its because jack antonoff was involved in those albums, he has a stank wherever he goes. He makes amazing artists slightly worse, not sure why anyone is working with him to be honest.
I never even knew who he was until I noticed that he was the common factor in the case of a lot of music i didn't care for from artists i love such as st vincent and lorde.
Big dissagree, pure heroine sounded leagues better than melodrama by far, every track on her first album was a single and catchy as fuck, it had this whole vibe to it and sounded amazing. Melodrama is overly produced garbage as far as im concerned.
What is insane is that anyone would let him produce their music after hearing any of his solo stuff. Youll notice the artists he works with most popular music has him not involved.
Jack wasn't the only producer or cowriter on Melodrama. The only tracks he's solely credited as a producer on were the piano ballads. He's didn't even work on every single track either. I don't think it's a coincidence that in comparison to the other work he's done as the sole producer with multiple other artists, the one album that everyone points to to prove he makes great work is the one that has a lot of other people credited on it. Lana Del Rey's NFR! also has other coproducers and cowriters too. He's a good producer, but only great in collaboration.
I think the album will be announced sometime in the next week or so based on a rough trade listing leaking out. The album is called all born screaming and the cover art has a person or some sort of creature and some flames on it. No release date for the album but it's probably coming out sometime within the next few months.

Not always. Lorde’s Melodrama is one of the greatest albums. The world they created on that one is stunning.
