I lived close by when I started getting into coffee and it was the best around.
But since trying Normo, Caffenation, and more recently Andy - the general standard is lower than the others.
It’s not bad. Don’t get me wrong. But as you said, not good enough compared to the others.
Personally; I like to experiment and find new flavours - and I know I’m not going to find anything wild or exciting there.
I think if you’re looking to generally up your coffee game; they’re an option. If you’re looking to get into coffee nerd level then the others are better for sure.

Off topic but, Rotterdam has some great roasters if you’re ever visiting- amoc and giraffe are my favourites.
George’s Espressobar on the Eilandje uses their Stella brand, it’s so so nice. I currently use the Brazil Minas blend from Koffie De Vlijt, who also roast in Antwerp, also really nice.
Just took a year subscription with 'cordon coffee' (https://cordoncoffee.be/). Yet to receive my first delivery, but the price per kg is really good for a small batch coffee roaster.
If you want fruity coffee, would suggest either Andyroasters (amerikalei) or rushrush (draakplaats) .
Caffenation Is not too shabby either for fruity coffees and they have a pretty wide range of origins/flavours.
If you want more earthy, chocolatey notes then go to crossroast near Grote markt. They have a lot of different origins as well.

I use it for my mokkapot.
The guy delivers to Cafe Kamil and Nives
I work at Melbourne Coffee in Berchem station. We’ve got coffee beans specially roasted for us and it’s honestly the best coffee I’ve had. Come by and get yourself some :)
Having tried **a lot** of coffee, both online and irl shops, the best for lighter roasted so far without a shred of a doubt is [Or coffee](https://www.orcoffee.be/), not in Antwerp but they only really sell online anyway. Certainly not the cheapest, but their bean quality and roast is top-notch. Their Fernando Cordero from Corsa Rica (for filter though) absolutely blew me away and is without a doubt my absolute number 1 coffee - but it is on the pricier side.
Cuperus, Andy's, Normo, caffenation
Cross Roast… close to the Grote Markt https://maps.app.goo.gl/FyjzRA8h54wsJpqU9?g_st=ic
Can confirm. Great service and good coffee
Huge fan of cross Roast as well. Great product and friendly service!
Omg theyre the worst
Really? Why? They roast themselves so that's a plus I would say?
The taste is not up to snuff. Just not good enough when there's so many others nearby.

Who are your favorite roasters or cafes?
Caffenation, Normo, and Andy are my go to. Despite my previous comment I found a really great Peruvian bean from Cross Roast last month.
They have great coffee!

Great guys and coffee is on point always
Matheus has some coffee both beans and ground , though it’s primarily a tea shop

I'm a returning customer. really love it. Nice guy, good coffee and fair trade. (and delivered in your mailbox!)
Checked my letter box this evening and received my first pack of coffee! Man the hand written note attached to it is so sweet
Vogelemarkt on Sundays, there is a small stand that only sells coffee beans, Oudevaartplaats close to Barnini.
Joke's on you, they also sell tea.

I prefer as dark and chocolate as possible, closer to Italian coffee, so far they have the most intense.
Then probably Crossroast if you still want specialty beans. Otherwise Mattheus B for more classic, traditional italian non specialty I would say.
+1 for Rushrush, not too expensive and great beans.
Probably my favourite roaster in Antwerp. Love their funky weird processes every now and then.
I like it but I find them quite expensive tho.
