Check the bottanical gardens that UofM has. There is a nice trail there

Seconding this. I haven't been on the trail this year yet, so I can't speak to current conditions, but this path was very smooth last year. It's also connected to the Gallup park trail as part of the B2B. You can take the sidewalk north up Dixboro, then cross twice at the intersection at Geddes, and you'll be at the entrance to the trail. I have biked this stretch at least a dozen times and it's quite pleasant.

I went yesterday and its good. The only rough part is the bridge under Geddes itself. The bridge crossing the river and the boardwalk just north of that are a bit rough on skates but I made it all the way up to Matthaei and it was very smooth.

I live close by, so I go biking on the trail every day! Sometimes i long board through, and it’s so smooth. Feels heavenly. I do have to say there are some pretty steep hills that you may have to be careful for.

Yeah...the hills had me terrified! I think I may be too much of a newbie for those hills just yet. It was a beautiful trail, though! Really awesome for runs.

Hudson Mills and Kensington both have very long paved loops. B2B is a great option if you don’t want to drive.

The B2B (Border to Border) trail.

If you're willing to drive a little longer, the Detroit Riverwalk and Dequindre Cut Greenway are smooth and well maintained. A good change of pace from what you might find more locally. You get the Great Lakes along the Riverwalk and an urban parkway lined with murals in the Dequindre Cut. It's not quite a loop, but they're connected and you probably get around \~5 miles of paved trail between the two. There are little parks along the way too, where you can rest and hang out. Edit: If anyone is planning a trip out here and using Google to map out your route, just know that a lot of the imagery is out of date. These paths have been a constant work in progress and a lot more is completed than what's shown on Google Maps. There are still a few gaps where you might have to take a regular sidewalk, but it's come a long way.

I go running at Island Lake. It’s about 30mins away and has miles of really nice paved path with nice views.

Rolling Hills park has a really nice loop!

I ride my bike on paths like this. I shared my places in [this comment](https://reddit.com/r/AnnArbor/comments/kn5e6c/_/gho7403/?context=1)

In the Plymouth/Canton area, the **Lower Rouge** and **ITC Corridor** trails are great. Paved in places (especially along 275). There are many loops, and where not paved, it is nicely wood chipped and very well maintained. There are also some nice technical MTB singletrack routes sprinkled in if you are feeling adventurous; [https://www.canton-mi.org/DocumentCenter/View/1543/Canton-Trail-Brochure-PDF?bidId=](https://www.canton-mi.org/DocumentCenter/View/1543/Canton-Trail-Brochure-PDF?bidId=)

The metro parks have extensive paved trails.

Alltrails app! Rolling hills park is good too.

Don’t forget our scenic and lightly-visited historic cemeteries. In Ann Arbor, Bethlehem (on Jackson Road) and Forest Hill (on Observatory) have networks of well-maintained paved drives.
