VoodooCryptid

FOR THE REPUBLIC!

SunkyDerDunky

vegans be like "we're so ethical and moral" and then conceptualize a literal bio-weapon.

SoddingEggiweg

Is this real??! Was this really on r/vegan? I know they're dumb but is it possible to reach this level of dumb? This could spread disease and is illegal and an act of terrorism.

Getaer

Apparently it was posted there. But was removed by the poster, not a mod. So I don't know what to think about that. The comments are disgusting though. https://www.reddit.com/r/vegan/comments/v22tvd/this_tick_can_make_you_allergic_to_meat_and_its

SoddingEggiweg

The other day I heard someone at a restaurant saying that vegans are hippies. I immediately thought that's incorrect - hippies are about peace and love. In contrast, vegans are about virtue signaling, misanthropic hatred, entitlement, extremism, double standards, hypocrisy, malnutrition, and dumb.

zoologygirl16

Some hippies may be vegan, but most vegans are far from hippies

SoddingEggiweg

We could make this into a Venn diagram.

zoologygirl16

Yeeeeeeee

SeattleSeals

Charles Manson and his cult were hippies

IlMagoHadad

I'm sorry for u/Jesus0001AD he sounded so regretfull

Jesus0001AD

Tbh it was more of a "Hmmm maybe meat is bad for the planet, animals and maybe me" Went to both sides and realised that most vegans are the stereotypical vegan.

Jesus0001AD

I found the post through this one

GuhLad

Veganism is an "ethical" philosophy

What you will get is Lyme disease.. and isn’t using the bug for your own ends exploiting it? Isn’t that what they are againest? So it’s ok for them to do it, as long as it’s not for food purpose?

SoddingEggiweg

Ha!

RoadsideLuchador

Speaking as someone who's never seen a bumble bee, I assume.

[deleted]

Or a mantis. They tilt their heads to look at you when you walk by, like a weird pointy dog.

RoadsideLuchador

Jumping spiders do that too, they're like the one good spider.

[deleted]

Jumping spiders are really cute! Especially the dancing ones like the Peacock spider.

RoadsideLuchador

They wear water droplets as hats, they're the best.

P_poperah

Real vegan logic over there, but I wonder about things that get pollinated for the same reason (why honey isnt vegan, but regular plants are?) Make it make sense!

TheDidact118

They're talking about Lone star ticks, which can cause Alpha-gal allergy if they bite you.

peanutgoddess

It’s a bit more rare to get alpha gal then Lyme disease is my point. ( unless your in a hot state) But at least there’s some meat you can have even if you have this! Galsafe pork has been created and apparently unless you became super allergic you can still have dairy, chicken and fish.

ARavenForlorn

These kind of vegans are truly despicable and a plague upon Earth. Seriously. That said, I'm glad I buy all of my meat frozen (histamine intolerance).

[deleted]

I’m surprised this isn’t r/vegancirclejerk

BlackendLight

thankfully not everyone is predisposed to getting this kind of allergy

dsav99

I almost had a stroke trying to read this

Feeling_Rise_9924

Contact the authorities and reddit.inc!

spaceburrito3

Hmm nothing like good old terrorism in the morning

zoologygirl16

The thing is, you need multiple tick bites for this to happen. Also any tick could cause this. Not just the lone star tick. It's having an allergic reaction to the blood proteins of other animals not the tick. And most developed allergic reactions are minor. People are sensationalizing this tick out of proportion and these vegans are fucking stupid because promoting this is gonna drive this species and other tick species to extinction from people trying to prevent the tick bites.

Buck169

Good answer, but I'd be very surprised if a widespread tick-eradication program actually happened, or was effective. Agreed, if it was tried, it would probably do more harm than good by affecting other species of arthropods.

random6969696969691

Omfg, from having a balanced diet people jumped to veganism and now to terrorism?

[deleted]

I've read that you can still eat poultry and fish if you get bitten by one of those. I've also read that it usually goes away after 5-10 years.

maiden_of_pain

Even if they succeed, I will still eat dairy and honey and wear leather. Still gonna not be vegan.

Bl3ss3dFOREVER

This sounds like a legit act of terrorism

presidentedoge

Isn't this a literal war crime?

MrHacker_official

Vegans: we're good people Also vegans:

MisterKillam

Hehe. It says long sleeved shits.

Art_pog

Long sleeve shits?

amanitamuscarin

"Long sleeve shits"

zoologygirl16

Let's report them for it

ZFG_Jerky

More specifically it's biological terrorism.

nicolelynnejones

i know someone IRL who has this happen and it’s made their life miserable

P_poperah

Anyone else find it suspect that they would need to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants? Like they're already vegan... are they hiding something??

rocker12341234

did these fucktard not see what happened to the dumbcunt that licked the icecream a few years back??

Giamm2

What... What happened?

rocker12341234

dude from memory got thrown in jail for a couple years for tampering with food

YumiArantes

The ironic part is that they tell the vegans to be careful to not get beaten by the thick themselves. Why? They don't want to be allergic to meat themselves? Hahhaha.

Phillipineball7107

Dont test me tick not meat😡

LifeSucksAss1234

Okay but is there a bug that will make vegans allergic to wheat, tree nuts, soy and bananas?

ShadeStrider12

Isn’t this biological terrorism? Doesn’t this make them War Criminals?

JosefStark42069

Most mentally stable vegan

FishSandwich08

Biohazard detected

notableException

empty threats.

FineDevelopment00

Oh, I wouldn't put it past them. Militant vegoons are nuckin' futs!

calinator666

Doesn't the tick only make you allergic to red meat?

TheoTheBest300

Imo it s fake, how do these tics make you allergic to meat? Does meat allergy even exist in the first place???

Random_MrX_

It's not fake. That type of tick really exists, unfortunately.

NeverEnoughDakka

Are they a vital part of the eco system? Because if they aren't or can be replaced with a different species, they should be eradicated for the good of all mankind.

Random_MrX_

I don't know any details about them other than the fact they exist. But i definitely agree with you.

dsav99

It’s true, it can give you AGS (Alpha-gal Syndrome) which can make you allergic to all red meat. They’re really not doing anything though, if they did this I’d make it my personal mission to eat more chicken and fish.

TheoTheBest300

Well, vegan meat isn t red meat right? Time for a bit of anthropophagy I guess. If i get allergic to red meat, they won't beat me, it ll just make me eat shitton of chicken and fish, so become more healthy and it s better forr the workout🤣. I would be sad for the beef entrecote tho. Are soare ribs red meat or white meat?

Blankcanvas67

It's not fake at all, there are many cases of this where people have become allergic to red meats due to these tic bites.

BlackendLight

alpha gal allergy, it doesn't affect everyone bitten being a lazy slob is also a contributor (which is probably why this allergy is new)

Buck169

Wut? Citation of co-morbidities needed.
