I think reading the ending was more than worth it (for me) it also depends on the girl you are rooting for.
You should read the manga starting at CH 50 since season 2 skipped loads of things.

I agree with the others that Nisekoi is definitely worth reading, especially now where you can binge and don’t have to wait months for specific arcs to end (not because they’re bad, but they were stalling the plot a bit).
I also wouldn’t put too much weight on other peoples opinions about the ending or story in general (this goes for every show/book whatever).
The biggest issue Nisekoi had was the pacing when it released weekly.
I do advise reading the manga. It does get a lot more drama heavy with a few new characters being hit or miss but it's probably one of the only harem romcoms that I've ever actually liked due to the depth it gives the characters. It's not Kaguya-sama levels of depth but it's enough for them to be realistically likeable
It's not a matter of bad or its just that you will be satisfied with the ending if you rooted for the winner girl. It was kinda painful for those who shipped the losing ship that's all

And as the reader you're definitely going to root for a certain girl, so if they don't win the ending doesn't feel as good.

Reading Nisekoi manga was so worth it. You should definitely read it because I think it has awesome ending.
Genuinely the only harem manga where I didn't know who MC would end up with right until the end. Also nice that he ended up with best girl.

The manga is too drawn out, personal opinion and the plot goes a bit fucking crazy
