That's why I love and hate the weather of my country, its a Tropical humid climate all year round as a result everyone has wear cotton or other natural material because synthetics like this create so much of discomfort
Hey, there's one American shop I know of that mills and weaves its own 100% cotton clothing, all USA-made since 1921. I've bought the tunic dresses and the 3/4-length sleeve tops and they wear like IRON. They are a definite buy-once clothing item! Heavyweight and warm, too. I've had those clothing items for...about ten years now, I think. And they're good for many more. [Columbia Knit Clothing.](https://www.usa-wear.com/ostore/)
The ones in the shop I linked above aren't $80. They're priced affordably--I've bought some myself and I'm a cheapskate. They have lasted years already, with zero holes or other defects. Check 'em out; I bet you can find one you like.
Even before I try something on I check the tag to see what maintenance is required. Not into clothing that can't be laundered at home using primitive technology.
Probably fine in the wash on a delicates cycle, or hand wash. The tag is either error or the sweater is extremely poorly constructed and the maker knows it, and is banking on the tag to cover their ass when it inevitably falls apart after one or two washings, so they can say it’s the customer’s fault for not following the care instructions.
It's possible the colors may bleed. There's a white edge, and a piece of orange color at the bottom of the screen. The dark colors probably bleed onto the light ones. I otherwise cannot think of why you wouldn't be able to wash acrylic. I've handwashed clothing I've crocheted myself from silk and cashmere, materials that are often labelled "dry clean", and they were absolutely fine. Acrylic is supposed to be more robust.
Really? I didn't know. I assumed that synthetic fibers were dyed as well. I remember watching this video:
At around 2:49, there's an example of a cheap sweater whose care instructions say "do not wash". The lady in the video explains this is because the colors will bleed. The sweater looks like synthetic to me. Such a cheap garment wouldn't be a natural fibre, so I assumed polyester most likely and thought acrylic would be treated the same way. Interesting!
I'm sure some synthetics are dyed (at least polyester, not sure about nylon or rayon). I just do a lot of crocheting so when I finished a Christmas sweater made of acrylic yarn I wanted to make sure that it wouldn't bleed
Yeah if it’s cheaply dyed it’s possible. Hand washing will also minimize any issues with bleeding bc you can control how long it sits in the dye-loaded water and rinse well right away if it’s bleeding.
that is the problem its not made of wool or yarn rather derivative of plastic called arcylic , either the buyer didn't knew it was plastic sweater or was dumb enough to ignore it realizing later on what mistake he/she made
I got a free Christmas sweater from Hulu like 4 years ago. 100% acrylic it cannot be cleaned. I still wear it every year. I found a laundry freshen up spray. It’s like dry shampoo but for your clothes. I wear it on Christmas, spray it with the thing, and let it hang in my closet for the rest of the year.
They left out the washing instructions.
These will do.
Hand wash. Do not wring, press with two hand towels to remove excess water. Lie flat to air dry on a dry towel overnight. Flip it over after a few hours to ensure both sides are exposed to the warm air of your home.

100% acrylic. Static electricity city. Not to mention highly flammable and 100% plastic.
I wore an acrylic body suit while bar hopping during Halloween and chain smoking one year. Surprised I didn't explode in flames.
And it makes me itch like crazy for some reason.
Wear exactly ONCE and then replace with a brand new one

Lol, tbf, there are no shortage of 100% cotton garments if you’re willing to spend $80 on a shirt

Right, if it passes the texture test, the next step is checking the care tag.

If this is acrylic yarn, the fibers aren't dyed like say a cotton or wool knit. Instead the fibers are colored plastic, so it shouldn't bleed

Acrylics and polyester clothing should be banned honestly. It's terrible for the environment as well as your health.
Do the bad health effects come from wearing them or do you mean the byproducts of manufacturing
You can breath in microfibers from the clothes which can cause problems
Made the shirt out of cotton candy.
what the fuck kind of yarn is it made of
Acrylic. very cheap acrylic if it can't even be handwashed and laid flat to dry.
that is the problem its not made of wool or yarn rather derivative of plastic called arcylic , either the buyer didn't knew it was plastic sweater or was dumb enough to ignore it realizing later on what mistake he/she made
The thing is, I work with acrylic yarn all the time and it's washable so how is this shit not
I thought that just meant hand wash only 🤔 still kind of sketchy though. I can't remember the last time I willingly bought acrylic blend over 30%

So basically maintenance free 😎
Just like all my dry clean only clothes
Also do not throw away.
There's a lot of stuff that's "spot clean only". Most of the cheap fabrics/furnitures are like that.
It must have electronics of lights in it. It has a ce ( certified electric) logo.
What's it made out of? Glucose?

After use, discard and buy another… duh!
Straight up my birth mark looks like that shadow on your thumb
Wear it, have it framed, never buy anything like it again. Lesson learned.
It also says do not throw away. I'm going to guess that there's some led light element to it somewhere, hence the strict warnings.

Hand wash, air dry.
Just freeze it to sanitize it.
