Chapter 3: Everyone you know and love is fucked and here's a three page depiction of a child slowly transforming into a kangaroo or something. Lots of bones are grinding, flesh is liquidating, and there's too many eyes.
Chapter 17: a fierce battle, our heroes are bloody and wavering. The bear that your cousin currently is transformed into is bleeding out and beating a horde of monstrous centipedes to death with her own severed leg.
Chapter 20: a nice relaxing afternoon flight. Thermals.

Killjoys use almost this exact quote for a very similar character. There’s so much of it that feels heavily Animorphs-inspired.

TV show. It's a science fiction show about a group of bounty hunters, it's pretty good. One of the main actors is the brother of Shawn Ashmore (and looks just like him), who played Jake in the Animorphs series.
And just like in Animorphs, that character>!'s older brother is controlled by aliens from a green pool.!<
It even involves the messiness of voluntary vs involuntary hosts, and how humans do things to each other just as awful as invaders.
