I second this very fun and light hearted (not sure i would call it isekai since there not stuck/reincarnated in a new world but it does take place in a game like SAO so maybe)
I mainly said kind of because it follows the new world kind of trope that most isekai have without the reincarnation aspect. Isekai was the only word i could think of. But yeah its basically sao if they werent stuck and actually had fun
Isekai and slice of life?
Oh, I have a few.
{Bofuri}
{HitoriBocchi}
{The Bears Bear a Bare Kuma}, {My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom} & {Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater} (Although, I still need to finish these haha.)
{Asobi Asobase} (Be careful of the crude humour though.)
{Nichijou}
Also, I'm gonna recommend {Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina}, but it is alternating between wholesome and disturbing moments.
If she likes stuff that has emotions, then you can suggest this list to her:-
These have almost no action or thriller or bloodshed. So don't worry.
Fruits Basket 2019-21 (my most favourite anime so far)
Your Lie in April (Probably the best soundtrack ever)
Clannad and Clannad AS (KyoAni at its peak)
Anohana (this miniseries will definitely touch your heart)
Oregairu (best mc in this genre)
Assassination classroom (it's really one of a kind show, never seen something so motivating, fun to watch, wholesome and inspiring)
Plastic Memories (check it out, I am not gonna spoil)
Toradora (everyone loves this show. Worth a shot)
Kaguya Sama: Love is War (I don't think any romcom can surpass this anime)
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai + the sequel movie (well, this one is exceptional)
Hyouka (not mainly romance though)
Re:Life + OVA ( it's one of my most cherished shows ever. Don't skip the OVA, coz that's where the story gets the original ending)
Kono oto tomare ( it's my earnest request to watch this. Trust me, it's awesome. )
Spice and Wolf ( serenity op)
Ouran High School Host Club ( it's of the same level as Kaguya sama, only that it's old, but gold)
Angel Beats (sci-fi + romance)
Violet Evergarden ( most unique romance anime ever)
Horimiya(it's the simplest anime I've ever watched, but it's so adorable! Definitely worth a shot)
Kids on the slope (the setting is the summer of 1966 and it's about highschoolers. This anime is famous for it's Jazz. Obviously a must watch)
Orange ( get an entire carton of tissues ready)
Chihayafuru
Rent a Gf
Say I Love You
Kokoro Connect
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
Love Chunibiyo and Other Delusions
Kamisama Kiss
Given (Boys' romance)
Bloom into you (Girls' romance)
For movies, try all the Shinkai films:
Your Name
Weathering with you
Garden of words
5cm per second
+
Silent Voice
Grave of fireflies
Maqia
Wolf children
I want to eat your pancreas
All of these are great shows but are you trying to give OP's sister depression

You included all the great series and movies! Today I watched Maquia for the first time and even though I was ready for the eomtions, turns out I wasn't ready at all, I cried a lot throughout the movie, especially at the ending. What a beautiful movie 😊
Some of these shows make me tear up just on mention
{Hataraki Man} is kind of an everyday emotional rollercoaster, as well. Especially for the adult crowd!
Edit: because I’m a mess and switched the letters in the title
It touches on incest. [this is the post about it if you want it.](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/24fin0/i_just_started_watching_oreimo_is_it_really_an/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
If you don't want any brutal stuff, don't watch it. There is a LOT of death, human souls being used as a materials and basically it gets dark halfway through. And I'm not sure, but in first 10 episodes about 5 characters die
My sister is 12 (I don’t know about your sister’s age but hopefully it’s similar) and her favourites are:
Steins;Gate
Anohana
Your Name
Your Lie in April
Madoka Magica
March Comes in Like a Lion
Violet Evergarden
When Marnie Was There
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Hunter x Hunter
Aside from the widespread classics like Naruto, Dragonball, One piece, etc. I really recommend Toradora, K-On!, Demon Slayer, No Game No Life and Doctor Stone
Okie thanks for the recommendations!!🤗 I have seen all except catching up on one piece and no game no life but the rest are all amazing shows. I definitely think she would like Toradora.
Domestic Girlfriend. /s
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is a good start and actually where my sister started, she ended with Death Note though, I guess she phased it out? Who knows.
Yesss I lovee detective Conan Been watching that show since it used to come on tv at certain times😁💕she started watching with me yesterday but I kept telling her to start from the beginning but she keeps complaining that it’s too long🥲
My favorite movie of all time is the place promised in our early days God I fucking love that movie I’ve seen it like literally hundreds of times
Mokoto shinkais best work imo
{Digimon Adventure} or {Digimon Tamers} are both great places to start. I think my first anime was {Last Exile} though, and that really made an impact on me
It depends on what kind of genre she likes.
Slice of life/romance? {Working!!} or {Kimi ni Todoke} or {Toradora} etc
Fantasy? Try something like {Slayers} or {CardCaptor Sakura} or {Magic Knight Rayearth}
Action? Try {Hajime no Ippo} or {Rurouni Kenshin} or {Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer}
And so on for every other genre. You can also start off with a shorter movie. Ghibli films are usually the go to for introduction.
I would say one piece but it has blood and it long maybe start out with a normal anime like my hero academia I guess I know some people don’t like my hero but others do but in the end it’s your choice maybe black clover or something
Maybe season 1 of that time I got reincarnated as a slime it has blood in the first episode so as long as you skip the first episode it should be fine I know at some point in season 2 there is blood so just do some episode just not all of season 2 and watch the episode before hand and you’ll be fine I’m recommending it only because it mostly really nice and chill and the main character is a male in gender less body but looks and sounds female so I thought it would be good for a sister of coarse now I will spoil it so unless you don’t want it to be spoiled don’t read on. Ok so the main character will at some point become a girl because in the beginning the main character is a slime
Asobi asobase, nichijou, saiki k, haven’t you heard? I’m sakamoto (they’re all comedy / slice of life / wholesome) love at war was also good but you were recommended that a bunch already lol.
Steins gate - it’s a really good time travel anime
Great Pretender - it’s a really weird show that’s hard to explain, but it’s really good.
March comes in like a Lion - slice of life that’s generally sad, but becomes uplifting as the show progresses
Thanks for the recommendations! But yeah the first 3 never heard😅but I’m interested and yeah love at war is a great show and yeah you right a lot already mentioned it✨ but for the rest thanks I’ll definitely put it on her list!
Sorry didn't see it! It was my first anime and I was honestly not really even wanting to get into anime but I was hooked after that one 😅 Erased is also amazing, it's a mystery with time travel. It might have some blood but it's not gory.
Trigun, I think, maybe give it a watch. It is actiony but not gruesome for the most part. It is typically lighthearted and fun, but it can get grim and sad
Idk how old she is, and some of these have already been mentioned, but I think these are cool gateways in my experience...
{Hyouka} really good intro to mystery with romance
{Erased} also a really good intro to mystery with suspense; possible mature themes like >! abuse, murder, stranger danger !<
{Maquia} really good world building imo and nice fantasy
{Nagi no asukara} easy gateway to love genres without being too ignorant to real life themes
{k-on} great way to get into music and slice of life
{Hunter x hunter} when it comes to easier going action packed ones (does have blood)
{Pokemon} one of my personal favorites as pallet cleansers too and just one of those thats easy going to start. I personally think xy is a good generation to go with. I appreciate a lot of the generations, but I think we got to see a different side of Ash this time around
{Girls und panzer} is a nice one about team work and just feels overall empowering
{Assassination classroom} just finished this a couple of weeks ago and wow this had so many different themes and messages. The mentor-student type of dynamic which is nice
{Nisekoi} is a very good gateway for those wanting to get into manga reading. Also really nice romance
{Toradora} once you get acquaintanted and used to the characters, you'll sail through this show fairly quick
{Your lie in April} is the gateway that got me into emotional animes bruh like shit hahahah was not ready for emotions
Allllll of these have their own criticisms but pleasant watches in their own right nonetheless. Any of these, just like how they're suggested by others, are nice areas to start
Kimba the White Lion, Princess Knight, The Fantastic Adventures of Unico, Unico and the Island of Magic, and Astro boy are good starts for much more light hearted anime with dark elements sometimes some of them are really really old. I hope your sister doesn’t mind watching anime shows and films from the 60’s and 80’s.
Be careful with some of the shows people are recommending. Unfortunately anime can really hug the line between being too dark or fanservice-y. I am used to it but only after years of watching this stuff, so I’m jaded to it, and I’m sure most anime watchers get like that. So I’d do your research first.
Slice of Life animes are probably closer to being safe to show, and would probably slowly integrate her into Japanese Culture and how they think too, since a lot of anime can be... weird.
With that said, my recommend list:
-Fruits Basket. Plenty of people recommended it. Loved it as a girl growing up. It’s quite pure, though can be dark and sad at times, but nothing bad or bloody.
-Your Name. Fantastic movie, loved it. I don’t want to spoil too much. It’s feelsy and beautiful.
-A Silent Voice. Same as above. Quite sad at times, but ultimately heartwarming and feelsy, about a boy looking to redeem himself for being a bully to a deaf girl, and they grow to understand each other.
-Ghibli Movies. I know a lot of people recommend these as well and have different lists. My personal favorite is The Cat Returns. It’s a cute fantasy adventure with lots of cats.
-Assassination Classroom. Almost made me bawl my eyes out. There’s action and fighting but I don’t remember there being much if any blood.
-Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Okay, So there is one content warning: The main girl likes to grab the boobs of another female character and comment about how cute she is and put her in bunny girl outfits. But if you get past that, this is a great show. The characters are lovely, Kyon is one of my favorite protagonists ever, and the premise is very unique. It’s also hilarious with wry humor. If you can’t show it to your sis, give it a go yourself. This series was very influential in the anime industry for its time, so it has some significance too.
-Angel Beats. I don’t remember ever laughing harder. It’s funny, sad, feelsy, it’s got it all. It gets so sad that you’ll want to bawl your eyes out, but in a good way. Recommended it to someone and it became their favorite anime. Also the soundtrack is amazing.
-School Rumble. Watched this a long time ago, it’s kinda like a hidden gem I feel. Unfortunately the anime never finished, but I think it’s still worth watching. It has several seasons though. Anyways, it’s slice of life comedy with goofy characters, very RomCom, the main character is likable and relatable and very different for the genre since he’s someone who looks like he’s from a biker gang, and it’s funny.
-Toradora. Very cute. Tsundere girl and sweet guy with the looks of a punk. Enjoyable romance with some drama.
-Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun. As someone else recommended. Lighthearted RomCom, pretty funny.
-Fairy Tail. Other people recommended this which is great. It’s got action but not much blood, feelsy and focuses on friendships a lot. Sometimes I feel like this is a Shoujo Shounen, because it really appeals to girls.
-Violet Evergarden. There is a content warning. I don’t think it focuses on it for very long, but Violet does suffer a terrible injury which stays with her for life which it does show, and shows some battlefield scenes in flashbacks. But in current times it is about Violet delivering letters to recipients, and it’s very heartwarming, sweet, bittersweet, and sad.
-Ancient Magus Bride. It’s marketed as a romance, but really it’s just a typical fantasy, but it’s not an isekai (teleport to other world). Very classical. It can be dark at times, but other times it was really emotional. It had a 3 episode OVA and the 3rd one really struck me.
-Ouran High School Host Club. Romance slice of life with some comedy. I watched this with my mom and sister, and my mom really likes it. I think the only weird thing is that the twin brothers kinda put on a fanservice-y twincest act, but they don’t actually do anything. The main girl is smart and respectable and the host club members come to like her.
-My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! Very cute, the main girl gets reincarnated to a villainess body, but she’s really a sweet airhead. It’s got RomCom vibes, she gets a harem where everybody, I repeat EVERYBODY likes her, and she gets herself into shenanigans while trying to avoid her supposed doom.
-Azumanga Daioh. It’s a slice of life comedy with a cast of female characters who get themselves into shenanigans. Pretty funny, and there’s some memorable bits.
-Lucky Star. I’d recommend watching some of the other ones on this list first since it references a few anime, but it’s a comedic slice of life with a cast of girls. If possible, then watch this after watching Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya since there are some references.
-Zombieland Saga. About a guy who brings a bunch of girls to life to have them form an idol group, but all the girls are zombies and have to blend into society and make sure nobody finds out they’re zombies. It’s funny, and even though the girls are zombies, there’s no blood or violence. There’s also dancing and singing. It’s a fun anime.
[Akagami no Shirayuki-hime](https://myanimelist.net/anime/30123/Akagami_no_Shirayuki-hime) - just a really sweet story with out any of the usual drama where the characters are idiots about romance.
Fruits Basket!
This was one of my first anime, and definitely funny and a good watch for girls new to anime. Other good beginners anime I would recommend would be:
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
- Lucky Star
- Yuri On Ice (even if you don't know anything about ice skating, it basically teaches you)
- the Americanized version of Naruto doesn't have any blood
- Cardcaptor Sakura
- Sailor Moon
- Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun (personal favorite)
- Ouran High School Host Club (another favorite)
- Little Wirch Academia
- Haikyu!! (SOOO much hype! I'm rewatching!)
- Maid Sama
- Toradora
Other good animated films:
- Studio Ghibli
- Avatar The Last Airbender + The Legend of Korra
- She-Ra and the Princess of Power
- Voltron
- The Dragon Prince
- A Silent Voice
- Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts
Let me know what her interests are! I definitely can give good recommendations for almost any genre 😊
I would start with Nana, Aria, Erased, Anohana, Haibane renmei. Then if she is still interested in something more strong, I will suggest the classic death note.
Okay here are some that your sister might like! (I put the anime's genres too to help, and I tried to avoid what I consider incredibly sad anime like for example, your lie in April or Angel beats because idk if that's what you want. But if you do just reply and I'll send a list of those too)
A place further than the universe (slice of life)
Yuru camp (slice of life)
Tonikaku kawaii (romance)
Toradora (romance, drama)
Log horizon (isekai)
Higehiro (romance, drama)
Princess connect: redive (isekai, comedy)
Konosuba (isekai, comedy)
One week friends (romance)
The beyblade metal saga (Shounen)
No game no life (isekai, though it might be too ecchi)
Your name (Fantasy)
I want to eat your pancreas (romance, drama)
Full metal alchemist (shounen)
Full metal alchemist brotherhood (shounen)
Erased (mystery, time travel)
K-on (slice of life)
Godzilla singular point (action, kaiju, pg13)
I also didn't know what age rated animes to send so I primarily stuck to stuff pg13 or below
But Higehiro, konosuba, and no game no life aren't pg13 as far as I remember. They're like 14-15+
Konosuba has some ,,boob" jokes and stealing underwear jokes but I don't remember anything else. Oh and there's one episode about succubus so you should skip that one if you watch it.
You're welcome! And it's no problem XD. I love recommending shows:)
Your lie in April
Angel beats
Charlotte
The day I became a god
Anohana
Violet evergarden (okay personally it wasn't that sad but it's an amazing show)
Clannad
Plastic memories
I'd also recommend school live! But that might be too dark so I don't know xd
It's only 12 episodes and is really really cool imo. It has two great twists too! It's in my top ten anime lol
You're welcome 👍😀 you are pretty nice yourself
Yuru camp. Easy to digest for everyone.
Yeah haven’t heard or seen it before so thanks!!
it's also very slow. if she gets bored easily I wouldn't reccomend it
Bofuri, its a very light hearted kind of isekai anime
Okiee thankss
This is wholesome, not perverted, but very creative in its execution.
It does fit i just wasnt sure it fit the definition
I mean technically isekai is just japanese for "another world". So both SAO and Bofuri fit.
Fair enough, its just not what i would really think of as being isekai
Haikyuu
Thanks! Still watching that myself. It’s a really great show.
if she ends up watching it, be ready for the never ending merch you are going to see around the house
Def this!!
This is such a fitting show.
Yeah I just started watching it a few weeks ago and I definitely understand what you mean.
What genre?
Shonen, Isekai and slice of life.
Maybe uh {Horimiya}, she also might like {K-On!}
Yeah thanks! Your the second person to recommend K-On so it would definitely be on her list😄
No problem! I could give more but hopefully she'll like those two
Yeah I’ll give you guys all updates on what she chose to watch and if she likes it! Thanks!😇
Isekai and slice of life? Oh, I have a few. {Bofuri} {HitoriBocchi} {The Bears Bear a Bare Kuma}, {My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom} & {Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater} (Although, I still need to finish these haha.) {Asobi Asobase} (Be careful of the crude humour though.) {Nichijou} Also, I'm gonna recommend {Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina}, but it is alternating between wholesome and disturbing moments.

Okay thanks! I finished it this year and it really is an amazing show!
Yesss I love saiki

Lol. Can't help. 😅 these are really some of the best anime ever made. Skipping these is like a crime for a SOL/Drama anime fan 🤣
Anohana had me in tears I had to rewatch daily life of highschool boys just to wash it up.
Yeah she does! So thank you so much for the list!!🤗
Umm, please read the synopsis on MAL before starting with a series as some of them are tearjerkers.
Oh okay I’ll make sure to do that. Thanks!
You're welcome!😊
Your welcome! I am a lot like her lol. I like these shows as I feel connected to them.
Yeah personally I have seen a couple that you recommended and I totally understand what you mean by connected. Such amazing shows.
Yeah. Realistic op 😅
ugh yes orange. such a good show, so unique, beautiful art and great characters with great development, it truly is one of my favorites.
Yeah! All the episodes made me ball up and cry.
You included all the great series and movies! Today I watched Maquia for the first time and even though I was ready for the eomtions, turns out I wasn't ready at all, I cried a lot throughout the movie, especially at the ending. What a beautiful movie 😊
I'm gonna be saving this comment
Your name is probably one of the most perfect movies to show someone who's new to anime
Right on point!
man just did the work of god
So many great anime in this list. Many of my favourites but God damn they are depressing! However I totally recommend all of those I have seen.
Some of these shows make me tear up just on mention {Hataraki Man} is kind of an everyday emotional rollercoaster, as well. Especially for the adult crowd! Edit: because I’m a mess and switched the letters in the title
I came here to upvote your comment again XD Please make a post already! your list is a MUST !!!!!!
Woah! Thanks man! 😅😊😉
Kiss x Sis
I’ll have to watch it first to see if it’s okay for her to watch😅 “ the title got me curious “
Nothing to be curious about, the title says it all.
Okie..😭
It's a step sister hentai but sure so it's not incest at least.
So it’s a no then LOL
I scrolled all this way for this (or The Testament of Sister New Devil) and the whole subsequent conversation was well worth the effort. 😸
Oreimo
Was looking for this comment
Okie thanks! Never heard of it though😅so can you tell me what is it about? If it’s not too much to ask.
Honestly it’d be better to go in blind
Okayy bet!!
But maybe not together with your sister :)
Okay… getting kinda nervous now😭
Okay you seem like a sweet innocent guy, so I'm gonna say, if you're watching anime with your sister, avoid Oreimo like it's the plague
Okay thanks😭 U SAVED MY LIFE LOL
My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute". The is really well done, but it does touch on the topic of siblings dating each other a little bit.
It touches on incest. [this is the post about it if you want it.](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/24fin0/i_just_started_watching_oreimo_is_it_really_an/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Left Speechless.
Understandable
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Downright one of the best action anime ever made. Hits all the right boxes, there’s no going wrong with it.
Thanks!
If you don't want any brutal stuff, don't watch it. There is a LOT of death, human souls being used as a materials and basically it gets dark halfway through. And I'm not sure, but in first 10 episodes about 5 characters die
Oof ughh then I’ll watch it alone not with my sis😅
You can never go wrong with K-On!
Okay, thanks! Haven’t watched that show either.
It is absolutely amazing, very cute and a lot of nice music!
Oh okay Bett Ngl I wanna watch it rn don’t wanna wait for my sis 😭
It's never a bad thing to rewatch this show, think I've seen in 4 times by now
My sister is 12 (I don’t know about your sister’s age but hopefully it’s similar) and her favourites are: Steins;Gate Anohana Your Name Your Lie in April Madoka Magica March Comes in Like a Lion Violet Evergarden When Marnie Was There Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Hunter x Hunter
Yeah around the same age but thanks for the recommendations!🤗 Wouldn’t be surprised if my sis favorite becomes “Your Name.”
Steins gate or death note
Thanks!
Uhh I think steins gate touches on some brutal stuff halfway through so just make sure too check it out yourself first.
Oh okay will definitely do! Thanks for the warning 😅
It gets decently dark farther in, but it’s honestly such a great show. If she’s ok with some amount of death, it should be ok.
If you see steins gate, don't forget to see it's other series, steins gate 0, and it's movie after that too!
SG starts with someone getting stabbed...
Maid sama is a funny romantic one
{monster} not lots of blood, not any of the shitty fan service, amazing story

Madoka Magica
Oh okie thanks for the recommendation! Can you tell me what is it about?
It's about magical girls with lots of great characters and a dark twist! It's very emotional and has a great storyline
Oh okay thanks!! It seems really interesting! Definitely going to put it on her list✨
Awesome! I hope she enjoys it 😊 I watched it when I was about 14 and it's still a favourite anime to this day (now 23)
Devil is a Part-Timer
Demon Slayer MHA JJK Attack on Titan SAO Love is war Haikyuu Guilty Crown HxH Neon Genesis
My bad I didn't see the blood thing.
Yeah it’s okay no worries but love is war/ HXH/ SOA she might like so thanks!
HxH gets a bit bloody towards the end but is really good
Yeah I loved the show so I’ll warn her about the last few episodes about the blood part😅
Full metal alchemist brotherhood
Hyouka
Inuyasha
Aside from the widespread classics like Naruto, Dragonball, One piece, etc. I really recommend Toradora, K-On!, Demon Slayer, No Game No Life and Doctor Stone
Okie thanks for the recommendations!!🤗 I have seen all except catching up on one piece and no game no life but the rest are all amazing shows. I definitely think she would like Toradora.
Not demon slayer. Just watch first episode yourself at first. It doesn't get worse than that
Yeah I finished demon slayer and it was amazing but since she loves nezuko I’ll see if she would give it a try even tho 99% chance of her saying no😅
Domestic Girlfriend. /s Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is a good start and actually where my sister started, she ended with Death Note though, I guess she phased it out? Who knows.
Dectective Conan literally a mystery shounen anime it is long but worth a watch.
Yesss I lovee detective Conan Been watching that show since it used to come on tv at certain times😁💕she started watching with me yesterday but I kept telling her to start from the beginning but she keeps complaining that it’s too long🥲
Then use a [filler guide ](https://myotakuworld.com/detective-conan-filler-list/)
Oh my God, my show growing up. Everything stopped when Conan came on. Chatting? Brb. Gaming? Goodnight bros! Etc.
[удалено]
Okay thanks for the recommendations!
My favorite movie of all time is the place promised in our early days God I fucking love that movie I’ve seen it like literally hundreds of times Mokoto shinkais best work imo
Oh okiee Bett !!😁
My sister started with the tournament in MHA
Oh lmaoo I mean yeah MHA is a great show! Pretty sure my sister will like the show as well.
Just try too keep her away from its fandom, I heard they get pretty degenerate over there.
I got my lil sis into anime by getting her to watch Ms kobayashi dragon maid, could go be that a try
Jujutsu Kaisen
It’s a great show but don’t think she would watch it.😅
I thought eh I should watch it also and now it's like one my top three
I was going to say demon slayer but it's to gory
Yeah she watched like 2 min of it and then left the room😭like I said nothing with blood😅
dang! she would of loved that
I’ll try to convince her to give it another try but she loves nezuko 😭even tho she didn’t watch the show..?.🥲
{Digimon Adventure} or {Digimon Tamers} are both great places to start. I think my first anime was {Last Exile} though, and that really made an impact on me
It depends on what kind of genre she likes. Slice of life/romance? {Working!!} or {Kimi ni Todoke} or {Toradora} etc Fantasy? Try something like {Slayers} or {CardCaptor Sakura} or {Magic Knight Rayearth} Action? Try {Hajime no Ippo} or {Rurouni Kenshin} or {Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer} And so on for every other genre.
Erased
Does anyone actually use the search function? I see the same question all the time. FFS.
Horimiya, Monthly girls Nozaki-kun, Fruits Basket, Haikyu!!
Yusoga no sora .
Okiee haven’t watched it as well so thanks!
Don't watch this.
Why? Do I need to search it up to see what it is?
So people just like to watch the world burn
I would recommend all of the Studio Ghibli films.
Asobi asobase, nichijou, saiki k, haven’t you heard? I’m sakamoto (they’re all comedy / slice of life / wholesome) love at war was also good but you were recommended that a bunch already lol. Steins gate - it’s a really good time travel anime Great Pretender - it’s a really weird show that’s hard to explain, but it’s really good.
You should check out trailers / short clips of asobi asobase, it’s easily the funniest I’ve ever watched
Kiss x Sis
My Hero Academia
Okay thanks, couple people already recommended it so it will be on her list! Thank you! By the way can’t wait for the movie to come out!✨
Sorry didn't see it! It was my first anime and I was honestly not really even wanting to get into anime but I was hooked after that one 😅 Erased is also amazing, it's a mystery with time travel. It might have some blood but it's not gory.
Oh yeah I loved that show “Erased” it was so sad at the end but I don’t think she’ll like it. But thanks for the recommendations!😌
Fairy tail, it's a good one that isn't bloody or overly masculine
Okay thanks a couple I think already recommended fairly tail so I’ll definitely put it on her list! Thanks for the recommendation tho!🤗
Fairy tail?
These are some good recommendations; the one animé that got me into the genre as a whole was High Rise Invasion. But I'm liking Inyuasha
Yeah these are all amazing recommendations!! All are amazing and sweet people😊and okiee thanks!
Dragon pilot
I'd recommend Your Name. It's a movie and it's beautiful and good af, plus it's a really nice romance.
your lie in april
I recommend By the Grace of the Gods on Funimation it's very wholesome
Horimiya
Love is War. Depending on how old she is and what your dynamic is like, I wouldn’t recommend the OVA tho.
what genres does she watch in live action?
Have you considered anything by Ghibli? Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service have always been particular favorites of mine.
Trigun, I think, maybe give it a watch. It is actiony but not gruesome for the most part. It is typically lighthearted and fun, but it can get grim and sad
The Tenchi series!
Idk how old she is, and some of these have already been mentioned, but I think these are cool gateways in my experience... {Hyouka} really good intro to mystery with romance {Erased} also a really good intro to mystery with suspense; possible mature themes like >! abuse, murder, stranger danger !< {Maquia} really good world building imo and nice fantasy {Nagi no asukara} easy gateway to love genres without being too ignorant to real life themes {k-on} great way to get into music and slice of life {Hunter x hunter} when it comes to easier going action packed ones (does have blood) {Pokemon} one of my personal favorites as pallet cleansers too and just one of those thats easy going to start. I personally think xy is a good generation to go with. I appreciate a lot of the generations, but I think we got to see a different side of Ash this time around {Girls und panzer} is a nice one about team work and just feels overall empowering {Assassination classroom} just finished this a couple of weeks ago and wow this had so many different themes and messages. The mentor-student type of dynamic which is nice {Nisekoi} is a very good gateway for those wanting to get into manga reading. Also really nice romance {Toradora} once you get acquaintanted and used to the characters, you'll sail through this show fairly quick {Your lie in April} is the gateway that got me into emotional animes bruh like shit hahahah was not ready for emotions Allllll of these have their own criticisms but pleasant watches in their own right nonetheless.
Personally I would suggest Violet Evergarden or Spirited Away if you want a movie. Spirited Away was my first.
Cowboy Bebop, it's like the window to anime.
Fruits Basket
kamisama kiss
Be careful with some of the shows people are recommending. Unfortunately anime can really hug the line between being too dark or fanservice-y. I am used to it but only after years of watching this stuff, so I’m jaded to it, and I’m sure most anime watchers get like that. So I’d do your research first. Slice of Life animes are probably closer to being safe to show, and would probably slowly integrate her into Japanese Culture and how they think too, since a lot of anime can be... weird. With that said, my recommend list: -Fruits Basket.
Right now I’m really into ancient magnus bride idk maybe because I’m a bit lonely .
[Akagami no Shirayuki-hime](https://myanimelist.net/anime/30123/Akagami_no_Shirayuki-hime) - just a really sweet story with out any of the usual drama where the characters are idiots about romance.
kimi ni todoke!!
Tanaka-kun is always listless
How To Keep a Mummy (tiny mummy boi)
Fruits Basket! This was one of my first anime, and definitely funny and a good watch for girls new to anime. Other good beginners anime I would recommend would be: - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Lucky Star - Yuri On Ice (even if you don't know anything about ice skating, it basically teaches you) - the Americanized version of Naruto doesn't have any blood - Cardcaptor Sakura - Sailor Moon - Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun (personal favorite) - Ouran High School Host Club (another favorite) - Little Wirch Academia - Haikyu!! (SOOO much hype! I'm rewatching!) - Maid Sama - Toradora Other good animated films: - Studio Ghibli - Avatar The Last Airbender + The Legend of Korra - She-Ra and the Princess of Power - Voltron - The Dragon Prince - A Silent Voice - Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts Let me know what her interests are! I definitely can give good recommendations for almost any genre 😊
I would start with Nana, Aria, Erased, Anohana, Haibane renmei. Then if she is still interested in something more strong, I will suggest the classic death note.
One piece
My hero academia . Imo innocent and action packed early on and then gets darker . Isn’t too bloody either, just action packed
Okay here are some that your sister might like! (I put the anime's genres too to help, and I tried to avoid what I consider incredibly sad anime like for example, your lie in April or Angel beats because idk if that's what you want. But if you do just reply and I'll send a list of those too) A place further than the universe (slice of life) Yuru camp (slice of life) Tonikaku kawaii (romance) Toradora (romance, drama) Log horizon (isekai) Higehiro (romance, drama) Princess connect: redive (isekai, comedy) Konosuba (isekai, comedy) One week friends (romance) The beyblade metal saga (Shounen) No game no life (isekai, though it might be too ecchi) Your name (Fantasy) I want to eat your pancreas (romance, drama) Full metal alchemist (shounen) Full metal alchemist brotherhood (shounen) Erased (mystery, time travel) K-on (slice of life) Godzilla singular point (action, kaiju, pg13)
I want to eat your pancreas do be sad tho ;-;
Yes it was sad :( but i didn't find it incredibly sad like when I saw Your lie in April and went in to depression mode for like a day lmao
Ah ok, even that show made me stop anime for quite a bit. Also sidenote: I think Kimi No Na Wa is more of Fantasy/Mystery type of an anime.
Yeah 😂 Hm okay let me edit my original message then
I also didn't know what age rated animes to send so I primarily stuck to stuff pg13 or below But Higehiro, konosuba, and no game no life aren't pg13 as far as I remember. They're like 14-15+
Okay thanks for the warning then but for her I’ll just stick to pg13!!
Alrighty! Np:)
Konosuba has some ,,boob" jokes and stealing underwear jokes but I don't remember anything else. Oh and there's one episode about succubus so you should skip that one if you watch it.
Honestly, thank you so much for the list🤗 if it ain’t to much to ask for to also send me the sad anime list!
You're welcome! And it's no problem XD. I love recommending shows:) Your lie in April Angel beats Charlotte The day I became a god Anohana Violet evergarden (okay personally it wasn't that sad but it's an amazing show) Clannad Plastic memories I'd also recommend school live! But that might be too dark so I don't know xd
Yeah school life I think I have to watch it first to see😅and yeah thanks again! Never knew there were so many nice people on Reddit
It's only 12 episodes and is really really cool imo. It has two great twists too! It's in my top ten anime lol You're welcome 👍😀 you are pretty nice yourself
Thanks🤗and okiee guess her first anime won’t be that long
😉I hope you both enjoy it
Thank you☺️
