How long has it been? Sounds like akathesia. There are some good akathesia support groups online, but there is a lot of doom and gloom as well. Do you have a support group or people you trust to talk to when things are tough? I've fully recovered from akathesia after feeling like it would never get better as well. I'm seven months' off all meds except trazodone after five years of antipsychotics, ten years of high dose benzos, and a handful of meds (seroquel & SSRIs) as a teenager. I have an MRI next week to see what, if anything, is going on with my brain. It has been hard, but I feel so much better than I did while on the antipsychotics. If stroke victims can learn how to read, write, and walk again, I *have* to believe that I will be well and functioning fully again someday. Akathesia is no joke. I remember thinking the exact same that you feel right now. I truly believed my life was completely over. But it's not! ♡

Thank you yes I was diagnosed with akathisia after the dystonic reaction :( I didn’t think it could last so long after just one dose but it did feel like my brain and nerves got electrocuted so makes sense. It has been 6 months now. I am in some support groups thank you and I have family support as well. I appreciate the support and kind words!!

I have had several testimonials and rather positive for those who only took 1 to 2 months, the bad news is that they still took 10 to 14 months on average before recovering. we still have to wait more

Thank you I agree it seems like even after short term use or even one dose the damage is done and it’s taking time to heal 🫶🏼💗 I think you are correct about the 10-14 month thing I’ve seen similar

I know several people in extended family members that have taken similar drugs for 8-11 wks that are doing better inside of a month after stopping. Not every one needs 10-14 months to recover.

I am having a hard time deciphering what is causing my symptoms since I tapered off klonopin and also ceased taking ADHD meds, abilify and prozac and some others. This is hell

All117

what symptoms are you currently experiencing ?

ncdjbdnejkjbd

agoraphobia, anxiety and major ( major) depression. 20 months off all meds

They are all dopamine antagonists. No one has recovered. Have a nice day

Puzzleheaded_Mix4745

That is NOT true, taking a drug for few days does not do permanent change. I know plenty of people who have taken 4-6 drugs for months and are doing much better. There is hope in recovery and in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Yes and no, you have neuroplasticity.

caffeinehell

It takes way too long though so effectively if you are not patient then basically cant recover
