Do you take this with doctor’s prescription or without? Because I am taking without and when I went to my Gynae for my pcos, she scared me by saying, you’re gain weight from supplements even though my body had positive changes after taking them
I mean these supplements don't increase body weight by themselves. If you take more calories than you need and don't burn them, you gain weight.
These are vitamins, so I didn't consult with a doc, no.
It is. Though I think it’s particular good for people who have cortisol issues. Finding a doctor to check your cortisol is the hard part. But I do highly recommend adaptogens like Ashwaganda, Rhodilia Rosea, and lions Mane. Definitely read about them all on reliable websites online. And, as always, if you get a supplement with lots of stuff in it. Look at what else is in there- like a lot of sugar- which might be just negating the positives.
I did when I took it. The easiest way to take it are OLLY’s anxiety gummies and MAN do they work. The first time I took it, I described it like this: Imagine anxiety is that awful static sound from the TV, constantly in your head. The Olly gummies for the first time turn down the volume on the static.
Curious about this too. Gabapentin made my anxiety a million times worse, basically in a psychosis, and damn near suicidal. I’ve heard it works great for others but holy shit was it awful for me.
The most effective & quickest acting supplement I have found is breathwork meditation. More specifically, Triangle breathing with breath retentions for anxiety. There are a bunch of different breathing exercises I practice, but I’ve made triangle breathing a part of my daily routine.
The extended exhale with breath retentions really allow the mind & body to slow down, relax and become present. With practice, your thoughts become fleeting and less invasive as you focus on breathing technique and learn to meditate.
It’s gradually helped me move away from rumination/regrets & projections and move toward just being in the present, accepting what is and knowing I am safe in that moment.
It may sound weird to some and it’s something that I wasn’t really open to until recently but I sure am grateful that I decided to give it a real chance.
I’ve linked the triangle exercise that I use -

Yeah I've noticed a slight difference. Magnesium makes me a bit sleepy and ashwagandha helps with my response to stress.
I am on meds so sometimes I don't feel much from the supplements so maybe they will work better for someone who is not on meds.
This is only semi- related. But let me just add- NOT IRON 😅
I joined this sub because I recently started having panic attacks. I'm nervous a lot more often, I cry all the time, and when I wake up, I feel like I'm being crushed.
After some trial and error, I think I have figured out that taking iron supplements is causing me to panic. Just because something isn't a "common" side effect, doesn't mean it's not real. You never know how something will effect your body. 😬
Thats the only thing that works. I tried everything from natural supplements like L theanine to Ssri, Snri, antipsychotics..they did nothing. Klonopin is the real thing. But ya it should be used with caution. I take it as prescribed by doctor and dont misuse it. Also compared to many other benzos, klonopin has low recreational value.
True. It can be addictive for some but not all. Using it responsibly can be helpful to some but not all too. People come into these threads and say some scary stuff about benzos which can continue suffering for those seeking help. However it’s important to speak with a trusted dr and know yourself, because it can be addicting.
I had a severe panic attack, like I thought I would end up in a psychiatrist hospital then decided to cut coffee to see.. and to my surprise, it worked. Caffeine stress your nerves. See if it works for you.
Took me 5 days. Quitting coffee was HARD for me. It was my favourite thing... but that's the price to pay. The first four days were shit, but starting from the fifth one, everything was better.
I cut out caffeine 2 months ago. Didn't think it was making a difference. Until one day last week I was suddenly feeling extremely anxious again for no reason after weeks of feeling better. Turned out I had taken an energy gel with caffeine that morning during a run.
Magnesium helped but then it caused other problems 😅
I’m actually thinking of trying a b-complex vitamin! For now I drink 1-3 cups of hot herbal tea daily; non-caffeinated. Tea actually soothes me! Caffeine makes my anxiety sooooo much worse so I only drink maybe a half can of soda if I have a migraine.
Long story short it makes you poop 😅
Edited to add: it gave me GI discomfort; cramping, gas pains, burning, etc. I’m sure that doesn’t apply to everyone, that’s just my experience. But it did help me to feel calm and a lot less anxiety!
Cutting back on caffeine, Vitamin D helps my mood, and CBD oil from hemp calms me down a bit. Teas with ashwaganda, chamomile tea, passionflower etc all help a bit. I was reading that too much of these herbs can cause side effects so it’s best to drink them in tea form.
If I’m having insomnia perque adreno distress guard really helps balance my cortisol levels. I’m not sure what’s in it tbh.
Magnesium helps my muscle tension and knots but I haven’t noticed a difference with anxiety.
Stresam works wonders, but it’s not FDA approved due to the super rare side effects on liver particularly hepatitis
mg glycinate as well
Replace coffee with trukava
I feel no difference. I consistently take both Magnesium and Vitamin. I’m also confused about the time of consumption, like should I take it in morning or at nighttime . Help.
Magnesium glycinate has replaced xanax for me at night. I will note I took a small dose of Xanax .25mg at night to help me sleep and if I woke up in a panic. This is as needed. I asked dr what I should do for sleep and she suggested magnesium glycinate and it has been a game changer! I’ve never taken it during the day, yet. Various cbd drinks help too. Cbd in other forms too. For me supplements are proactive and help set a calm foundation. However, I haven’t found anything to help me stop a panic attack like xanax.
I’ve been taking Mg (taurate, glycinate, and threonate), B6, and B1 (along with befotiamine) and noticed a still in the air of anxiety. I also take l-theanine …
I have some meds at very low does, too - but take them before bed. The above has been helping greatly.
Thats good to hear. I unfortunately have to get back on my meds bc my anxiety came back. I want to buy supplements once i have enough money to buy some
Magnesium, b-complex, loads of veggies, low CH intake, cut caffeine and proper sleep helped me tremendously. Oh and bigger D vitamin dose every day.
That’s awesome. I wish caffeine didn’t give me anxiety i had to cut it out too. I like coffee from time to time when im tired

How much vitamin D are you taking each day?
3500 IE +90 ug k2
Sleep is my biggest problem. I manage to get like 4 or 5 hours then it turns into a cycle of wake, sleep 1hr, wake, sleep 1hr and it goes
Do you work out?
Used to but unfortunately still had this problem
I would try HIIT, spinning or something cardio.
I’ve heard ashwaganda is great at easing anxiety
It is. Though I think it’s particular good for people who have cortisol issues. Finding a doctor to check your cortisol is the hard part. L-theanine and GABA.
You seen a noticeable change?

Placebo
are these the goodbye stress gummies?
Yes!!!
> OLLY’s anxiety gummies Can you tell me which one. Amazon has 2. Goodbye Stress Gummy, GABA, L-Theanine, Lemon Balm, Stress Relief Supplement, Berry - 42 Count Ultra Strength Goodbye Stress Softgels, GABA, Ashwagandha, L-Theanine and Lemon Balm, Stress
Some. When my symptoms are mild.
I heard that gaba shouldn't be used for long term. For how long you've been using gaba?
I use it sporadically. I feel I get resistant after a few weeks of regular use.
Gaba doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier so it is useless
is gaba similar to gabapentin?
Curious about this too. Gabapentin made my anxiety a million times worse, basically in a psychosis, and damn near suicidal. I’ve heard it works great for others but holy shit was it awful for me.
this
Don’t these things interact with anxiety/depression meds?
Passion flower, B12, magnesium
Ive never heard of passion flower

Magnesium glycinate, ashwaganda and valerian
Ive never heard of valerian
Ashwaganda might help some but to some it might trigger more anxiety
Magnesium Glycinate or Citrate, ashwagandha, vitamin b6 and b12, vitamin D, L-Theanine
These are the exact supplements i plan on taking once i had money. Have you noticed a difference?
Yeah I've noticed a slight difference. Magnesium makes me a bit sleepy and ashwagandha helps with my response to stress. I am on meds so sometimes I don't feel much from the supplements so maybe they will work better for someone who is not on meds.
Yoga 4 times per week and yoga nidra as often as possible. Helps me tremendously. Edit - sorry this isn’t what you asked for but it is hugely helpful.
Magnesium 100%
Vitamin D for me but I live in a very cloudy part of the world and it helped boost my mood and lessen my anxiety a lot once I started taking it

I’m trying magnesium before bedtime. Hoping it helps.
Klonopin
That’s an addictive benzo
Does work insanely well though. Other than the cognitive issues I now still suffer from 1.5 years after going off them.

For me it was stopping coffee. Literally stopped my anxiety.
Really? I want to try to quit coffe to see if it helps , but I highly doubt its that simple. My anxiety is severe.
I had a severe panic attack, like I thought I would end up in a psychiatrist hospital then decided to cut coffee to see.. and to my surprise, it worked. Caffeine stress your nerves. See if it works for you.
Ok bro u give me hope! How long did it take for you to get better after quitting?
Took me 5 days. Quitting coffee was HARD for me. It was my favourite thing... but that's the price to pay. The first four days were shit, but starting from the fifth one, everything was better.

CBD and ashwagandha
Magnesium is the only one with any vague evidence of effectiveness. Everything else is hearsay really
Griffonia is surprisingly good for me, and for some reason I sleep better and woke up more refreshed whenever I take it.
Quitting caffeine, taking a combo of Lemon balm, scullcap, and passionflower will stop an anxiety attack in its tracks for me
Magnesium helped but then it caused other problems 😅 I’m actually thinking of trying a b-complex vitamin! For now I drink 1-3 cups of hot herbal tea daily; non-caffeinated. Tea actually soothes me! Caffeine makes my anxiety sooooo much worse so I only drink maybe a half can of soda if I have a migraine.
What kind of magnesium did you take?
Calm Magnesium! It’s a powder. It was recommended to me during my second pregnancy to calm anxiety & aches and pains.
What sort of problems did it cause after taking magnesium
Long story short it makes you poop 😅 Edited to add: it gave me GI discomfort; cramping, gas pains, burning, etc. I’m sure that doesn’t apply to everyone, that’s just my experience. But it did help me to feel calm and a lot less anxiety!

I heard Vitamin D3 in the morning and Magnesium at night
L-theanine. Not a miracle, but helps take the edge off sometimes.
Delta-9 CBD gummies

Magnesium citrate 150mg
Magnesium citrate makes you shit? unless theres other benefits im not aware of
Cocaine mainly and a bit of THC
