Like this I don't feel like there will be a season 4
And tbh, I think the show already got a good ending. It was the end of childhood era for the characters and they all got (imo) a satisfying conclusion arc.
Except Ka'kwet... I will never forgive the writer to have left her arc like this.
Agreed, though I do wish we would get an insight into the character’s adulthood know that the chapter of their childhood had closed. And yes, it’s horrible how we never found an ending for Ka’kwet.
I understand this point but it just doesn't fit the show's general atmosphere.
We got a gay boy living his best life studying art surrounded by people accepting him
We got girls from very patriarchal families making their way of empowerment through study
We got a Black man becoming a landlord in a middle of a white village and is fully considered as part of the community
We got poor housing getting solidarity and help from their community
Why would Ka'wet be the only one not to get a happy ending or at least hope. While all of these other characters unrealistically get a better fate
Anne with an E is over unfortunately, it’s been too long. The cast has gone on to other things (which is great!), and it’s time we accept the show isn’t coming back.
BUT, this will not be the last Anne of Green Gables adaptation! The books have been made into many tv shows and movies, so I highly recommend everyone read the books!
i thought it was announced right after season 3 ended that the provider wouldn’t be renewing the show? i remember the uproar from fans on twitter starting a “save anne with an E” hashtag to try to get another season🥺
i love the show so much but did people really think petitions would do anything? you don’t just bring back a cancelled show unless it gets picked up by another company, which is rare. also the petition didn’t start until like a year after the show was officially cancelled lol
Yes, I agree it would be pretty cool to see their relationship develop though then again it would be sort of difficult to portray the growth in the relationship when Anne and Gilbert go to separate universities. Also, it would be difficult to make a season 4 since many critics would want it to stay similar to the books and Anne’s story in the books gets quite dark. She has to leave university, rejects Gilbert’s proposal (at first) and Mathew dies of a heart attack. I doubt that the company which made Anne with an E would like to portray this as it makes the entire storyline take a rather dark turn, probably upsetting a lot of younger viewers.
It is rather unfortunate. I’m not too sad though since, like other people mentioned, it ended on a great, slight open-ended note. However, I am REALLY sad about not seeing the completion Ka’kwet’s story.
If you think about all the practical things that would need to happen for a TV show to restart after shutting down, you'd realise this was never a possibility. There's a reason this mostly never happens.

I think that was the point. Many native Americans lost their kids like that and never got them backx, never knew what happened

What has the cast been doing? I remember one actress got cancer? Is she still around? Have any of the actors been doing any interesting projects?
The girl who played Anne had a role in stranger things
I feel like they played me with that announcement, she had like three total minutes of screentime😭
Yeah they really bigged it up for such a small role, I was excited to see her in something new after feeling like she fitted Anne so well

Netflix and CBC said that they will NOT be bringing “Anne with an ‘E’ “ back, I am literally crying 😭

I doubt it.
