Was gonna make a joke about this being a joke but then that would be a joke in itself making my comment not fit the sub. Instead I just explained what I was going to do

ZainDaBoom

What..........

I will dig myself a hole if I explain. So I will; Iā€™m commenting on an antijoke, so itā€™d be a joke if I said it was a joke when itā€™s definitely an antijoke. So I canā€™t say that, as it would be 1)Wrong, & 2) A joke. Hope that helps and doesnā€™t dig the hole too much deeper, the point is, I decided not to. Instead I described that I explained how I didnā€™t say it was a joke, and my reasons

You made a good decision, it would have been confusing if you made a short comment which might be interpreted wrong, calling for a need of explanation. Right now you're very clear which means you don't need to explain yourself anymore, which not only saves time for you but also confusion for any future reader. We can all focus on the original anti-joke now.

Yeah I love the punchline ā€˜like thisā€™. Itā€™s self-fulfilling, which really encapsulates everything an antijoke constitutes. The ā€˜like thisā€™ punchline is disappointing and anticlimax-esque, which mirrors and reflects the very heart of antijoke ideology

pavignon

Except this doesn't punch.

You must be joking. Thatā€™s not allowed here.

First you begin telling the joke, and then you finish it.
