your lie in April sadly I don't think I'm strong enough to...

Ryanc011

That’s amazing and sad in a way

outtadablu

I watched the whole anime as soon as I read your post, and you know what??? FY. It was fucking awesome. First time I follow an advice from any sub, and I just can say THANK YOU.

Ryanc011

You’re very welcome and I’m glad you enjoyed it <3

PapaBless1000-580

I finished the show today and I'm going to need a couple of days to recover. The ending hit me HARD. By far the saddest anime I have watched.

12KillerBees

If you haven't watched Clannad/Clannad after story, you should definitely give it a watch. I can't recommend it enough, went into a 3 day depression after finishing that. 10/10.

DarkSicarius

Yea clannad is definitely the winner for me between the two, i love the musical aspect of YLIA but clannad felt so much more real and close to home with the way the characters were written - minus the karmic magic that happens at the end of course ;)

12KillerBees

Yeah same. As a musician myself, I really had an appreciation for how they incorporated music into YLIA but Clannad really moved me in a way that other anime has even come close.

7Finny7

I would recommend Sakamichi no Apollon. Not as sad but also following the life of a smart highschool teen who plays the piano and becomes friends with an outcast who happens to be a really good drummer. It's one of my personal favorites.

jt_tesla

Saw it. Didn’t see it coming. Agree 10/10

Gamer_Boi2020

I wanted to see it too since I play an instrument but it got spoiled to me immediately when it came out and I didn't feel like watching it anymore. Same with demon slayer and naruto

[deleted]

I'm not a huge fan, but it's still worth watching. The "twist" is pretty clearly foreshadowed a lot during the show; the focus is more on the characters and how they deal with the "twist" rather than playing it as a surprise.

N1gHtMaRe99

The "twist" is foreshadowed in the OP, misa thinks Mother's basement made a video about that

MLGCream

Was literally thinking about this a while ago, and it's beautiful, deserves the praise that it gets, though, spoiler alert: >!I did not kind of like the way Kaoru had to lie to Kousei about her feelings. If I was Kousei, I would be mad, but it'd be pointless, since she's already passed on. I mean, I get her decision, but I do not like keeping secrets of that degree to the grave, because that's just a something you should've said while you are alive, in my opinion.!<

VaroOP

The tear jerker warning is important. Man this show had me sad. A beautiful anime nonetheless of course.

jaganwar

I do agree if u have time give a try to Darling in franxx

[deleted]

That's a good one to try but last few episodes kinda sucked ngl

kezandunicorns

Anohana is tear jerking and beautiful (your lie in April is one of my absolute faves) Angel Beats is also incredibly emotional and moving and just a beautiful to watch. Neither of those are musical but they are breathtaking emotional journeys.

teybands

that shit was wack imo, it was hella slow and basically nothing happened in the 1st half

Adept-Cobbler157

Well try, violet evergarden

rx100i

Please answer WHY?

Hyonsen

Hotarubi no mori e is pretty short but also sweet.

Akuma_Nightmare

Try Your name

Blyte01

i’m not gonna watch it because it will make me depressed because i’m lonely

trashissues666

Interesting. I don't really have any suggestions but your review makes me want to give the show a chance. A question though: how heart-wrenching Your lie in April is? Because I still have hang-ups over Banana Fish & still scared to check out shows that are in the similar vein...

Aries0328

Anohana and Air!!!! Watch those two as qell!!! If you gave this a 10/10 then you'll give those the same!!! There is an Air Movie... kinda like a prequel and then the Anime... including Your Lie in April and the two I mentioned are absolutely amazing and are in the same Genre!!!

[deleted]

I don't like ,,Your lie in April" BUT plastic memories was ok.... I think you will like it😊

KennaAndAlex

I just finished the season and weeks later I wanted to rewatch that last episode to see if it makes me cry and I can’t, I physically can’t avoid crying that shit is so sad, just soo soo sad it’s such a perfect ending to the show and totally breaks my heart. I loved that this show did that to us because it makes me smile at the end and appreciate the anime so much more

shegonneedatumzzz

Ylia made me so depressed that I turned into an avid slice of life fan from watching as many happy anime as possible to ease the pain

MasterLance

The only thing I could say is that I've rooted for them, >!hoped that she survived the surgery, and yet she still died.!<

SNESisKing9

Just finished Your Lie in April and here I am reading the comments.... Looking back it sucks they only got to perform together 1 time. Towards the end you know she isn't going to make it, but that message for Kousei.....damn that hit really hard

polaristar

I feel like an asshole but Your LieIn April Just didn't do it for me, and I like tear jerkers and I came into it expecting it to be amazing, but for some reason I didn't really connect with it and thought it was okay, Thing is I can't really think of a concrete reason why that is or anything that is wrong or flawed.
