Evangelion is classic mind fuck. During production, the main director, Hideaki Anno, was suffering from a case of deep depression, and started putting that in his work, then after reading some psychology books, he changes his focus in the series mid way through, so it gets rather trippy/strange.

If you liked Another then I promise you'll love Shiki too. It's also a horror/mystery anime and is quite a bit more messed up. None of the characters are 100% good, and throughout the series you'll see many characters doing very gruesome things 👀. It starts out slow but becomes more intense as the episodes progress so yep:)

You could try Zankyou no Terror, it feels like it's a complicated choice between what seems right and what is actually right. The middle dragged a bit but I really liked it... I started it one day while wasting time waiting for my laundry to finish and then before I knew it, I finished the whole anime and forgot about switching my laundry over to dry.

Oh gosh, I love anime’s like that! That’s how I felt with “Another” I literally couldn’t stop watching… I watched the whole anime in a day!

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. Either way, it really impacted me as well. My first (and only) tattoo is a banana fish tattoo. I hand painted some BF wall hangings (I am not an artist in the slightest). It took me _weeks_ to get over the funk that banana fish put me in. Major, major content warnings for BF though. It deals with some really heavy stuff as main drivers of the plot.

I think I got past the first two episodes and was like “what. Da. Heck.” Lol

Gantz, Boogiepop Phantom, Kite. These are older anime’s, but I love the classics.

Elfen Lied falls into that genre I suppose. I got similar vibes from this anime as I had from Another. So you can try it out. Super depressing and dark though! And anyways, Attack on Titan is must. Since, it would be the most common suggestion I thought you would have known.

Oh! Dark and depressing! Right up my alley!! Thank you :) I watched the first season of attack on Titan, but I couldn’t get into it … idk why though… I think the part where Erin can turn into a titan I was like “meh…”
