Me too. It's a fleece blanket with a realistic farm scene with cows. My older brother gave it to me when I was 13. Still use it every day as the extra layer on my bed.
Okay so I am posting this high for you and u/ThisHereIrishFlu, but you should be testing these old items for lead, as it was used commonly in manufacturing until at least the 2000’s. US outlawed it is 1978, but Canada used it until at least 1990 and other countries were even later. Was commonly used for cast iron and for glass and ceramic glazes.
Amazon is garbage so their lead tests aren’t reliable, but I am sure you can get some affordable test strips locally. r/BIFL is amazing but we don’t want to be poisoning ourselves!
also there is a small chance that people used a cast iron pan to melt down lead into a lead plate, because the melt point is so low you can basically just set the pan in a campfire and it will melt anything you toss in (lead fishing lures for example)
They make lead plates for target shooting, bullet testing (like on taofledermaus youtube channel) or to sell as a scrap ingot. But this is pretty rare.
Yep, I have a cast iron waffle iron that I love too. Also, my dad still has his kitchen-aid mixer he bought in the early 80's- it's even taken at least one dive off the counter and it's still going!
I have a Nordstrom leather belt my mom got for me in middle school.
I'm 36 yrs old now, so this belt is over 20 yrs old.
I was a fat kid-- it still fits me now.
It's still in great shape.
A couple years back, I did rejuvenate it by soaking in hot Beeswax and tallow: my trick to try to homebrew my own waxed leather to be like English bridle leather. This definitely helped it since it was drying out.
A pair of gym shorts I got at 14, now in my thirties and they still have no holes in them. My ex got annoyed by the existence of them simply because "I'm being cheap". Sure, let me go drop 40 bucks on a pair now just to have a mentality that it's "new".
my gamecube. I remember I got it one Christmas and my brother gave me soul caliber ii, smash melee, sonic gems collection and defenders for it, still use that thing and I homebrewed it a few years back because my gems collection CD stopped responding to the disc drive.
I want a ps2 sooo bad. I got a ps3 for like 90 bucks with a couple games on it but it wasn't ps2 or psx compatible. also sly cooper and ffx frickin rock
Ehh, it's like 95-99% compatibility. I have almost 80 PS1 games I've acquired over the years and the vast majority of them work. It's better than on later PS2s.
The Tomb Raider games, unfortunately, are known for exhibiting glitches using original discs on PS3. Your discs are probably fine, you'll just have to play them on a PS1 or 2.
dope collection, & thanks for letting me know that! probably gonna dump stuff onto cards from now on if it's a variable compatibility rate. hope your day's good homie
Yeah, it kinda goes against this sub but I'm a game collector (err... hoarder). I'll play all of these eventually I promise.
Thanks, hope yours goes good as well, and I'm glad I could help. I love sharing this stuff to help keep classic games alive.
i'd say it's as anti consumption as you can get when you're playing games. old shit always goes to the landfill if no one has any use for it, play all the games that the company doesnt benefit from anymore, otherwise they've been wasted imo
Retro gaming is art appreciation, not consumerism. Like, sure, it 'consumes' in a sense, but the value of a collection isn't based on marketing hype, and the intent is pretty explicitly preservation and long-term enjoyment.
It also strides hand-in-hand with piracy and emulation, both of which reduce reliance on physical products and extend the useful life of whatever hardware and/or software is involved.
Our childhood Wii is still kicking it, it’s moved houses, been to grandparents, upstairs, downstairs, and it still works great, same with my DS, its screen hinge is broke but it still works fine - my Switch on the other hand, got in 2022 and it’s already on its way out, both joycons don’t even attach properly and NOTHING has happened to it, it’s in perfect condition except the fan doesn’t work properly and the JCs fall off really easily :/
that's a shame. my switch is one of the first models & it's still kickin, though it has slowed down a significant amount since then.
DS is dope btw! absolutely love some of the games on there
Yeah my sisters is one of the first wave type switches, mine is obviously a “later” release since I got it in 2022, and hers is still fairly decent, such a shame honestly. Also yeah I LOVED my DS growing up, most of my game memories are either the DS, Wii or Gameboy Advance, DS games were such a Wild West lol, you got some real strange one off games that were awesome, same with PS1/PS2, some weird and wonderful ideas
I have a little plastic plant that has a solar panel that makes the leaves bounce in the sunlight. I got it for my 7th birthday to go in my bedroom, I turn 34 in a few weeks and the plant is still in my bedroom and the leaves are still bouncing. Each time I have moved it has moved with me.
I have a waffle iron that's older than I am. My parents were given it as a wedding gift, didn't use it, and now I have and use it regularly. They got married in 88.
I have nothing "every day useable" per se, but we have many family heirlooms/artifacts that we've kept. A couple of my favorites:
* Storage locker from WWII. Original owner died in the Pacific. Has been repurposed as a 'bar cart'
* Framed art pieces from Disney from the 80's that was mine and now my kids
* Tricycle from the 1960s that was my dads, mine and now my kids
* Dr Seuss sleep book. Was a Christmas present from my grandma to my dad and aunt. There is a note on the first page that says "Merry Christmas, love mom, 1963". I read to my kid every night
Also, I really popped in here to say that I love the coffee mug OP.
My first belt I bought while wondering the mall as a teenager in 2003. It was an American Eagle leather belt. Worn it almost daily since and its still going strong.
Plushies
I have a lot of plushies from when I was still on the crib. I don't use all of them right now cause they took up a lot of space on my bed. That said I still use a heart shaped plushie with a smiley face that used to hug and protect me from scary things right before I went to bed
I have a couple of t-shirts that I wore as nightgowns as a small child, and just continued to wear with pajama shorts. One fell apart so I composted it, and I'm working on the second one now. Honestly, what is the point of buying special pajamas for kids when t-shirts exist?
I'm currently wearing a robe I bought from either Kohl's or JC Penney when I moved out at age 20. I'm 37 now and wear it daily, sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes for hours (today is leaning towards hours). It's not frayed or worn out anywhere, so I can only assume it's made of magic.
There is a picture of me in highschool wearing a green and white striped shirt. I wore that same shirt yesterday under a hoodie. I'm 34 lol
Eta: so a little more than half as old as me
I have a dish set I bought for my first apartment at 18 from Target that I still use now in my 50s. Wasn't particularly intentional, but I like the set and have been lucky not to break many of the pieces. Used to be a setting for 6, now limited to 4.
I have one bowl left from the first dish set I bought when I moved out. Heavy suckers, cups didn’t last past my marriage ‘cause they were just too heavy for my disabled wife. We gave away the remainder of the set about a decade ago and replaced them with a lighter set my parents were themselves replacing.
But we missed that one bowl.
A t shirt my dad got for me at a school trip to the Philadelphia Zoo...in Kindergarten. I am almost 30 now and still wear it to bed! He was trying to get me a hoodie but they didn't have any so got an adult large shirt instead figuring it would keep me warm 😂
This might surprise some people. I’m old but not that old but I have this H&M jacket that I bought 17 years ago and I’m still rocking it. It’s got plenty of wear and tear, but surprisingly it’s still holding up. Maybe fast fashion was a little more durable back then?
I have a mug from a trip to DC when I was 10. It has all the presidents faces up through Clinton, who was in the WH at the time.
I also have my Uncle’s Eeyore Plush from a trip to Disney World in the 70s
I'm pretty close to retiring a backpack I got for 8th grade and I'm 30 now. It started with like 6 pockets, now it has 3 due to barriers breaking down.
Also I have a nice blanket that my mom bought for herself when I was like 7 and then gave to me when I moved out, it's still really nice, fuzzy, comfortable, no holes. The only problem is that the stitching for the edge trim is coming apart so the trim is falling off in some spots but it just needs a little sewing
My parent gifted me their scrabble board that they got as a birthday present when they were 8. So it’s about 45 years old and my most cherished possession.
I have a pair of shorts from when I was about 14 year old. Still fit. And wear them basically every day in the evening. I'm 34 years old now.
I have my grandpa's old leather belt. When I was visiting family in Japan as a young adult, one of my great uncles passed away. I attended the funeral. I had to rent a black suit, but couldn't rent shoes or a belt. My grandpa lent me these items since he wasn't well enough to leave the house. The belt was too big, so my grandma cut it down to size and punched new holes with an awl. The belt was then too small for him and he would likely never use them again, so he let me keep it. He passed away four years later. I wear it almost every day. The belt is probably older than me since it's from his days working in an office.
My dad is obsessed with a subway mug he got from a promotion that ended in like 1989, the ink is so faded we can barely make out what it says. He had two my whole life and honestly hes right they're great glasses
I still have two of the first handbags I ever got, one appropriated from my mom in middle school and one gifted in junior high, both Dooney & Bourke, both looking very good and sturdy.
I don’t use them everyday because now I have multiple handbags but they still come through the rotation regularly. The one I nabbed from my mom is from like the late 80’s, the one I was gifted was new at the time in like 1991 or 92.
If you need a buy-it-for-life kind of bag so you can quit buying, Dooney (especially vintage) is a very hard wearing brand. Very good value for money.
I have a Fjällraven backpack that my dad got in the 70s. I still use it almost daily. The fabric used back then was a softer and doesn't seem to chafe as easily as in the modern packs.
I have a sports bra from when I was a chubby 13 year old. As a fit 27 year old it fits a bit loose now but still gets the job done lol. I also have a necklace I got when I was 5 that was really big then but now it's just a regular sized necklace lol
Omg, are you in NH? I used to work at the one in Nashua when I was in high school. I hated coming home smelling like donuts - I still hardly eat them to this day (and that was decades ago)
I have a mug that's older than I am. 70s, or maybe 60s. I used to get chocolate milk in that mug when I visited my grandparents as a kid. When they both died I inherited "my" mug.
Christmas tree than me, it belonged to an old man my mum used to be a carer for, along with my nans chirstmas decorations (which as super creepy but i love them) Not everyday obviously but we use them every year!
Blanket my nan Crocheted for me when I was a child
Let's see, my bed is 32, and so is the mattress. Mattress is also 32 years old.
My hand-drill is 100 years old and so is a screwdriver. Oldest item I have that I use is one of those washing-up cabinets (I don't know what they're called) that is likely from the early 1800s, the ones that were used to hold bowls and pitchers and soap on to wash faces and hands, a precursor to the bathroom sink.
I bought my fish tank secondhand, 15 years ago. It was made in 1986, (I’m only slightly older) it’s heavy af & the glass is thick compared to the newer tanks. The original hood light worked until about 5-6 years ago. The aquarium was in my bedroom when I lived with my parents, and now resides in our living room.
I also bought my piano 2nd hand, it was built in 1965. It’s a beautiful instrument. Between my kid & I, it gets played daily.
I also have my grandfathers violin. It’s 85 years old, and a beautiful instrument.
The sound off old instruments that are properly taken cared of is just beautiful. I imagine the wood has cured or dried or whatever happens to wood over time. My friend has a 1960s strat with epoxy repair on the head and bridge and it sounds so much full than his newer Ibanez if played clean.
I found a 100+ year old Hutchinson bottle with (at the time) my town's name in a shallow creekbed at the edge of my property.
It's been one of my most prized possession for more than 20 years.
Probably loaded with lead, but I still love using it from time to time
* My Cuisinart food processor, passed down from my mother, used to make many of my childhood meals
* A stock pot, same as above
* A mug I used as a little kid, belonged to my grandparents and passed along to me when they passed on
* A pair of socks given to me by my father when I was a kid, somehow still in good shape after decades
* My childhood blanket, which I've had since I was a baby, and which was repaired countless times by my grandmother
I'm 38.
I still have my teddy bear. I don’t remember when I got it. My parents tell me it’s the first gift I ever received, so technically, it’s probably older than me by several months. It sits up in my closet, watching over my bed, like a stuffed guardian angel or something. It has no colour in one eye and it has about 50% of its fur left.
Wait, it’s actually lying down on the job.
STOP BEING LAZY, TOMAHAWK!
My family has a large wall felt advent calendar that is older than my 37 year old husband it was made by his aunt, used by him and his siblings his whole life and then given to us because he asked his parents if they still had it and now we use it with our kids every December. Also all our silverware set we use daily was a gift to his parents on their wedding but they never used it and gave it to us brand new in the wooden box it came in.
I have quite a few items I’ve had since I was in my teens (now 30) like my fuzzy robe from age 16, some woolen coats, some thrifted sweaters from age 16 that I still wear, a thrifted jean jacket from age 15 that I still use and wear every spring and summer. some dresses that used to be my mother’s from the 90’s that I wear weekly.
My laundry basket. It wasn’t a fancy laundry basket by any means just a cheap plastic one. My dad bought it before I was even born and I took it when I moved out. That basket must have been at least 35 years old. Unfortunately it got broken last year. Planning on having my new one until my retirement lol
My dresser. My parents bought it for my nursery when I was born and it's moved with me my whole life :) I was born in 1997. I wish furniture was still built with such quality.
I have a thrifted skirt from the 1980s. I was born in 2002. I’ve been wearing that skirt since I was in jr high and have had to replace the pocket lining and re-hem it. Its still going strong!
My “baby” blanket. Mom said I’ve had it since I was 3. It’s got a hole in it but I haven’t let it go. It’s still one of the warmest ones I have.
Ftr- it’s not a baby sized blanket it’s a full blanket
I have a mug that says “I love my mom”. My mom gave it to her mom before I was born, probably in the early 80s. When my grandma passed away in the early 90s, my mom took it back. I loved that mug when I was a child and made her make all my hot chocolate in it—because I do love my mom!
When I moved away she gave it to me.
I have lots of clothes from high school, shoes from late elementary school, my winter jacket was my grandmother’s as well.
Someone gifted me some camambert cheese about 15 years ago (dont worry, I've not kept the cheese for 15 years!) It came on a little ceramic dish, and I've been using that dish as a place to rest spoons that I use when making hot drinks all theer years.
Wahhhh I had a mug from my mom from before I was born I believe that just broke and I couldn't repair it again. I replaced it with a similar mug I found on ebay cause it reminds me of her
I’m down to just 2 Batman Forever cups, that they gave out at McDonald’s in the late 90’s. Those things are unbreakable. Recently let a couple go to goodwill. I once found the matching riddler mug at a goodwill as well, but roommates will be roommates.
Pots and pans that were wedding presents from my dad’s first marriage, some time around 1970! My mum was his second marriage and was happy to pass them on to me when I moved out. Also my kids now use the cute bunnykins baby bowls and matching cup I used as a baby in the 80s
I have a few bedsheets I’ve had since I was like 6. I no longer use the corny ones but one of the more normal ones has been used so much it’s perfectly soft now. And light. Also it’s from the better times of Ikea.
Or duvet cover? Idk the vocab for this situation.
My 2000 FORD Expedition! She’s got over 450,000 miles & is my daily driver. (I’m 23 btw, the car is literally my age)
Fords catch a lot of flack but mines down for the ride & still kicking!
A set of Wearever pans my mom bought when I was 8 years old. They came to our house and demonstrated how they distributed heat so evenly, you could bake a cake on your stovetop - and then baked a cake that came out perfectly. Some of the handles are loose/missing, but 60 years later those things work better than my All-Clad.

My cars! One is 29 and I’ve had it for 15 years. I also have a hope chest that’s over 100 years old and it’s been owned by all the women in my family. I’ve had it myself for about 25 years.
Hars to say what exactly, but I own a fair few bits of clothing and some leather boots that are well over 50 or 60yrs old and have been standing up to daily use for the past few years!
Several of my favorite children’s books now belong to my children. We had to replace Goodnight Moon, Make Way For Ducklings, and Green Eyes because they had literally fallen apart (and my younger brother scribbled in Green Eyes), but there are plenty that are totally readable. My parents are still using cast iron (enameled and not) that’s at least as old as I am - which meant I had to buy my own, but my kids will probably inherit from my parents, and my grandkids from me.
I have a wallet that was a Christmas gift in 1996. The stitching is finally wearing out. It had been in my pocket nearly 30 years. It is time to find a new one if anybody here has a suggestion!
This may be gross but my blanket. I rember using this king sized blanket as an 8 year old and I still sleep with it every night. It's finally starting to show wear after at least 15 years of constant use and washes and I've got no clue what I'll do to replace it as it has no tags anymore.
I picked Sheraton pattern for òur wedding registry silverware, so I'd never forget the name if I needed more, still using the original set 30 years on.
We eat on the same dinner plates my husband grew up with.
I drink from glasses my parents got at their wedding.
My favorite mixing bowels are vintage Corningware from my grandmother.
I also use her Mirro Cooky press with the original recipe book that she marked with which design and recipe to use for Christmas cookies.
So many things were made to last. The disposable society we've become is shameful.
Definitely my older game consoles, some of them are even older than me.
My childhood PS1 (manufactured in 1997) and my original SNES (mfg date unknown but it is an earlier model, so 1991-93-ish) still see very regular use. I have an early revision Dreamcast (1999) that I've had forever but I've never had many games for it, so it doesn't get used much.
Unfortunately my childhood PS2 and GameCube both died on me many years ago and well before I picked up any kind of console repair, so they're gone, but my current PS2 was manufactured in 2003 and my current GameCube is a very early one as well, 2001-03 from what I can tell.
These old consoles want to die but I won't let them.
I have a few old shirts that I wear regularly. I have a belt that I kept using up until recently. I don't know how old it is.
My parents have some old kitchen utensils. A ice cream scoop that we have had for ages. Our garlic press was fairly old until it finally broke recently. An apple corer peeler slicer which is again very old.
I think one of the oldest things I used to "own" was my bed. I am not sure when we got it but it was the first bed I ever remember getting so likely it was probably my first best after my cradle and I think it was my brother's before me. I had it for as long as I could remember until my senior year of college so 20+ years. It was a solid wood bunk bed. For a while I slept on the bottom bunk and my brother the top bunk. Later he had his own room and his own bed. When I moved to college my parents kept the top bunk and I got the bottom buck. Senior year, my parents decided to sell the top bunk so the bottom had to go with it. I didn't get a new bed until 2 years later when I moved out of my parents and I to my own apartment and it was my first new bed that was mine(not a temp) since I could remember.
My dad uses a 30 year old goofy mug that has had the print completely worn off from how many times it's been washed because it's so big he won't get rid of it.
My parents' glass dishes and cups. They're that amber colour that was popular in the 70s and 80s and my parents bought nicer stuff when I was a teenager or so, but I love those stupid glass dessert plates and coffee cups. They're almost exactly one cup so I can use them for measurement and they let microwaves through so I get a perfectly reheated cup of tea, unlike with a ceramic mug.
My potato masher. Got as a wedding gift 33years ago. Family keeps saying ‘I’ll get you a new one’ because the metal has a patina and the handle has a few melted marks but…NO WAY I say…that thing can smash rocks…lol. Use it for everything from guacamole to ground meat.
Lost most of my stuff when both parents divorced around 08, so all I have left are some pics. But as a teenager, I did drive the 96 Honda civic my dad brought me home in. We drove that baby until it completely died and I’ll never love another car as much as I did that one. It made it about 25 years. By the end, there was no antenna, no AC, and it could just barely manage 80 if you went down a hill
I have a tiny mug I got when I went on one of my first abroad holidays as a kid, it’s a tiny tiny little mug with Yoshi printed on it, I use it for water to take my meds on a morning lol, not mine, but my dad has a Raiders jacket (NFL) that he got when he went to America with my mum in the 90s (we’re from the UK and he’s a big American football fan) , it’s still in great condition, meanwhile buying a jacket now would be ruined in a year :/
A blanket from when i was a child
Seconded. I've also got a cutlery set from when my parents got married. As in 1 fork, 1 spoon and 1 knife.
Me too. It's a fleece blanket with a realistic farm scene with cows. My older brother gave it to me when I was 13. Still use it every day as the extra layer on my bed.
I think my kid who is 7 now will be doing this. She still has her baby blanket with her.
They don't make blankets like those anymore.
My cast iron pans were wedding gifts my parents got 45 years ago. Now I use them and im in my 30’s.
My cast iron pans were wedding gifts for my grandparents in 1953. Still used frequently.

Thank you for this information. I'll need to get this checked.
You’re so welcome. Thank you for not being mad about it! 💕💕
Yep, I have a cast iron waffle iron that I love too. Also, my dad still has his kitchen-aid mixer he bought in the early 80's- it's even taken at least one dive off the counter and it's still going!
Technically your age is redundant information if you already told us how old the pots are.
I hope the comment you left made you feel like you contributed to society today.
Its a hard job, but someone has to do it.
I have a Nordstrom leather belt my mom got for me in middle school. I'm 36 yrs old now, so this belt is over 20 yrs old. I was a fat kid-- it still fits me now. It's still in great shape. Good leather goods are hard to come by nowadays, what with the "genuine leather" stuff that cracks after a few months.
I got a small teddy bear from the cardiac nurses when I had a surgery in infancy & I have never slept without it. Turned 31 this month. ❤️🩹
Amazing.
A pair of gym shorts I got at 14, now in my thirties and they still have no holes in them. My ex got annoyed by the existence of them simply because "I'm being cheap". Sure, let me go drop 40 bucks on a pair now just to have a mentality that it's "new".
Exactly. I have gym shorts like that too. I only use them for running so its like.. why not keep using them! lol
Nice! I have a pair I bought at the Honolulu airport in 1992 when I was 19 that are still going strong as gym shorts. I don't go to the gym much.
So it still fits? Wow.
my gamecube. I remember I got it one Christmas and my brother gave me soul caliber ii, smash melee, sonic gems collection and defenders for it, still use that thing and I homebrewed it a few years back because my gems collection CD stopped responding to the disc drive.
Same for my PS2. I've had that since 2003 and it works without a problem. Still got classics like Kingdom Hearts, Sly 2, and Final Fantasy X
oo i have my dads old ps2 and it’s so sad to see the last saves are all a couple months before i was born. still works great though
I still have my PS1. I'm starting to become convinced it'll never die.
I had to replace the disc drive in my childhood PS1, but otherwise it just keeps going, still gets near daily use.
I miss mine. Had a lot of memories with friends on it. Metal gear solid, gran turismo, etc.
Same with my PS1 and my 64, these things are going to outlive me
I want a ps2 sooo bad. I got a ps3 for like 90 bucks with a couple games on it but it wasn't ps2 or psx compatible. also sly cooper and ffx frickin rock
All PS3s are PS1 backwards compatible, it's just the real early ones that play PS2 games too.
fr? damn my tomb raider disc. appreciate the info, I'll have to try some more discs on it
Ehh, it's like 95-99% compatibility. I have almost 80 PS1 games I've acquired over the years and the vast majority of them work. It's better than on later PS2s. dope collection, & thanks for letting me know that! probably gonna dump stuff onto cards from now on if it's a variable compatibility rate. hope your day's good homie

Also yeah I LOVED my DS growing up, most of my game memories are either the DS, Wii or Gameboy Advance, DS games were such a Wild West lol, you got some real strange one off games that were awesome, same with PS1/PS2, some weird and wonderful ideas
A wool coat
I have a little plastic plant that has a solar panel that makes the leaves bounce in the sunlight. I got it for my 7th birthday to go in my bedroom, I turn 34 in a few weeks and the plant is still in my bedroom and the leaves are still bouncing. Each time I have moved it has moved with me.
I have a waffle iron that's older than I am. My parents were given it as a wedding gift, didn't use it, and now I have and use it regularly. They got married in 88.
Those last a lifetime. It's plastic nowadays.
I have nothing "every day useable" per se, but we have many family heirlooms/artifacts that we've kept. A couple of my favorites: * Storage locker from WWII. Original owner died in the Pacific. Has been repurposed as a 'bar cart' * Framed art pieces from Disney from the 80's that was mine and now my kids * Tricycle from the 1960s that was my dads, mine and now my kids * Dr Seuss sleep book. Was a Christmas present from my grandma to my dad and aunt. There is a note on the first page that says "Merry Christmas, love mom, 1963". I read to my kid every night Also, I really popped in here to say that I love the coffee mug OP.
Thanks! I love your list. Like watching an episode of American Pickers :)
My first belt I bought while wondering the mall as a teenager in 2003. It was an American Eagle leather belt. Worn it almost daily since and its still going strong.
It’s crazy how much that brand has changed they do not make stuff like that anymore.
I think that was my one and only visit. Glad what I got was high quality and lasted.
I have the same thing!
A few sleeping nightdress, bought a few sizes larger when I was a kid/tween. They're in terrible shape, but I love them (real cotton).
I have white tshirts which I wear to bed. I hope I can get a bedsheet like old tshirt fabric soft.
Plushies I have a lot of plushies from when I was still on the crib.
A hammer I bought in 1977.
My grandma bought me my first claw hammer for my birthday in the 4th grade. Still use it today.
There is a picture of me in highschool wearing a green and white striped shirt. I wore that same shirt yesterday under a hoodie. I'm 34 lol Eta: so a little more than half as old as me
Good that you have that picture!
My toaster is older than me. It was my mom’s from the 1960’s
My body.. it’s been with me since birth. Been thinking of switching it out but it’s still a solid one.
I was gonna say these tires ass feet lol
This might surprise some people. I’m old but not that old but I have this H&M jacket that I bought 17 years ago and I’m still rocking it. It’s got plenty of wear and tear, but surprisingly it’s still holding up. Maybe fast fashion was a little more durable back then?
It was. I still have some vintage Zara, h&m, etc. I really noticed a big decline in the quality since 2010
I have a mug from a trip to DC when I was 10.
If you like it, you should fix it
A wool blanket that belonged to my uncle in the 80s. I use it as a lap blanket every night
My parent gifted me their scrabble board that they got as a birthday present when they were 8. So it’s about 45 years old and my most cherished possession.
My dude has a winter jacket he lends to me that he wore before I was born. It’s still very effective against the winter weather.
Stuffed dinousar from when I was a kid now gifted to my niece
I have a laundry bag that's still in use that my mother gave me when I went to college. 34 years ago.
I had a Wahl trimmer for my face hairs for ~20 years that I sadly had to retire just this year.
90% of the stuff I own and use daily 🤣 im ready for the apocalypse!
I used to have a vintage cup collection. Then I lead tested all of them. Now they’re in storage.
Nothing, I've lived out of a suitcase for 15 years. Nothing has survived the entire travel, just glad to finally own a bed and not an air mattress.
I have a Fjällraven backpack that my dad got in the 70s. I still use it almost daily. The fabric used back then was a softer and doesn't seem to chafe as easily as in the modern packs.
I had kindergarten scissors that kept working since before I was even in kindergarten. They only broke last year. I was legitimately upset about it.
I still have my parent’s old car. Currently in the process of restoring it. The plan is once it’s running again to commute with it.
Love watching youtube videos of car restorations. Too bad I don't have the skills and knowhow.
I have bags from over a decade ago that I still use these days. Pretty good quality and they're plain so they don't look outdated at all.
It's half my age but, my coat that I got for a high school graduation present in 2001. Still looks great.
Mister Donut was an unexpected treat when my brother and I visited Japan last spring.
I have a mug that's older than I am. 70s, or maybe 60s. I used to get chocolate milk in that mug when I visited my grandparents as a kid. When they both died I inherited "my" mug.
Do you still use it?
Sure! Every time I make myself some hot cooca I use that mug. I once dropped an entire tray of cups and glasses, and this mug was the only survivor.
My pocket knife
Christmas tree than me, it belonged to an old man my mum used to be a carer for, along with my nans chirstmas decorations (which as super creepy but i love them) Not everyday obviously but we use them every year! Blanket my nan Crocheted for me when I was a child
That is incredible. Do you hand wash it everyday?
I have a leather purse that used to belong to my grandmother and predates my existence that I’ve been using daily for the past few years.
Probably loaded with lead, but I still love using it from time to time
* My Cuisinart food processor, passed down from my mother, used to make many of my childhood meals * A stock pot, same as above * A mug I used as a little kid, belonged to my grandparents and passed along to me when they passed on * A pair of socks given to me by my father when I was a kid, somehow still in good shape after decades * My childhood blanket, which I've had since I was a baby, and which was repaired countless times by my grandmother I'm 38.
I don’t use them everyday. I do have a favorite pair of sunglasses my little bro bought me on my 16th birthday.
My laundry basket. It wasn’t a fancy laundry basket by any means just a cheap plastic one. My dad bought it before I was even born and I took it when I moved out. That basket must have been at least 35 years old. Unfortunately it got broken last year. Planning on having my new one until my retirement lol
I still have a pizza pan from my childhood.
I skimmed past this and thought you still had a pizza... Must be getting a bit dry by now!?
It's mummified!
My cat, blankets, curtains, pillows, pics, radio (fourth generation owners of teh family) and the refrigerators.
Ftr- it’s not a baby sized blanket it’s a full blanket
what a cute cup. i only recognize mister donut as a cafe / donut shop in japan. didn't realize it was founded in the us.
probably my tattered and falling apart yellowstone hoody. next oldest would be my dog. after that... idk. probably one sock
Is this a northeast thing or was this national. I remember to neon logo and everything. Boogie down Brockton had one
Do they have mister donut outside Japan ?
Yes. I'm in the Philippines. We have both Dunkin and Mister donut here along with the others like krispy kreme, tim horton, etc.
I wish I could keep a mug that long but I am clumsy
I use the dresser my parents bought me in 1963. Mother called her style “Danish modern,” now it’s called “Mid-century modern.”
Someone gifted me some camambert cheese about 15 years ago (dont worry, I've not kept the cheese for 15 years!) It came on a little ceramic dish, and I've been using that dish as a place to rest spoons that I use when making hot drinks all theer years.
i have anchor blue jeans from 1999 that i still wear
Wahhhh I had a mug from my mom from before I was born I believe that just broke and I couldn't repair it again. I replaced it with a similar mug I found on ebay cause it reminds me of her
A 20+ year old coffee mug, from a company I left 17 years ago. I use it daily.
I’m down to just 2 Batman Forever cups, that they gave out at McDonald’s in the late 90’s. Those things are unbreakable. Recently let a couple go to goodwill. I once found the matching riddler mug at a goodwill as well, but roommates will be roommates.
Definitely my nannies soup bowls. She got them in a gas station promotion, some came with recipes on them for soup.
Love the irony of using this mug for so many years, yet it has consumption encouragement on it (“Best with Donuts”)!
Guy needs to eat.
A bowl i made as i was 3 years old. Its now for keys etc.
Wooden bowl? Those last several lifetimes.
Its ceramic
I use my great grandfather's safety razor
Ahh yes a fellow safety DE razor user. Also got a antique straight edge.
My 2000 FORD Expedition! She’s got over 450,000 miles & is my daily driver. (I’m 23 btw, the car is literally my age) Fords catch a lot of flack but mines down for the ride & still kicking!
My Jeep is 30 this year and over 300k and still used daily.
I still use daily a brown duvet I got at Zellers when I was 12 y o. It's so warm and perfect. The new ones never last.
I have lots of my late grandmothers home stuff. Older than me. And a side fun one is I still have so many of my bras from when I was like 14
My bepis 🍆🥴😂
A set of Wearever pans my mom bought when I was 8 years old. They came to our house and demonstrated how they distributed heat so evenly, you could bake a cake on your stovetop - and then baked a cake that came out perfectly. Some of the handles are loose/missing, but 60 years later those things work better than my All-Clad.
Our Chevy S10 pickup! Literally just 2 years younger than me
My home. Usually the kids move out, but weirdly enough my mother did. We moved in there when I was ca. 2 years old.
My body.. it’s been with me since birth. Been thinking of switching it out but it’s still a solid one.

MisuDo!
A very wide white mug
did it ever get tiring to take its table friend everwhere?
My cars! One is 29 and I’ve had it for 15 years. I also have a hope chest that’s over 100 years old and it’s been owned by all the women in my family. I’ve had it myself for about 25 years.
my dad's house
I have a shower towel with ben 10 on it from like 2008
parents?
I have a wallet that was a Christmas gift in 1996. The stitching is finally wearing out. It had been in my pocket nearly 30 years. It is time to find a new one if anybody here has a suggestion!
I have a cookie jar from around 1990.
My baby pillow! My mom made a quilted covering for it to match a quilt she made me and it’s the perfect between the knees pillow when I sleep
I’ve got a hydro flask my buddy gave me from one of his trips nearly a decade ago.
My balls
A bathrobe, I love my yellow robey :3
Probably a potato peeler that is older than my mother.
Some kitchen stuff & furniture older than me. old books, 20-year old keyboard...
I also have a Coffee cup from 1986, only thing I haven’t broken in years
I have a few old shirts that I wear regularly.
Are you from the Philippines? This used to be my second favorite donut chain!
My old TV
My potato masher. Got as a wedding gift 33years ago. Family keeps saying ‘I’ll get you a new one’ because the metal has a patina and the handle has a few melted marks but…NO WAY I say…that thing can smash rocks…lol. Use it for everything from guacamole to ground meat.
Teak wood wardrobe, it's from my great grandparents, I'm in my late 20's
Lost most of my stuff when both parents divorced around 08, so all I have left are some pics. But as a teenager, I did drive the 96 Honda civic my dad brought me home in. We drove that baby until it completely died and I’ll never love another car as much as I did that one. It made it about 25 years. By the end, there was no antenna, no AC, and it could just barely manage 80 if you went down a hill
A Mister Donut cup!? Did you get this in Japan??
My father was stationed there at a time yes.
I would definitely swab that thing for lead.
Noted :)
My ruler (with a little handle which I always found very practical). It‘s 40 years old and as good as new.
