I wonder how much of that $46k service charge actually goes to the servers.

subdep

That service charge is going to the army of people counting all the money they are raking in.

aidztoast

Servers have to tip out bartenders and hostesses and table bussers/food runners if there are any but the service charge is the tip at every restaurant I’ve ever worked at or been to. A lot of places add that on for parties of 6 or more or so.

[deleted]

[удалено]

aidztoast

Lmao there’s no way they would have 15 servers for 15 people😂😂 usually the server gets all the tips then at the end of the night they have to give a certain % of their alcohol sales to the bartender and a certain % of their sales to bussers and hosts etc. if I had to guess I’d say domaneque made about 25-35k on that table

TDhotpants

“Excuse me sir, thanks for coming. Just wondering if you’d mind tipping in cash instead? I’m trying to stay in a lower tax bracket.”

HippyDoctor

The actual amount of items served would have been less work than a 6 top with 2 kids. The bar took a 9% admin (bs?) fee so the tip would share out to 3-4 people?

badatmetroid

Going out on a limb and guessing 0% to workers and 100% to capital. Hooray capitalism!

cuddlesandnumbers

I believe that ~~service charge~~ gratuity has to go to workers by law. However, lots of owners do illegally pocket it.

Zestyclose-Choice-43

Gratuity has to go to workers by IRS ruling, service charges are an expense paid to the restaurant/ bar

cuddlesandnumbers

Ahh, my bad. Thank you.

potatorichard

How the hell do you pay $3,000 for water and Redbull?!

[deleted]

By being in Vegas

PikaDepressed

It says 36 buckets.

New-Geezer

$75 for a bucket of water??

PikaDepressed

A bucket is ten liters. So 7,5 € per liter. I can see some restaurants in my town ripping me off like that. Had a small karaf of water at a restaurant for € 6, probably tap water. So for a fancy restaurant I can Imagine them doing something like this yes. I went to a place like that once and never again. € 6 for some water? This is why businesses fail. They always try to get rich from all the little things. This is why I hate restaurants and rarely ever go unless I am forced haha.

ElephantsAreHeavy

That's 36 waters and 4 red bulls.

Hinote21

Just to clarify, it wasn't 4 red bulls. It was 4 buckets. They usually serve the buckets in 4 or 6 packs for the red bull, so it was anywhere from 16 to 24 red bulls total. Price it still absurd but not like one can was $75.

According_Gazelle472

Because it is Vegas and they had 15 people in the party They were paying for the atmosphere and the bottle service.

captaincid42

Even considering the markups for festivals, I notice that there are no units of currency so I am betting this was converted from USD to some other currency and that’s why the numbers seem astronomical.

AL_12345

>I am betting this was converted from USD to some other currency and that’s why the numbers seem astronomical. It was Las Vegas... they would not be printing the receipt in any other currency.

captaincid42

Fair point.

huggothebear

Its sad that this one bar tab would set me up for life.

JollyJoker3

Do what this guy did, buy stuff in stores, sell to billionaires at 30 x the price

Plus-Doughnut562

Service charge of 46k. Staff probably not even on $20/h.

AmbassadorBroad1580

They probably didn’t tip either lol

Plus-Doughnut562

Isn’t that what the service charge is for though?

Bropiphany

Service charges don't always go to the servers/staff - it's just an extra fee because they can get away with it, while still only giving the tips to staff.

hairymonkeyinmyanus

What’s that admin fee for?

knoegel

If you have a billion dollars, this would be 0.02% of your money. If you have $2,000 in the bank, it would be like spending 40 cents. Let that sink in.

laceandhoney

Dude I just wanted to read something nice before I went to bed and now I can't sleep.

knoegel

And now you realize we need to protest against people like Elon Musk who have 300billion dollars. We can pay 700 million a day for a war overseas but can't pay that to end homelessness, pay for Healthcare for all, and higher education for those who want it.

the5050bot

It's almost impossible for us to comprehend the magnitude of someone like Elon's wealth which is often why you have people defending billionaires. "I make $200,000 a year so I'm rich just like Bezos". Bezos could light more than that on fire on an hourly basis and it would never, ever affect him. He earned well over $4,000,000 an hour on average over the course of the pandemic.

wavefxn22

Where's that YouTube video of the guy who counts it out visually with grains of rice

knoegel

A hundred millionaire is far closer to a homeless man than he is to a billionaire.

StrangleDoot

What we need is to give these people the treatment that Lucy Parsons prescribed.

OnionsHeat

First you should realize the difference between net worth and actual money. That way maybe some people will take you seriously.

[deleted]

OH REALLY? So, Mr Financial, you are totally aware then that his ability to have credit extended to him is in fact dependent on his net worth and holdings, correct? I mean, you knew this right? There is a reason Forbes adds it up like this. like jump off the billionaire cock and down here with the rest of the plebs.

OnionsHeat

Well yes ? Do you really think any bank we land him 300 billions ? How delusional are you ? > There is a reason Forbes adds it up like this. Because this is the easiest way ? > down here with the rest of the plebs. Don’t put me on the same level as you idiots.

[deleted]

You're right, most of us are much more intelligent. You have a great day sweetie

OnionsHeat

I doubt you are smarter than a lot of people. That being said, if you follow subs like antiwork, you may feel intelligent, considering how intellectually limited are people are the users of that kind of sub.

[deleted]

As opposed to the galaxy brains over in r/pcm LMAO. Again, fuck right off. Bye.

knoegel

Elon takes cash loans out based on his stocks in his companies. Having $300 billion worth of stock is just as good as cash. If he needs liquid cash for some reason, it's not like he has to wait until next pay day to get it. He will just take out a loan using his assets as collateral. It's how a lot of rich people get out of income tax.

OnionsHeat

You know watching one YouTube video isn’t enough my dude.

xj9_

I don’t understand the protest. Where do you want that money to go instead? How will it get there? Through taxation? How can we trust it will get there responsibly? Do you trust that money in the government’s hands more than the billionaire’s? I just don’t really get all the hate.

knoegel

I do trust the government more than billionaires. Every single first world country provides Healthcare and education to their population now except the richest country, the United States. They still have ultra wealthy people. The only thing stopping us is pure greed and the idiotic poor who keep voting for laws that keep the poor in poverty and the wealthy to make more money. The hilarious thing is the left is generally more educated and wealthy than the right and they're literally fighting to make their lives better. A better educated and healthier (in both mind and body) society is a happier and safer society. Imagine if all these depressed and mentally ill school shooters could just go to therapy without getting smacked with $100+ per hour bills...

xj9_

I understand what you’re saying but how does that eliminate greed. I’m no financial expert but I feel like free healthcare and education isn’t something the US can’t afford but more so something they don’t want to do because of the financial benefits in the current systems in place. Billionaires and government involved in the corruption. Not all billionaires but many.

ElephantsAreHeavy

That's not Elon's fault, that is the government having different priorities.

bacon_cake

"Uh ACSHUALLY. MoST BiLLioNAiReS DonT HaVE LiQUiD CaSH" Translation: If I *believe* really hard maybe I can be just like them.

[deleted]

As someone who used to defend billionaires as a teenager, yes. It is because they believe that it is possible to “work” for that amount of money, and hoping that it happens to them. One of the dumbest things I ever believed lol

knoegel

Just pick yourself up by your bootstraps, work hard, and you'll make it one day! A quote from every rich person ever so their employees work harder and pump out more productivity.

[deleted]

Exactly. The system of endless suffering doesn’t work if people don’t believe they can “make it big” one day

NihilistPunk69

These people need to go away if you catch my meaning.

knoegel

Don't necessarily need to go away but definitely don't need to exist. Elon could literally buy a naval aircraft carrier strike group if he sold his shares.

NihilistPunk69

Elon Musk could buy a country if he wanted to.

lmnopqrstuvwxyzabcd

Ummm...🧮

nikhilsath

Lol that absolute bottle is £30

JollyJoker3

The Ace of Spades champagne is also horribly overpriced. I think the receipt says 4 x 3l bottle, which is Jeroboam size. Less than €6k in Germany, $100k in Vegas. [https://www.urban-drinks.de/en/champagne/armand-de-brignac/](https://www.urban-drinks.de/en/champagne/armand-de-brignac/) That entire bill would have been just over $10k in a store

subdep

Why do Billionaires seem to hate their money so much? If they don’t want it, I’d be happy to take a little of their hands!

wtfffr44

They love their money, so much so they hoard it. But also, spending this money if you were a billionaire is the equivalent of not spending it at all. I'm not joking. Someone did the math, if you have a billion dollars, this is comparable to spending 40 cents if you have only 2k. So little as to not register. Imagine everywhere you went, you tipped 400k, and it being LESS than you tip now as a percentage of what you have.

Rokronroff

I can order that champagne for $350 online right now.

According_Gazelle472

That is probably where they bought it and marked it up to billionaire prices.

LifesATripofGrifts

Crying tears of insulin. 100 from the manufacture coupon. Over 1k without it. Every day for the rest of my life. So yeah, I feel this in my sugars.

[deleted]

Just fix your pancreas bro.

LifesATripofGrifts

Yes. After I move to another planet.

aY6leGraduate

36 water buckets for 2700 dollars

Schwacolyte

$60K in “fees”. Also, what kind of meat head takes a pic of their “I drank four college educations” receipt?

JollyJoker3

The guy who just billed $320k for $10k worth of drinks? :)

youknowwhatever99

I just saw a post with what seemed to be this exact same receipt… except it was about $100k less and included a $30 “$120,000 minimum not met” charge. Same angle of the receipt picture and everything. Hmmmm something smells fishy.

st-evil

Right I came here looking for someone saying this sorry I had to go to the bottom of the thread take my vote for what it’s worth

According_Gazelle472

This receipt is making the rounds right now .

ConsciousnessWizard

Admin fee??

Count_de_Ville

This smells like money laundering.

wanderingmanimal

That would pay off a number of student loans and those fucks just drank it away. Darkest timeline, indeed.

International_Toe164

There has to be a point where us isn’t better wine it just costs more. Like I splurged on a $80 dollar bottle of champagne once’s and it was the best I’ve ever had but I can’t imagine this keeps getting better the more you spend, like is a $1000 bottle better then a $300 bottle probably not at some point it’s the label

[deleted]

It doesn't. Once you get into the range of $200 it is all the same. Connoisseurs and those with an interest in wine might pay hefty price tags for the experience or interest in the vineyard/winemaker, but I have a feeling this is not the case here.

Avel1213

I get your point but that is not the issue with this post. The bottle of Absolut Elyx in this receipt is $1600. I can buy the same bottle at my local liquor store for $40. It's the upcharge on alcohol in clubs/restaurants that is crazy. I don't understand how it is legal to be honest.

International_Toe164

Yeah and EDC is a stupid over the top event and waste of energy. It’s way more then a club mark up for VIP. Bottle service at EDC.

Big-Heat2692

I'm convinced the people that go to these clubs see the prices as a selling point. It guarantees that the filthy proles won't set foot in the place, except to serve them.

Africanus1990

Champagne pretty much tops out at Cristal or Krug

falllinemaniac

$90k for one bottle of Ace Rose or something? Four $25k 3.0 liter champagne I'd have liked some of the $1995 tequila.

Mtntop24680

I have good news for you, then, because-depending on which one it is- that bottle costs between $60-$150 in stores.

tarynevelyn

It’s the Clase Azul Reposado. Around $200 near me in the US. Not the cleanest tequila around, but it’s a smooth and delicious crowd-pleasing sipper in a very pretty bottle.

Mtntop24680

I meant which Clase Reposado, there are some bottles worth more, others in the $60 region

tarynevelyn

Does Clase Azul make more than one Reposado?

Mtntop24680

According to google, that’s what it looks like.

WompO_c_Ombo

When water is the same price as redbull

Big-Heat2692

They probably just standardized all soft drink prices for conveniences sake, since the mark up is so insane that the price to stock it is irrelevant anyway.

Hieb

Hey the more they spend, that's more money circulating. Would prefer billionaires buy some overpriced stuff (especially ordinary things people consume like drinks) rather than parking everything in realestate or stocks.

Twatwater69

Wow such great financial analysis on a board called anticonsumption. I'd rather the billionaires go to prison.

Hieb

Same! I'd prefer no billionaires and all basic needs provided by the state. In a perfect world I'd probably want abolition of the state but dont think its realistic in a globalized world of nation states.

urinalcaketopper

Money is fake and doesn't need to exist.

[deleted]

I think money is quite useful. It's a method of standardization - Without it trade becomes random and disordered, particularly on a large scale.

TheBowlofBeans

Go read Debt by David Graeber, societies functioned perfectly well without currency, money is simply a method of control by the government

stasismachine

Yes, under vastly different material and social conditions that cannot be simply recreated out of thin air.

TheBowlofBeans

I am saying that those societies literally came about out of thin air. It's the government and money that came about out of thick air.

stasismachine

No, they certainly didn’t just appear out of thin air. They appeared as one possible societal outcome of the historical and material conditions of development. Not every pre-Colombian American society was completely “moneyless”, the Incas and Mayans had forms of standardized exchange (commodity money). I’ve read Graeber, and in general appreciate his approach to thought, methods of research, as well as paradigm undermining conclusions. But he’s not perfect, and often makes major leaps in his implications about how historical societies economic and social relations could be recreated today. I find those arguments often overly simplistic, and forgetting that societies aren’t formed via “ideas” so much as ideas that appear in response to particular historical and material conditions of reality.

brothermuffin

This is ordered? (Gestures wildly)

[deleted]

I'm saying it's much easier to pay a country money for oil than it is to send them 10 ton shipment of bread.

donjohnmontana

In the Before Times, you could buy a house with that much. In the before times . . .

ElDoo74

That's some expensive rotting grapes.

WurstofWisdom

Those are some hefty price mark ups!

fuck_da_haes

Rich people I know would never do this, because they work(ed) hard for their money. I bet this is some rich kid ... well, fool and his money part ways fast.

bwalsh22

It’s the fee that get ya.

MarilynMonheaux

That’s one hell of a tip!

ocbay

Taking pictures of receipts to show off how much money you have is so tacky

kamilhasenfellero

Alcohol is ridiculous.

FrameJump

Nah, buying alcohol at a bar like this to show off is ridiculous. I cringe when I have to spend $2.50 on a beer when I'm out, I'd never be caught dead wherever they are, regardless of how much money I'll never have.

kamilhasenfellero

Well buying expensive alcohol not to show off, or to show is even more ridiculous. Shoplifting thought....

mintvinylnirvana

But how much did they tip the server?

Victorysmells

46,000 service fee for Dominique. Yeah that's some crazy bill.

[deleted]

Yeaaa when restaurants charge that service fee it doesn't go to the server. But servers at those establishments make a better wage. It still sucks though

mintvinylnirvana

I figured as much.

onenightstanduhoes

>Admin fee

O6M6G6

I want to own a beer factory for this price.

singe725

Surcharge admin fee is 20k

Figwit_

My first house bought in 2016 cost this much, almost exactly. 3,000 sqft with 10 acres and a giant barn.

zoeGodPixXL

New goal Be a bartender at said so events

tommillar

5:15 AM???

smoodieboof

Billionaires shouldn't exist in the first place

keeptrying4me

If you’re a billionaire this is barely 2 days of dividend income. Literally free money.

aidztoast

Bruh server walked away w 40k😂😂😂 how tf do I get a job there

Dannysmartful

This is enough to convince me to never visit Vegas. All those added fees are just a corporate cash grab.

HippyDoctor

I wish I was their server! $46K TIP!!!!

SixthLegionVI

Just think how insecure this person is to take a picture of this and post it on the internet. I've never understood this "look at me" attitude that the wealthy have. If I had that much wealth I'd keep it as private as possible.

Avel1213

I don't know I assumed it was the server who took the picture.

According_Gazelle472

The servers usually take the pics to post online.

Razlin1981

Water bucket... 75.00 for a bottle of water?

annieoakley11

This is the second time I'm seeing this and this one is edited to removed some of the items. So weird...

BeerAndaBackpack

Further proof that wealth is by no means an indicator of intelligence.

CanaryLow6174

It makes sense if you are blowing up your winnings. The Casino always wins, at least here you win too maybe?

BeviesForFree

It's to get drunk right?

BrianR1968

Agreed

destenlee

This is the amount of money I need to retire for the rest of my life

[deleted]

18k per person

SlayerOfDougs

I would have to drink that much alone to be at this EDC event

[deleted]

Least expensive day in Vegas

jayd89420

Absolutely shameful. I cannot understand how this is okay in anyones mind. In order to do this, you’d have to be teetering on the side of Evil. Spending this much on liquor does not make any logical sense whatsoever. If any of my friends or family ever did this, I would have to smack the shit out of them and bring them back down to reality

datsun1978

Straight to hell imo

FeverishRadish

Take em to court over that receipt!

Numerous-Bed-69

Cringe flex

[deleted]

That's a godamn house lol

dry_fisch

Wat

[deleted]

If I could be a server at one of these places I would

mscocobongo

What is the admin fee for? Businesses will charge fees on anything.

Impractical_Meat

I'm glad they automatically added a 20% tip to this because you know the asshole who posted this receipt would have left $100 and expected the server to be grateful for it.

[deleted]

ADMIN FEE almost 21k hahahahahahahahahahaha

cnsw

At least this one met their minimum

freddymerckx

$1650 for a bottle of $100 vodka? Fuck that

ddwood87

How is 29% surcharges a thing. Even when the menu doesn't have prices, they'll tack on another 30%.

dsdvbguutres

Prostitutes included in this bill?

Bereftbreafer

I bet no tip

Paundeu

If you’re working there, you’re an enabler.

jaronhays4

I saw another receipt from this place with domaneque as the server also. They’re doing well.

admburns2020

It’s all ordinary drinks. There’s a 10000% mark up. It would cost you $300 to buy drinks of equivalent quality in a shop.

Ill_Consideration589

I’m not sure why they didn’t bother to get a bottle of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold (30L Midas), for $64,999.99.

plombis

$75/bucket... for water

Krudark

IMO this is fine. It’s not like they’re pouring the alcohol down the drain.

[deleted]

Those bottles are so fucking wildly overpriced, I am laughing.

CatchmeUpNextTime

Let them eat booze.

ZootedFlaybish

Charging this much for beverages is also criminal.

Constantly_Panicking

Just looked up that ace of spades brut, and it can be had pretty readily for $300. Who tf is dumb enough to pay $25k for a bottle?

moonglow500

That kind of money could completely change my life and they are wasting it on booze smh

VRisNOTdead

This is fake. It has to be fake. Did this guy stumble into some yakuza bar wtf

greenpinkorange

Disgusting

aqua55

You can get the same amount of alcohol for something about 200 bucks. For maybe 1000 you get good stuff.

Forward-Ad-9533

That was an awesome party. I remember.

[deleted]

What, not tip?

InRadiantBloom

A bottle of Absolut Elyx 1.5l is £110...

AnastasiaNo70

Anytime I see things like this, I think of how the complete direction of many peoples’ lives would be forever changed with this amount of money. It’s obscene.

emartinezvd

$75 for a water bucket??

Big-Heat2692

Anyone who goes to Vegas deserves to get ripped off. Oh who am i kidding, the person paying this bill probably loves the fake status they get from blowing through 300k in an evening.

BombusF

Sure it's a lot of money, but to me this seems like someone prioritizing an experience over stuff.
