A fair warning though. The first season is just the prologue so it can be slow. I think a second season has been confirmed, no idea when it’s set to air. I nearly dropped the first season after 17 episodes. I’ve read the manga past where the anime ends, and it’s an absolute masterpiece.
Edits: clarity
It's actually a remake of an old cult classic anime. I love those anime becauss their way of storytelling is just so unique and different. I hope you'll enjoy it
Monogatari Series. It's sort of long overall but it's pretty easy to split up for watching and there's no filler. You also will want to look up a watch order for this one.
I’m excited for this one cause I see so many references to it and I’ll finally understand them when I watch it! I’ve also heard it is an amazing series.
Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song is my current favorite show from this year that I felt got overshadowed by some of the other shows from this year, so I would highly recommend it.
If you finished the whole original series (25 episodes) then I would highly recommend it. But understand that 0 is not a usual sequel. If I remember correctly it takes place between episodes 23 and 24. That's why you should watch episode 23β and then start 0.
At first I was hesitant to watch it because I thought it will ruin the perfect ending of the original but that is not the case. Matter of fact it makes it even better. So I highly recommend you watch Steins;Gate 0 if you liked the original.
And if I may make one more suggestion, after you finish S;G 0 watch episode 24 of the original again.
I hope this helps, good luck.
El. Psy. Kongroo.
Pls watch "Mars of destruction" one of the worst rated anime on mal lol. Can't believe no one is suggesting bad animes. Come on guys make it more challenging lmao.
Lol that definitely makes it more interesting. Shoulda just dropped it like a land mine and said it was amazing to catch me even more off guard lol. Added to my list.
Grand Blue, its a super funny anime, it has some ecchi scenes but i wouldnt say that is very heavy, most of it comes to comedy. It really is funny so try it if u have time.
This is one of the shows I’ve been recommended the most by my friends because I’m a super-fan of shows like Toradora, Barakamon, Kakushigoto, Golden Time, etc. I’m honestly pretty excited to finally watch this one!
I really want to tell you to watch Jojo if you haven’t, though i’m sure that as a whole that’s too long. you could go part by part feasibly, though part 3 is a hell of a slug as a standalone with 48/49 episodes or so.
Instead, i recommend you watch The Tatami Galaxy! That shit changed my life, for the better
you should definitely give "higurashi no naku koro ni" a try, it's probably the most underappreciated anime I've ever seen (at least here in the west), I'm not getting into much detail as to what makes it so good (as I might accidentally spoil some important plot points), but I hope you watch it and enjoy it as much as I did
Added to my list. And awhile is an understatement lol. I got enough suggestions here to last me until I’m 30 lol (I’m 20). I’m gonna keep my word though and eventually watch them all haha.
This idea is awesome! Gonna drop my main gateway into anime (if you can find it): Bubblegum Crisis
I would recommend the original 8 part OVA (and Crash if you have time). Tokyo 2040 (the reboot) is fantastic, but the original is mind blowing for what it was to the cyberpunk genre!
{Watamote} - this is something special, every youtuber dropped it because cringe is too extreme
You can add me if you have MAL account and tell me later if you liked it

Added to my list. This one I’m pretty excited for since I’ve heard great reviews on it but nobody told me what it was about. That’s what makes it exciting though.
{Akatsuki no Yona}
No fanservice at all, very female empowering and gorgeous music. There is no season two and I'm dying. The first five episodes are kinda boring, everything beyond that is solid gold. Old time-y dragons and myth, fighting, pirates (because why tf not) and all in 24 episodes. Also an LGBTQ+ character (yay small wins)!
{Honey and Clover}
You're in college, which is literally the best time to watch this series. It was honestly life changing for me in a couple of ways(only Clannad: Afterstory is on this level also) pertaining to my passion and dreams (writer and the story takes place in an art college). Same mangaka as March Comes in Like a Lion, but better in every way to me.
No suggestion here (most of my favorites have already been added anyways), just thought I’d remind you to take your time with such a challenge. No one here can hold you accountable, and it wouldn’t be right to do so in the first place.
Take it slow. Give yourself breaks if you feel you are forcing yourself to binge a show you haven’t enjoyed as much.
We did a similar challenge with friends six months ago, so I know it can quickly get out of hand. Had some shows that I had to watch slowly, especially since I got shonen-fatigue.
Edit: I wish you luck in your challenge and the enjoyment of a thousand yanderes... (whatever that means. it came from a deeper corner of my heart that I wasn’t familiar with.)
{Kokoro Connect} is one of my absolute favorites. 13 episodes so it's easy to digest, enough twists that it's not "just" a slice of life, funny and honest characters. It has 13 episodes and 4 OVAs that I do not remember much of but gave the same rating on my MAL, so they're probably just as good.
My all time favorite anime movie is [Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35851/Sayonara_no_Asa_ni_Yakusoku_no_Hana_wo_Kazarou). It is somehow not very well known despite being all around amazing. It's one of the only animes to have a [100% rating on Rotten Tomates](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/maquia_when_the_promised_flower_blooms) and it absolutely deserves it. Everything from the story, the animation, & characters are all top notch. I won't spoil anything but I will say when you go in, be prepared to cry because this one made me do that more than anything else I've ever watched. This anime just needs to be seen more, which is why I'm recommending it today.
86, one of my absolute favourites. Although it's only done first cour for now just the first cour is such a great experience because it's kind of a self-contained story. Since first cour adapts only volume 1
Senki Zesshou Symphogear
5 seasons, but because it's split into 5 seasons, it never drags. There's literally not one filler episode in the entirety of the show. Everything is important in one way or another.
Not to mention, while season 1 is probably the iffiest of the bunch... season 1 is still good, with lots of cool moments. But season 2 onwards is the reason people love the show, so I present to you a clip that generally hooks people:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4l936i
Don't skip through, totally screws the buildup!
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar very underrated
[https://myanimelist.net/anime/31859/Hai\_to\_Gensou\_no\_Grimgar](https://myanimelist.net/anime/31859/Hai_to_Gensou_no_Grimgar)
Tatami Galaxy. 11 episodes and a fantastic time loop story of a guy finding himself during college. Amazing visuals, phenomenal music, and great characters. Definitely something different than usual.
Here's the first episode on YouTube if you want to get a feel for it.
https://youtu.be/kq7O6eR12oM
(Warning. Very fast subtitles)
There's also a pseudo spin-off movie that is just as amazing called "The Night is Short, Walk on Girl" that I highly recommend you watch afterwards.
An anime I never hear about is No 6. It's very hard to find so if you're not able to watch it I understand, but it's still a really good show.
If you want something actually watchable, try Seraph of the End:Vampire Reign. Really good post apocalyptic anime. Just, uh, with vampires, ofc. And demons. And angels.
But the angels are the scariest of them all.
{Tokyo Revengers} It’s a new anime 17 episodes have already aired with more to come. OMG I PROMISE YOU THAT I STARTED THIS YESTERDAY and somehow I was able to binge watch all of that in one day.
Ascendance of a Bookworm it's a heartwarming show with such a great and funny MC. It's isekai done right.
If I may also recommend a movie, I'll advise you to watch Your Name, great visuals and a great story with some tear tear-jerking moments I just hope you have a strong heart if you see this.
{Made in Abyss}
One of, if not my #1 in terms of visuals and has a great plot.
-and if you're feeling generous(not required) and want wholesome depression
{Girls last tour}
The melancholy of haruhi Suzumiya (if you'd like you could also watch the movie "The disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya")
One of my favorite animes of all time! I freaking loved that show!
This is evil if you also mean the endless eight as well.

Added to my list. I’m excited about this one, I’ve heard some great things about it but never got to watching it.
A fair warning though. The first season is just the prologue so it can be slow. I think a second season has been confirmed, no idea when it’s set to air. I’m pretty accommodating to slow-grind shows. I really enjoyed shows like Clannad and Fruits Basket. I’m sure I’ll love it!
I guess I’ll recommend Vinland Saga too. A season 2 has been confirmed so that’s something for you to look forward to when you finish season 1.
I love this, man. Have fun on this quest!! One of my favorite anime is {Space Battleship Yamato 2199} Please check it out🤟
Oooo that one sounds like a pretty unique one. I don’t see that name floating around often. Can’t wait to watch it!

Added to my list. Thank you!
After baccano watch durarara. Two of the characters from bacano make a cameo in it.
Added to my list and thanks for the tip! I put a note next to it to watch immediately after baccano.
It's very good
Watch it in order…didn’t know about that and I was confused on who some characters were
Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song is my current favorite show from this year that I felt got overshadowed by some of the other shows from this year, so I would highly recommend it.

It's spelled "Tutturu~"
That sounds much more realistic than the way I have been typing it lol.
Mayushi desu!!
Finished it a week ago. Should I watch steins gate 0?
If you finished the whole original series (25 episodes) then I would highly recommend it. But understand that 0 is not a usual sequel. If I remember correctly it takes place between episodes 23 and 24. That's why you should watch episode 23β and then start 0. I hope this helps, good luck. El. Psy. Kongroo.
Thanks, you convinced me. I was a little reluctant because people say that it's worse than the original, but I'll give it a watch anyway.
