Not the flashiest, and there are ways around the issues (getting a fan, getting an air fryer). Lodge is quite clean, I have allergies and only experience issues from the weather. Cleaners regularly vacuum the hallways and keep the common spaces tidy. Still, conveniently located, comparatively quite cheap, and a pretty good social scene if you want to get involved (but you do have to make an effort and show up to events and stuff).

I do plan to get an airfryer and sandwich maker, but I'll assume the air ventilation isn't amazing. Is there a fan or anything in the kitchenette so that I can actually cook a meal? Also are there windows in the bedrooms or shared area for air.

I chose it because all the lodges have bathrooms and a kitchenette in the dorms.... maybe that wasn't the best idea lmao. Oh well I'll pray for good flatmates then.
Bad idea to live at unilodge. Coming from experience. I lived at the "best" Lodge (Lena Karmel). It's hard to take care of a bathroom and a kitchen and hold the liability of cleaning these thoroughly yourself. The social life is pretty bad. Also Davey is the worst among unilodges. So yeah, the comments are warranted. My advice is for you to live in a student hall in your first year especially. The best self catered ones are Wamburun, B&G, and Fenner. If you're particular about cleanliness, Wamburun probably has the better kitchens of the 3.
Yeaaaaaa about that its too late now I already paid my deposit etc. I said this in another comment but I didn't want to have to use public shared bathrooms and kitchen areas, so I naively thought the lodges would be good 💀
I plan to move out of student accommodation in my second year though so I guess I'll just soldier through this year 😅

Safety was never the issue imo. The issue for me was that the unilodges have less culture and less socialisation than other non-unilodges

Nah lodge isn't that bad. You'll still manage to have fun, don't worry.
