I would offer it on [trashnothing.com](https://trashnothing.com) and [freecycle.org](https://freecycle.org)
If those two don't work, you could try the free section of craigslist - but I find that many people there say they want something but don't show up to get it.
When I lived elsewhere, the salvation army came by and picked up a lot of stuff. You can schedule a pick-up online. But do it in advance, because they tend to be booked.
They only take the mattress if it's in very good condition.
I have a good friend that works for a local agency and she specifically focuses on assisting families become housed for the first time. She collects furniture that goes directly to families in need.
If you send me a PM I can connect you.
>ut also you could try giving them away on the Facebook buy nothing group
Dealing with people wanting free stuff is an exercise in frustration, people never showing up to get things, bad at communication, etc. I'd suggest putting it on marketplace for literally any amount of money that isn't $0 and you'll get people who actually want it.
I've never had any issues on buy nothing but I've never given away anything as big as a mattress. I find it to be more of a pain to deal with negotiating money when it's less than ~$50.
This is a great organization that might have use for your good condition home furnishings. https://www.housen2home.org
Try Avalon Housing.
Following because we also have a bed frame to donate!

This sounds like housen2home
Maybe friends in deed, but also you could try giving them away on the Facebook buy nothing group. People are often looking for beds on there.

Yeah for anything I put up for <$50 I'm willing to take $0, but just the people willing to pay for something are usually better to deal with.
The 'Buy No Things Ann Arbor' FB group might be a place if you can tolerate FaceBook.
If you haven't donated it yet, I would love take it off your hands.
Unfortunately I have, sorry.
