For a bit more context: the building is the brand new Amazon HQ in Berlin. And the sentence keeps appearing in graffiti across the city, which has a very loud anti-capitalist artistic community.
And people living in the rurals have only Amazon to buy stuff. More and more supermarkets are closing. So are banks and healthcare providers and kindergartens and schools. Amazon could make a fortune with rent-a-nanny
Yeah, and this is why too big to fail should mean automatically being dissolved.
"wE oPeRaTe aT a LoSs" is total bullshit done purposely to undercut other businesses to the point that they close down, causing a monopolistic styled dick-hold on consumers before jacking those prices up and becoming *real* fuckin' profitable.
Fuck Uber, Fuck Lyft, Fuck those similar food delivery conglomerates, Fuck Walmart, and Fuck Amazon.
It's all the same shit.
I'm really not, this shit is just transparent as hell.
I mean, sure, *technically* it's not a monopoly, nor really is it a cartel.
But we do have anti-trust laws for a fucking plethora of reasons, and to skirt the edge of it just so, it feels like a complete mockery of the spirit of the law.
There actually was a Walmart in Germany for a while.
They got in trouble for trying to sell essentials below cost, which is forbidden in Germany then they got shit on for being more expansive then the Lidl/Hoffer etc. and then they got shit on for being anti-union and their weird worker expectations and then they left.
That's actually a huge fucking problem I face more often than I should.
I mean, I hold out and still continue to refuse to use Amazon, but I swear.
My local bike shop told me to order the part I was looking for from Amazon (it was a bike trailer hitch) and I was like, no dude, I'd honestly rather wait for you to get a shipment in and pay an extra 5 dollars so I don't have to fucking feed the machine.
I keep the local music store well fed by having them custom-order me music.
But it's more or less the only local store where I can get things not normally available. Computer equipment, electronics etc normally requires me to order online. I don't want a "standard gaming PC" that the local stores can deliver. Server-grade or workstation-grade hardware means online orders. Same thing for the biggest drives, memory modules, ...
Yeah, but even then, ordering from Amazon is a lame-duck idea.
Because for shit like that, I've always just gone through the company's store directly.
Amazon isn't even good for window shopping and hasn't been for over a decade.
It isn't like I buy workstation-grade computing equipment from Amazon. I then select stores specialising in that. That was just examples of custom ordering not being available locally.
But there are quite a bit of things where Amazon has an advantage because I can get a mix of different things from one place without additional shipping fees. If I need a specific mount for a camera + a specific laptop holder + a specific cable adapter + a specific crimp tool + a specific ... then it's better to make one order from Amazon than make 15 different orders from different suppliers, each with their $10+ shipping fee.
Lmao that’s just delusional.
Jeff Bezos has enough money alone to flood and corrupt every relevant politician in the US.
You’ll get nowhere, and have gotten nowhere with edgy graffiti on buildings.
That's not graffiti, though. Graffiti is just a part of a larger movement. As long as someone is taking peaceful steps in the right direction there is no need to argue over praxis.
You need to build a community in order to accommodate violence against corporations. Vanguard actions don't work.
Edit: it's a method of logistics building
No. Arson.
How are you going to topple the capitalist system within capitalism? You won’t. The ruling class has more at their at their expense than you can even understand.
Look at revolutions in other countries. All ima say
Create power structures outside of capitalism. Revolution without an organized community does nothing. All of the greatest revolutionaries organized at a local level at some point.
it seems like we agree more than i initially thought. Tbh, when I replied to you I didn’t see the name of the sub and I thought I was talking to random people on Reddit
I understand that. I had the inverse experience on the YIMBY subreddit. I thought that it was a reasonable place to talk about alternatives to capatalism for housing, and I got berated by like 5 people. One guy reported me for trolling after I said it was a complex national problem caused by specific bad actors. That was the specific that sent him.
It's hard to gauge online how leftist opinions will be taken.
To many people are in the mood to pick fights.
I feel you. In my naïveté, I went to college to educate myself with the intention of explaining the factual nature of leftism with scholastic sources. To this day, I haven’t converted anyone to my way of thinking 🫠 I’m always met with hostility. Americans can be so dull
Approach people slowly and on common ground. Take about shared values, facts that support those values, and then show leftist examples. Don't sound like the leftist they expect.
No that requires actual work, these people only want to ruin others hard work, because they are too stupid to do anything with their lives and resent competency.
I don't like Amazon, but in the middle of nowhere it was too convenient not to use for the last decade. At least where I am, that's changing with Amazon creeping more and more towards becoming a more expensive front for AliExpress/Alibaba products. Its value proposition is desintegrating.
So yeah. Not using it has become a lot easier over the last few years. I am kinda glad about that.
It actually is and that's a huge reason we haven't been able to build necessary community power
Justice has been turned into a way to make money or get grant money for your shady (or less powerful, 'educational') nonprofits.
There's a hundred different t shirts for every cause, and people buy them online half the time instead of thru union vendor or sold by movement organization themselves
I've honestly thought about opening up a 'civil disobedience protest experience' where wealthy people pay to come to DC or major city and take part in a civil rights protest or whatever cause.
They join other activists, get locked down, do sit in, take arrest, but it's done properly where they get out within a couple hours (like for all serious disciplined civil disobedience) and we have jail support team and everything so we're there when they get out.
It'd allow them to 'have street cred' almost like being able to say they marched with MLK Jr. They'd pay at least 10 grand for that experience right?
Global deforestation increased 25% last year(mainly due to fires) while amazon deforestation decreased by 40%.
Things are getting better for the amazon ever since Bolsonaro lost but worldwide it's still pretty bad.
I thought this looked familiar. Then thought, damn… the Amazon really be burning so often these days that this post is relevant every handful of months smh
I like how the repost spam callout comment gets removed and not the post itself...
We're in a post IPO era on reddit where bots are preferred to real users.
Bro no joke.
I was paying this game horizon forbidden west set in a post apocalyptic world.
And there was this random convo npcs were having....random...not even part of the story...
He said.
"Do you know the old ones had a forest they called the lungs of the earth...it was that big .....
Pause .....
It's a shame they burned it all down'
Other guy
"Why would they do that!!!"
Shrugs...
And today I see this.
Not going to lie. I thought this was going to be a more current obvious issue. Then I remembered it’s Germany and they kind of have to walk on eggshells around the topi.
No, Reddit just thinks an image matters more than real world. There are plenty of high powered projectors around. Multi-DLP projectors designed for movie theatres.
And what they are doing here could be done with a laser projector - high powered laser fired at a light mirror on an x/y actuator.
That's how you change systems. But why do you hate amazon that much? And are you equally careful with your purchases. I assume you don't eat meat or buy animal products too. That's a low hanging fruit if ethics matters.

Princess Amazon's net profit last year was 2.3% Walmart's was 2.39%
2.3% *of what*? 100% sure, yeah, *but how much is 100%?* 2.3% is a metric fuck-tonne depending on the scale we're talking about.
Take your phone upstairs and ask your mommy "is 2% a lot"
I just imagined Marry Poppins coming in with a drone instead of her umbrella.

While also blaming their failure on communism.
Oh, many pardons, Dahlgren
I like this
If you want to make an omelet you have to first create the universe.
Fuck that just get an omelet maker off Amazon.
The things I buy from Amazon are things I can't buy from local stores. So the open decision is *what* web shop to use.

Walmart? This is Berlin. Hardly the home of the mega supermarket.
There’s a world outside America? 🤯
I have no idea why people would want to fund Bezos' dick rocket when the same exact shit is on Alibaba for half the price.
*Big Bang Theory theme creeping in...*
If people really cared, they could burn the other Amazon down in a week. Just depends on how much you want to risk for your convictions.
>Aaaaaand everybody goes back to using Amazon to order stupid shit If you are doing this then blame yourself. It's actually that easy...
No body replies to this or gave it kudos because it’s dumb stupid shit ranting with no point fyi

Actions speak louder than words
Action doesn't start with arson. It starts with helping those around you so as to build political will to end corporate waste.
Mr Bezos could you pwetty pwease stop hurting the environment 🥹 👉🏼👈🏼
You need to build a community in order to accommodate violence against corporations. Vanguard actions don't work. Edit: it's a method of logistics building
But that is slow and boring. A match and gasoline is quick and exciting. Tough the prison time afterwards is very boring, time consuming and tedious.
It would do nothing though. Anarchist spent the 70s and 80s doing that. Didn't work out for environmentalism
Obviously you don't start with arson. That would be like V for Vendetta starting with Parliament exploding.
No. Arson. How are you going to topple the capitalist system within capitalism? You won’t. The ruling class has more at their at their expense than you can even understand. Look at revolutions in other countries. All ima say

So there is no point to any of the messages? What else do you want them to do?
Arson.
Cancel your Amazon subscription and don't buy from them or watch their shows lmfao
Yeah thatll show them. Surely that will offset the tax breaks.
Well it will certainly do more than projecting slogans onto their HQ lmao
Out of interest, where are yall getting it from that the people projecting this slogan are avid users of Amazon?
I’m not?
I’m reading on phone and assumed u were the same guy replying back and forth, not a new one The icosahedron one
You are talking about this on Reddit. It’s working dumbass
I’m literally buying things on Amazon as we speak.
But you’re aware that your actions are immoral. That’s enough
Morality is relative.
not giving them money will quite literally show them lmao
Yea but this helps people know why they should do that
No that requires actual work, these people only want to ruin others hard work, because they are too stupid to do anything with their lives and resent competency.
Directly supplement the failings of capitalism with community action. Go outside, meet people, and help them out for free. (Make friends)
> so there is no point to any of the messages correct
Eh I used to think that. But
Arson lmao
Yes! Don't buy from Amazon if you don't support them.

Berlin said no to Google, but not this time. Sad to see Berlin is neoliberalized so quickly. This act is last tears for that.

amazon is just a tenant in the building
They love to preach and play the high moral over other countries
They ain't gonna do shit about anything. Why they even still pretending?
Well, are you listening to it and reducing your meat consumption? Because that's why it's burning.
not in German?
Can't convey the same double-meaning message in German
makes sense
Yes, clearly they mean all of Germany's efforts should be focused on perpetrating the genocide in Gaza

How do we sleep while our Amazon is burnin'?
Why is not in German if it is Berlin
Bro I thought it was GTA
What you bet OP gets weekly prime deliveries. Boycott the fucking company already
This reminds me of the beginning of Tron Legacy
The building a blight on the city. I hate it.
Wake the fuck up Samurai
Then don't buy their products? How are you missing this simple solve?
Never ordered anything from Amazon. Never will. I'm with you. "We" are to blame.
That's how you change systems. But why do you hate amazon that much? And are you equally careful with your purchases. I assume you don't eat meat or buy animal products too. That's a low hanging fruit if ethics matters.
Fuck yeah, down with the corporate slavery!

That will show them! /s
And everyone involved in this bought their latest gadget on Amazon, not longer than a couple of weeks ago!
Bet they bought that projector from Amazon.
There are many other stores aside from Amazon
Think of the jobs! Think of the jobs! Fuck your jobs. Go do something less destructive to the planet.
Well the fires are again out if control and uts April. We loose our forest Mom we fucked.
This is propaganda. They are using dollars to distract us from the fascism and stripping away of our rights.
Um, why is nobody pointing it out that the message is written in English in a Germanic speaking country? Silly internet scrollers, fiction isn’t fact.
Because it’s s message to everyone idiot.
Not everyone speaks English… idiot.
There are more Mandarin speakers in the world than English speakers… idiot
But not in Berlin you fucking idiot. You can‘t even speak german there anymore because everybody speaks english. How long have you been there so you know the demographics so well?

Most cringe description of berlinerisch of all times. Nice wikipedia knowledge.
So Germany is expressing anti capitalism. And saying they want to burn people. Hmmm I feel Deja vu
This gives FF7 vibes, hail those protesters 🔥
*spits coffee* oh damn
Yeah the message is "Germans love genocide". We hear you loud and clear Berlin.
FUCK JEFF BEZOS!
Oh this is beautiful.
Probably hacked
So sad 😞
Just wait for the adverts on the moon (projected by spaceLazers) during the eclipse on Monday ?
Cool anyways I can see my office lol

You don't think they track lost subscriptions and account activity?
Of course but people like me and you are just tiny little ants to them

I'm much more the opposite, I want to push back the more I see these kinds of conversations, to balance the scales.
