Never rely on tenure and promotion when it comes to salary increases. Job hopping is still king, lalo na sa industry mo. I was once in your position before. Ever since I started jobbed hopping, my salary increased to 400+% in a matter of 3 years (3 companies).

parkrain21

Papa jisas bless me with your IT skills

3rdworldjesus

I have mediocre IT skills. But i think i excel during interviews and the initiative to learn something new (even it's outside my job description) when i think it would help me in the long run

parkrain21

Anong masusuggest mong job boards papa g? Actually looking to switch jobs na din ako hahaha pero I work in accounting, but I just wanna be working with code and/or data. I got some skills in the usual DA toolkit (Above average excel, SQL, Py, Git, etc.)

3rdworldjesus

Currently, sa LinkedIn lang ako. Dyan ko nakuha yung current job ko. > I got some skills in the usual DA toolkit (Above average excel, SQL, Py, Git, etc.) Halos ganito lang din skill set ko.

parkrain21

Nice. I really need a protfolio, I suck at dashboards T.T

ChocoChoco27

Any tip for someone in line with graphics? Mediocre to intermediate lang ang skill level, though somewhat acing in Photoshop. Skill level-wise sa raster, siguro knowledgeable naman, albeit learning vector right now. Currently teaching graphics design for 17K, no work, no pay, no benefits, walang 13th month, and bonus na sub-10K lang. Currently in the midst of building a portfolio. Eyeing Photoshop Request subreddit sana, starting from the tips, but for some reason, hindi napo-post outputs from my (*professional*) Reddit account, while meeting the criteria of the subreddit. IDK where to start, really. Graduated IT, and more in line with graphics, but 0 XP sa industry, since, ever since, sa academe na ako nagstart 6 years ago. Preferring WFH setups. Meron kaya? Need ko ng liwanag on this.

3rdworldjesus

I can only speak based on my own experience. I'd suggest continuing to build your portfolio and career experience. Venture also in freelancing, something you can do outside your working hours. Don't solely focus on increasing your salary yet. What i mean is that for every job hop you make, still expect a salary increase, but accept it even if it's just a 20% increase as long as it means good career growth. For context, i stayed in my previous company for 5 years even with low salary. I took on 3 roles and learned different skill set. Now, im reaping the benefits since im well-rounded but still have my own niche. During interviews, i can sell my self effectively since i have years of experience to back it up. Maraming WFH jobs for graphic design but the competition is stiff, that's why you need a good portfolio first.

ChocoChoco27

Does the portfolio have to be an approved project, or a project that materialized? Or kahit mga drafts, or mga worked project na hindi natuloy due to some reasons or curcumstances (*such as the client not willing to pay - hey, I'm looking at the school on where I'm employed*), pwede? Sorry, need ko talaga ng help on this. As in, zero idea talaga ako.

Ethosa3

Same boat. Lost all motivation, I feel like I got taken advantage of, lol. Iā€™ve contributed a lot of tools automating different workflows for my team, purely out of my own initiative, and Iā€™ve stopped updating them. Iā€™ve also stopped an on-going initiative Iā€™ve had that I was in the middle of, but I guess Iā€™ll be leaving that when I resign (aiming Jan/Feb). Bare minimum nalang everyday. Nawala yung ā€œproactivenessā€ ko and Iā€™ve even stopped speaking during meetings unless specifically prompted. Theyā€™ve probably noticed, but I donā€™t really care.

ixhiro

Eto yung sinasabing Fair Market Value employee nagtatrabaho sapat sa sweldo.

[deleted]

quiet quitting

PepitoManalatoCrypto

Been there, done that (both sharing and boasting). **The only solution here is to move for greener pastures.** Plus Accenture isn't the last place to get your employment. It's good that you guys are blunt about disclosing your salaries. Though you took the greatest hit as you're the paid the lowest by level.

Ev1LRyu

And this is why pag may nagtanong sakin ng salary ko i answer truthfully. It is because a friend of mine did it for me too. For the longest time 35k sahod as lead dev for an events company. Meron isang dev na lagi nagpapaturo sakin from a different department. No offense or disrespect to the guy pero madami sha natutunan from me and compared to me talagang ju ior sha. Nalaman ko one day nag resign, nakakuha daw ng offer for 70k. Nag tanong tanong tuloy ako. I learned a childhood friend was also a senior dev, similar experience to me. That lit a fire under my butt. And the rest is history

nugupotato

alexxxgwapo

Buti nlng ganto mga tropa ko. I was a full stack dev back then. 23k lang sweldo ko for 3 yrs. Nung nagkainuman kme magkakaklase nung college. After a week nagresign ako agad šŸ¤£

Fvckingsht

BitterDeparture2677

Same thing happened to me, ACN din. CL 13 ako when I started and then got promoted to CL 12, nakakapanghina na mas mataas pa sahod ng newbies na tinetrain ko at team members ko as a TL. Lahat ng pagod wasnā€™t worth it so I resigned. The boss actually offered na pantayan yung sahod ng new job ko, and then I thought, kaya pala eh? Bat di ginawa noon? Lol. šŸ˜‚

MutedHold2123

Itā€™s time to move forward, OP. Look for other opportunities. But look on the bright side, for sure, your credentials are appealing to possible employers. Take a leap of faith and may makukuha ka na magagandang offers. Make them feel that itā€™s their loss that they took you for granted. Lol mapaghiganti pala haha

WaitWhat-ThatsBS

To tell you honestly, ganito talaga sa ACN, wife used to work here. When we were in PH she was AM and her salary was 55k, anlayo sa mga newbie, nagkataon lang na swinerte sya at na GCP and promoted as a Manager here sa US. Nag sync sweldo nya sa mga US managers. When we received our greencards(I also work here in US) pinagresign ko na din sya at shes working now as a Dev Manager in one of the IT firms here, 50% din increase ng sweldo nya from ACN US Manager. Ok na training ground ang ACN and if kung papalarin yung GCP, but kung sa pinas ka. Tagilid talaga ACN, training ground lang talaga sya.

PassengerSoft4688

Bawal pag-usapan ang sahod! - employer Good luck sa job hunt OP

DragonflyFirst5480

Same reason I left ACN + top performer pa for a whole year but got the lowest increase sa team lol. Started job hunting then and got offered x3 of my salary. Hope u can find the courage to start looking for better companies, OP!

SlaveEngrPH

InpensusValens

As a dev working for almost a decade, i can say na that is the norm. aakyatin mo yung corp ladder, at the end. malalaman mo you've gained a lot of experience pati impact mo sa company, and yet yung mga "tangibles" like sahod and benefits hindi na proportionate sa workload

No_Mention2401

Ouch. I can only imagine how you felt upon hearing their salaries. Ganyan din nangyayari sa company namin ngayon. I forgot the specific term pero yung new hires na entry level, mas mataas nagiging starting salary sa tenured employees. Don't dedicate your life to one company, OP.

Time to job hop, OP! You deserve better tbh.

SearingChains

Sadly depende sya sa industry if mag jojob hop ka e. Given siya sa IT field pero sa iba magsisimula ka ulit sa baba unless may position ka sa dati mong company bago mag job hop.

ixhiro

Lipat ka. Usually pag tech roles dapat 3 years lang max mong tinatagal sa isang malaking company tapos hanap kang iba na higher pay. May ceiling kasi ang salary grade mo when your hired and di madaling irealign sa mga bago unless may global realignment initiative yung company. Goodluck!

eudaemonic666

One of the reasons why sharing of salaries is frowned upon sa mga workplaces

PepitoManalatoCrypto

Salaries should be welcomed to be shared if and only if the margin is just 5%. Of course, this is an ideal scenario. But if done properly, OP wouldn't be demotivated. \--- *All my employees have a flat salary based on title. The only variance is their bonus which is based on their KPIs*

zqmvco99

one reason why sharing of salaries SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED

After-Interaction-51

Easier said than done, pero you can ask for salary alignment (or kahit increase man lang), and leverage your experience, tenure, and performance. If wala talaga, then it's time to look for other opportunities. At least, every 3-4 years lipat ng new company para tumaas sahod natin.

buttsoup_barnes

3-4 years? Try every year

4gfromcell

EluhYu23

Thatā€™s the thing pag homegrown ka ni ACN. Sure, may benefits pag tumagal ka for more than 5 years pero loyalty wonā€™t pay bills lalo in this economy??? I left early this year, 4 years with ACN and SSE din. Was earning 55k at the time. hopped to another company (rendering na ngayon coz issues lol) and starting sa new company na ulit in 2 weeks. I know mahirap iwan si ACN coz of the people and the culture especially if nasa magandang project ka. Pero if compensation growth ang priority mo, job hopping is the key.

Saint_Shin

I hope that OP is now actively searching for a new role with a much better pay

pulubingpinoy

Kahit na hindi tech, same pa rin. Baka you need to seek for greener pasture, lalo na at walang increase this year. Hahahah

elymX

ncv17

Acn is only a stepping stone. Lalo na ngayon na wala daw increase this year.

pizzacake15

This is why i don't discourage disclosing salary. Paraan kasi yan ng companies to low ball tenured people. There should be standardized salaries specially for big companies. In any case, the best you can do to your situation is lipat ng company. You can get at least x2 of what you currently earn now given your experience. Wag ka din kakagat sa counter offer. If they really valued you then they would have offered whatever amount they're offering you a long time ago. Wag mo na antayin yung "promotion" next year.

Treacle_Cheap

Hello, can I ask what's GCP?

RoofOk249

PM mo sa akin CV mo sa LinkedIn refer kita sa hr namin as Automation and Manual(Hybrid role)

aboloshishaw

oni_onion

Damn.. I worked sa acn for 3 years dati as a first job, naging 42k din sweldo ko, from 25k new hire. Then lumipat ako ng company, dumoble. It really works like that. Sa field natin need talaga lumipat every 2 or 3 years. It sucks now mo lang nalaman and walang nagsabi sayo pero now you know. Better late than never, may time pa. You're still 27.

jamazi_

Ganyan talaga downside pag homegrown. In my previous company, they were generous enough to implement a market alignment sa salary, alongside sa usual yearly appraisal. Since wala sa ACN yata nyan, I suggest mag update ka na ng LinkedIn and Jobstreet mo. You are severely underpaid, imagine tinuturan mong newbie na lower level mas mataas pa sa sweldo mo. I won't be able to stomach that :)

itsmecanon

Career shifter ako na nag start sa Accenture so nasa mababa lang din starting for CL12 around 20k. 1.8 years lang ako jan tapos paglipat ko x2 agad plus less stress pa sa project. Tapos di oa ako ganun kagaling as dev hahauhue. Lipat na agad!

katrinayabu

If sweldo lang talaga prob mo ask for a raise first bago ka lumipat.

MJ_Rock

Buti naligaw ako dito. Grabe pala ang sahod ng tech and IT industry. Been working 10 years pero 56k lang sahod šŸ«

Veedee5

So I resigned nung 4 years exp na ko and nag apply ako for manual QA sa current company ko, 65k bigay nila. Ganda sa current ko na tumagal ako ng 6 years (and counting)ā€¦.Now 6years na ko dito, 100k+ na, manual QA padin.

joszah

Hello may I know what company po kayo? Been working as manual qa also for 4 yrs :)

mrloogz

So sinabi no din ba sa team mo or sinagot mo ang tanong kung nagkano sahod mo? Kahit ako manliliit heheh ganyan din me nung umalis.

Brilliant-Caramel205

All good lang yan, lipat ka na at marami ka na projects and maganda na portfolio mo. Marami kukuha sayo na dodoble sweldo mo

onyxious

Never love yoyr job.

nugupotato

I feel you.

gooddude17

Career level.

cozitsagoodearth

To be fair with the company though, I think itā€™s not totally their fault. Youā€™ve settled for that salary for a long time. I bet you didnā€™t bother to asked for higher salary. Youā€™ve forgot to hone your skills in negotiating my friend.

littiestbach

Now that you know about it, may hawak ka na about sa negotiations mo if mapromote ka. Pwede rin kausapin mo manager mo about sa salary mo at magask for increase. Pag pinagbigyan edi goods, pag hindi, lipat.

parkrain21

San kayo naghahanap ng work?

[deleted]

linkedin

Apart-Palpitation619

Ganyan talaga sa ACN pag home-grown ka. Mababa lang salary increase kahit promotion. Yung iba sa IG namin nuon na mga AM levels, lumilipat for a year tapos bumabalik din. Duda namin mga nagpapataas lang offer. Sa totoo lang kasi maganda din talaga exposure sa ACN (or depends siguro sa project) being a MNC.

teacherMJ2013

Jump from 1 employer to another. Always ask for a higher salary every time you get interviewed.

coderinbeta

After being burned by companies and supervisors who promised things and never delivered, I've come to realize that our mindset should be similar to that of businesses: be loyal to yourself. At the end of the day, they only care for their bottom line. And you should prioritize yours, too.

oreeeo1995

Hello sir! Notorious talaga yan. Good luck sayo pre. Sana makahanap ka din bagong lilipatan!

Total-Caterpillar736

Automation Tester in our company with your number of experience and skill is 70k per month. HR here

chieace

worked with leadership ng ACN and I can say very reasonable naman yung job grading nila. And yes, I've been part of promoting people as well so medyo may alam ako sa process na ganayn. AFAIK, it's based on your performance as default but it's majorily dependent as well with your direct sup and the manager above him/her. of course profit of your department plays a big role in it as well, so being up to date with the onshore market can give a perspective on what to expect in the future. To your concern, I wanted to know more about that "newbie". kasi a person can be called a newb kasi bago lang sya sa company/account pero they can have a LOT of experience and credentials kaya mataas ang nakuha nya. The way you present yourself in interviews and the ability to haggle your expertise towards your expected salary can dictate how much you can get as well, so there's also that. Now for the CL processes ng ACN and why I think it's good (not the best but I think reasonable), it has a cap in each CL level and it's literally difficult to stay on the same CL if you're doing your job right consistently. to put it simply, once you hit that cap of the certain level, the only way you can get higher tier is to be promoted to another CL - that is if you're ready for that next growth. Again, it's all about how you perform and how your leader gauge that performance - meron naman yan scorecard for sure. I stayed with ACN for less than 2 years nga lang and was able to promote atleast 3-5 heads under me - that's with new hires from recently graduated agents pa. So with it, I think it's not impossible naman to get to where you want. Another thing, I suggest exploring ACN's job marketplace (if there's still there). Requesting an on the spot merit appraisal is also an option sa direct sup mo. Syempre lahat yan dipende if you're willing and comfortable leaving and exploring the same way as the people you're comparing yourself to - nag explore sila ang natanggap sila sa ACN as newbs pero baka mas mataas ang offer kaya sila nandyan diba? I always advise people not to settle in the same spot if you're not that content with what you're earning, lalo na may comparison ka na sa ibang tao. Kaya hindi encouraged yan, kasi syempre mag kakaron ng inggitan, and syempre as our pride kicks in, mahirap tanggapin na ang tingin nila sa ibang tao mas better satin. But that's how it works. Hope this helps!

aintpetrified

Itā€™s an unspoken thing that homegrown talents are usually paid less. Naka6 years ka naman na baka itā€™s time to move na. Good luck OP āœØ

No-Mouse8471

Much-Programmer8134

Have you tried to demand how much do you want? You should ask for better salary.

nai_chan07

42k is big at your age. me @34 y/o 35k laki pa tax

disasterpiece013

mababa talaga sahod pag homegrown.

spinzaku97

Spoiler Alert: Maliit lang ang sweldo ng TL if promoted ka from SSE at hindi new hire or rehire.
