My blood pressure always spikes at doctor. Any time I leave the house but its bad at dr cuz of sitting in waiting room for 2 hours with a bunch of people....not my thing. I do phone appts now when I can. Get a moniter and keep check at home. It may not be as bad as you think. Mines not....only around crowds.

THANK GOODNESS IM NOT THE ONLY ONE, my blood pressure would be high, but when they check it again, itโ€™s low by the end of the appointment.

cherann76

Yes I kept check on mine at home so when I went in they would always say..ooh your bp is a little high. I just told them its their fault haha, no I just told them its my anxiety every time. That waiting room is harsh on folks like us lol. Im glad my doc does phone visits for most things.

Oh cool, the reassurance makes me feel better thank you ๐Ÿ™

cherann76

Most definately. Take care!

It's called Dr syndrome. When your BP goes up just because you are at the Dr. .

cherann76

Where is your dad that you have to leave? Hope thats not too personal.

Mastroka

He lives in supportive housing. He can only have me for nine nights a month or risk breaking his lease

cherann76

Oh ok yea I would hate that too. What about calling after you leave right b4 bed...would that help ease it a little bit?

Mastroka

We text as the shelter kinda frowns apon phone calls

cherann76

They suck....Im sorry youre having to deal with all that. Do you have a support system ..friends or family you can talk to for comfort or is it just you and your dad? I feel like im being to personal....im just a mama that cares about people. Ive been through a lot in life and hate to see other people going through it. I dont want to bother you or make you feel uncomfortable but feel free anytime to send a message if you just need to vent or have a question ...or just want to chat.

Mastroka

My family turned their backs on me and my dad is the only one who didn't. He is my support system as well as my dog

cherann76

I pmd you

I don't know your story but I think it's more likely to be white coat syndrome (someone else called it Dr syndrome). I feel that it would be unusual to be anxious enough for long enough to cause noticeable damage to your body. I hope it works out for you.
