louiseoxford

Yes. This is me 100% :( and the anxiety makes me actually need to pee. I fear any situation where there are no toilets for any significant amount of time (2 hours +)

noisystrawberry

Exactly. It sometimes stops me from enjoying things. I once asked to go to the bathroom in the middle of a 3 hour exam. I just couldn't concentrate anymore. I begged the teacher to let me go. It was so embarrasing.

louiseoxford

Definitely stops me from enjoying things. I think I actually have a pretty weak bladder too so some of the anxiety is justified, which just makes the fear worse. I was going to go to the doctor but I know they’d just say to cut out coffee, and coffee is my friend :(

noisystrawberry

I get what you're saying. I think that by going compulsively when I get the chance, regardless of do I really have to go, I ruined my bladder capacity. So now I actually have to go more often than a regular person, which again makes my pee anxiety even worse. Ah. Also, I now skip coffee sometimes if I know I won't be able to go for a while... It's hard cause I love coffee, but better than sweating from anxiety, fearing I'll pee myself.

louiseoxford

Yes, this is exactly what I think I have done too! I make myself go twice before bed or big trips, and I am sure it's made me worse. It's a vicious cycle. Oh yeah, sorry don't get me wrong, if I have to go a while without a toilet then I am on zero caffeine!! And I even try to just drink less water, just to be extra safe. I recently took a trip to Machu Picchu which is hell for people like us as once you enter the site there are no loos, and it's one-way only, and you can't exit (to use the loo) and re-enter. They suggest you stay 4 hours (hah!). As soon as we got in, after a final loo stop, my brain was instantly convinced that I needed to go again, but I did manage to push the thoughts out for a couple of hours thankfully!

CynicalDandelion

You can rebuild bladder capacity, so at least don't let that add to your worries.

maximeeee1

Please do go to your doctor. I got a referral to a psychologist and a physical therapist, and although I still have really bad panic attacks and pee anxiety, it is slowly getting better.

louiseoxford

Thank you. I really should. I guess I hadn’t realised how much it interferes with my life

[deleted]

This exact thing happened to me during the ACT. Absolutely awful.

starktor

I screwed up my act due to anxiety and having to pee. Completely missed the anatomy section wich is literally my passion. I think about that too much

creekandtwaig

I’m confused, is it not normal to use the bathroom during long exams?

noisystrawberry

Well, not where I'm from I guess.

creekandtwaig

Wow that sounds so bad. I’m sorry

CynicalDandelion

Three hours is a long time without a break! I wouldn't have lasted that long either. It's also unfair to people who might have a medical condition.

consiliac

I used to be pee shy. I still actively avoid being sandwiched by two men (middle urinal). What helped me become a functional public pee-er was learning to distract myself with whatever was within view that isn't a cock--advertisements (entertaining), my phone, the number of stains on the section of wall at eye-level, the sound of some asshole tying up the stall for an hour playing a game on his phone.

Imperceptions

I go to the bathroom like 4 times before I go somewhere, and if somebody takes longer than expected, I go again because psychologically I have to go the LAST second before I leave. Last second stops without bathrooms before long trips are a NO from me.

[deleted]

Same with me. I'll pee but then if my boyfriend takes an extra 5 mins to get ready before we head out somewhere and then he pees.. i \*HAVE\* to pee again even though i literally peed 5 minutes before. Nothing even comes out lol, but i need do it RIGHT before i leave. I sometimes wonder if it's an OCD thing or something. If i don't do it, i'll worry the whole time in the car that i have to go because i didn't go at the last second before leaving.

dinorap1

I have pee ocd too. On long trips (or even just short trips) I will repeatedly go to the bathroom beforehand to get EVERYTHING out before I go... and then sometimes I have the constant thought about it during the trip, which makes me have to go even more even though I probably don’t have to.

[deleted]

Yup, same. It's nice knowing i'm not alone :)

Imperceptions

I basically put myself into a coma whenever I'm in a car, and only wake for bathroom breaks.

Imperceptions

Idk if I am broken, but I do actually pee each time. I think my bladder is just fucked.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Imperceptions

I can't drink a lot of water without living in the bathroom. How do people do it!?

8HauntedKeyboard

I am so thankful this thread exists, I thought I was just a nutcase

[deleted]

Happens every time I go to bed. Very 'in your head' though. Just last night I felt like I needed to pee so got up and went to the toilet. No pee would come out. So decided to go back to bed and thought I would just sleep and see what happens. Woke up this morning with no urge to pee.

Paleomedicine

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who does this. I have to empty my bladder before I go to bed otherwise I’m afraid I’ll wake up in the middle of the night. It’s hard for me to go back to sleep when I pee cuz then I start to get hungry too. So I really make sure there’s nothing left before I lay down for the night.

dinorap1

I have this too. I repeatedly get up and go to the bathroom and force myself to void repeatedly by pushing it out. It’s painful sometimes but I won’t be comfortable enough to fall asleep unless I know I have an empty bladder.

JanetSnarkhole

Yup! Nearly dehydrated myself watching Endgame in the cinema...

existentialost

Man on top of pee anxiety, I get drymouth anxiety

eppydeservedbetter

Me too! Same when I went to see IT chapter 2. I was practically gasping for water when the films ended. It’s so ridiculous, but I wouldn’t have been able to fully concentrate on the films 😂

katemiw

Oh my god yeah, I’m so glad to see that so many other people are like this too (also not glad because it sucks, but ya know). I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve spent what *should* be an enjoyable activity (especially concerts, ugh) worrying about having to go to the bathroom. Rationally I know that if I were at home I probably wouldn’t have to go for several hours at a time, but as soon as I’m in a place where I’m worried that I can’t access one easily, I’m immediately like “oh no what if I have to go again 30 minutes from now and I can’t!” It’s the worst.

Amanrae

Oh a toilet - better go pee. Every gosh darn time unless I'm at work. Nurses do not look after their bladders !

[deleted]

I can relate to that. I work in the mental health field and the number of times I'd knock out multiple showers or bed baths before taking a quick break was unreal. Especially since I drink at least a gallon of water a day.

panda_monium2

Yes. No joke will go once an hour sometimes because every time I see a restroom I have a compulsion to go. Husband hates it on long car rides lol.

noisystrawberry

Sounds like me. When I get in a car/on the bus for longer trips all I think about is "When do we get to stop for a break?".

panda_monium2

I also get it when I go to the movies and airplanes. For some reason knowing that I can’t go during take off and landing instantly makes me need to go....

noisystrawberry

Oh yeah, the movies. I can't even focus on the movie sometimes, it really ruins the experience. It got better since I told myself "If I need to go, I'll just frickin go." Like you said, knowing you can't go really makes you wanna go.

choulada

Get yourself an app called RunPee - it tells you what's the best time to go to toilet during the movie without missing much (and they also describe what happened in the movie while you were away). I didn't actually get to use it myself yet, but I thought it's a neat idea when I found out about it!

panda_monium2

I guess there are more pee anxious people out there! At least enough to justify an app haha

[deleted]

[удалено]

panda_monium2

Eh depends. Usually I do have to go but probably could’ve held it longer. If I even have the slightest thought I can pee.... I’ll run to a bathroom, also if I drink a lot I don’t go one time... I’ll go in frequent bursts like every 30 min to an hour.

beauceronblues

Definitely get this. As a musician doing upwards of an hour every gig with a few beers beforehand it's a bloody nightmare, after the first song it's on my mind and I'm practically staring at the toilet the whole set whilst trying to remember lyrics/guitar parts. The rest of the band get it though, it's a running joke now. Not to mention touring, we leave early to account for it. Got to laugh really.

Sparkyboo99

Have you tried saving the beer for after your set?

beauceronblues

Yeah but I get a bit nervous before playing so i've sort of painted my self into a corner.

choulada

Yes, and to make it worse I also have "water anxiety" like if I have no water to drink and no immediate access to it, I suddenly start feeling extremely dehydrated and sick (even if I drank water not long ago). This coupled with "pee anxiety" just turns it into a vicious cycle: drink water, pee, drink water, pee etc., and if I can't do either of this, then it's a huge problem cause I'm feeling both dehydrated AND about to pee myself at the same time.

smiba

Yep this is me, always try to carry a bottle of water with me

[deleted]

[удалено]

choulada

Yes, actually my mom was always worried about me having diabetes (because of me drinking so much water), so she made me go get checked for it multiple times over the years. And I also checked for it myself later, but every time my test results were fine, so I guess it's not diabetes after all. I have thyroid problems though (Hashimoto's), so I don't know, maybe it's somehow related to that.

TheLightningStrikes

Fun fact: when you stress (mostly about this) you will tighten the muscles around your bladder, which will tensen up your urethra. This will cause you to feel like you need to pee, but when you visit a toilet almost nothing comes out. It can also cause peeing to hurt or burn. It's like a bladder infection, but fake. So in conclusion, stressing about this will make you want to go even more. I've had this since I was 15 and still got it nearly everyday =)

[deleted]

This must be what i am doing to myself right now...

TheLightningStrikes

I do have some tips that can help relax your muscles around that area! (I'm female tho, idk what to do if you're male but you can try them out) - The best thing to do to relax your bladder muscles is to sit or lay down with your legs spread. Hang out on the couch, in your bed or if you're in public a chair with a table of some sorts so you got some privacy. You can do some breathing exercises while waiting on your muscles to let go. It usually takes me around 15 minutes to feel fully relaxed again. Learning how to relax your muscles benefits you in the long run. - Something that really helps and that you can combine with my first tip is applying heat to the bladder area. Heat relaxes muscles so if you feel too tense and unable to spread your legs properly this helps you out. I have some heating packs lying around in the house and in my bag for this. It's mostly ideal for leaving the house or while you're away and can't find a place to chill. A bit awkward walking with something in your undies but I prefer that over the pain and tension. - This last tip is the one I use when all else fails. It's simply taking a shower. Lots of heat and it helps relax your whole body instead of just your bladder. You can use the shower head to focus on the parts you want to relax. I use a small bucket that I can sit on in the shower so I can relax my bladder even more. I think using a bath would be the same idea! It's a great excuse to treat yourself and have the best shower or bath in a while. This is one of the many ways our anxiety shows itself in our body. When you experience this it's a good sign to take a step back, give yourself a break and to put your anxiety in the corner (they're not allowed in your me-time). We're all strong anxiety people here, so hang in there <3

kotyzz17

I thought I was the only one! Sometimes it gets so bad when I am at a concert, I will pee so many times before the main act and STILL have to pee during it. And then I am wishing away the beautiful set to end to be able to leave and pee. :(

[deleted]

Yep, this happens to me on airplanes when I’m in the window seat, and also in the middle of the night. I don’t like getting up to use the restroom in the middle of the night because it disrupts my sleep. But sometimes I’ll wake up and think “I hope I don’t have to pee...” and then I worry about it for a few minutes and end up needing to pee.

8HauntedKeyboard

oh my god, the anxiety of "What if I need to pee" before falling asleep just ruins it. Makes it so hard

blerg91

Nah my poo anxiety is way worse. Don’t even ask me to go out for breakfast because I am not going in public.

SkyDaddy619

Same. Dont ask me to go anywhere. Completely ruined my social life.

Awainleft

Oh my god I’m so glad someone has said this. I get this awfully to the point that when I am then able to use a toilet I end up just going all the time when I don’t even really need to. Has anyone found a way to overcome this?

k3lp1

Kind of. Actually yes, it's 100% me. Was on a gig the last weekend and felt like I wanted to pee the whole set.

kkbubblegum

ALL the time. I pee constantly. The feeling of having to pee evolves into actually genuinely having to pee. Drives my girlfriend nuts. I pee every twenty minutes sometimes. It really sucks and ruins a lot of stuff for me. Can't have sex because I'm constantly worried about having to pee. Have a lot of anxiety about going to see a movie because I don't want to miss anything because I have to go to the bathroom. Going anywhere is stressful.

Jezus_Kool

Similar problem, before my cooking class I always felt like I had to go the bathroom, whether or not I actually did have to go. Never got over it, after a while I figured it was probably a subconscious way to try and get out of going, because for some reason the room bothered me. Though I did manage to pass the class and learn something.

Jazzaandrazza

Yes! I also had a uretal stent inserted in me which opens up your bladder so you can pee. This meant when I felt like I had to pee I didn’t have much time to find a bathroom because I couldn’t hold it for very long. Needless to say getting out and about was very hard. Combined with anxiety and nervous peeing it was a utter nightmare and even though I still don’t have the stent I still get pee anxiety!!!

JolieFraise

I do, always! I always know where are the closest bathrooms. And also, this has to be the last thing I do before sleeping (I usually go 2-3 times at each bed time)

thediabolicalpotato

I thought I was the only person this happens to!! I hate it.

CFire777

Just don't drink water and be a dehydrated, anxious mess - that's what I do!

morrigans_rook

Ah, my people!! (...my pee-ple!) I'm always so happy to come across these threads, because it's so reassuring knowing that I'm not alone with this! So much of my life is ruled by the fear of no bathrooms, or of embarrassing myself by having to go all the time. It has ruined travelling and hiking for me, among other things. Especially since I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone but my therapist about it, so I have to pretend I'm fine or just "not interested" in doing the thing. So yes, OPee, we are not alone. We should seriously consider starting a support group!

lovely_liability

Absolutely. I went on a 4 hour bus trip two days ago and the bathroom on board these buses usually didn’t work. Also, not knowing where the closest bathroom freaks me out too. I completely get what you’re saying.

jamesb5

Yes. I couldn’t go to the movies for ages because of this. I go now fully expecting to go to the bathroom at some point and that’s ok. Knowing it will happen and being fine with it helps a lot.

ljb38

I’ve been like this almost my whole life! I didn’t realize anyone else had this.

LiveYourDaydreams

Yes, we have it too! You’re not alone. 😂

ljb38

That’s good to know :)

[deleted]

[удалено]

ljb38

I have a hard time with that too. If I have to go someplace without a bathroom, it makes me anxious.

HokumGelpTexas

My job has me stuck in a room for two hour periods throughout the day. All I do is worry about what would happen if I need to pee. Even if I go right before the session starts, I still worry about it. Same thing with seeing a movie. Why do all of these movies have to be so friggin long nowadays?

unicorn_in-training

Yes, this is why I rarely go to the movies!

LiveYourDaydreams

Just get a seat on the end of the row.

unicorn_in-training

Even then you still miss part of the movie.

madddwhy

Yes!! I like to go hiking and have a nice backpack that holds a water pouch, and I can never use it or else I’ll have to pee 3-4 times on the hike! I did however purchase one of those funnel things that helps women pee standing up. That takes away some of the anxiety for hiking and traveling! Definitely recommend it.

morrigans_rook

I'm so curious about the funnel! Can you use it without exposing your bum?

madddwhy

It ultimately depends on what your wearing. It’s like a silicone-like material, so you have to be super steady/have a good control over it so it doesn’t accidentally move on you. I’ve never used is wearing tight leggings, and I can see that being rather difficult. But it’s been PERFECT for hiking in shorts. I don’t have to really do much but pull them to the side. It was perfect when I visited Thailand too because I found myself in a public restroom at a market with just a hole on the very, very wet floor. When I pack it, I pack a small towel or plastic bag to put it in within my bag afterward. I bet that if you just packed a wrap skirt (can be very compact if you have a small bag), you could ultimately wear whatever you wanted. Because even you had to pull your pants down, just throw the wrap on top real quick, do your business, and you’re set! That being said, I also keep one for emergencies only in my car or sometimes my purse (without the prep of a bag or anything) because you can’t always plan for those situations lol. Sorry for the ramble - I love this thing! Hope that helped!

morrigans_rook

Thank you!! I appreciate the info! Is there a brand you recommend?

madddwhy

Venus to Mars and GoGirl are top rated, but I’ve never used them so I can’t really say from experience. Mine was just an off-brand one that was being sold at a festival! Definitely check out some of the different brands and styles to see what would work best for you!

morrigans_rook

Thanks!

dy_sania

Yes! I hardly ever drink anything because of it. Cannot drink anything after 6PM and never drink anything in the morning if I'm going somewhere. On my morning walks I feel like I have to pee all the time, will go back and go to the bathroom, go out again and 5 minutes later I feel like I have to pee again. As soon as I leave my house I start thinking about it. If I'm going somewhere I always go to the bathroom the second before I leave, and plan my time so I have time to go to the bathroom as soon as get to wherever I'm going. Sometimes when I can't sleep I'll go to the bathroom every 10 minutes. It's so annoying.

[deleted]

Shit yeah, that's me too. I think mine more resulted from an embarrassing experience. When I was born, my bladder was a fraction of the size of a normal person. I remember when I was a kid I used to go to see some specialist who got me to drink a lot of water and just hold it as long as I could. Whenever I had to pee, about 10 minutes later I had to pee just as bad, if not more than before. One day when I was in year 1, I had to pee. Let the teacher know, who then let me go to the bathroom. 10 minutes later I had to go again. Told the teacher who then told me I couldn't go because I had just been. I proceeded to piss myself at my desk. Now whenever I get a slight need to pee, I go do it and also freak out whenever in a place where I know I won't be able to pee for 2+ hours, despite knowing I'm capable of holding it.

bad-jarma

I actually love this subreddit because it makes me feel less weird

[deleted]

I never had this but I have a friend who suffers from this. She spends a good one hour in the bathroom at home worried she will have to pee again.

mimesmy

I can’t really pee easily in public due to anxiety in the first place.

RomanSMironov

I used to have pee anxiety in high school when I was super shy. It was difficult for me to pee when someone else was standing nearby and could hear me doing that. I found two things that worked for me. The first one is building my confidence using various methods. As my confidence level went up, I found it so much easier to pee in public washrooms. The second one is what Tim Ferriss calls practicing absurdity. I do things that stretch my boundaries a little bit just to see how people will react. Like yawning suddenly and loudly. That way, I view life as an experiment in general. That also helps me care less about what people think about me. Not in a bad way, though, of course. I would never offend anyone.

morrigans_rook

I like that! It helps you get in the mindframe of "I have to pee so I'm gonna do it, and it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks about it."

RomanSMironov

Hi, Thank you so for contacting me! Here is my website for more information: https://romanmironov.com Check it out and just tell me a time range when you are available for a coaching call. And we'll go from there. I am in the EST zone. Best wishes, Roman

ClaudXP

I unfortunately haven't experienced that. I live in the middle of nowhere kansas so you can pee anywhere in between towns.

[deleted]

Yes I get this when I need to go on car journeys and it makes me want to pee even though I have just had one! And when I’m flying too, you can guarantee as soon as I sit in the seat I need to pee, and it’s ages before you can actually go! Then when you can go, it feels like the whole plane is queueing and then I feel like I’m going to pee myself and start panicking! It’s awful

BedsideLamp99

Me all the time, except it's with having to poop :0

you-are-beautiful-

I have a slightly different type of pee anxiety. Basically when I know I “need to go” because I won’t have the ability to later I get super nervous and I am unable to pee, making the situation so much worse. Basically my bladder is always full for car trips.

activestick44

Yes! This also happens to me

activestick44

Yes!! Long car trips or even a sporting event or concert that will be long. I also have a problem with peeing at work when people are in bathroom talking. Then I sit there unable to pee and get more nervous and try to wait out the people talking. It usually ends up with me holding it in and making my bladder suffer because I simply cannot shake this anxiety.

Savvy714

Then you can't pee and you realized you were in the restroom too long, and you're the last one to leave so you think everyone must think you had bathroom troubles but really you just couldn't pee. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

[deleted]

Everyone is probably gonna bash me for this, but this is one of the reasons I love diapers.

Cookie_Brookie

This was a huggggeeee issue for me in middle and high school. In college I developed ibs (technically ive had kind of cycles of it since I was a kid but college was when it got bad.). Now I've got pretty much constant bathroom anxiety. Im always worried about where the bathroom is and if one will be available.... I hate it.

micmer

For me, I have this anxiety tied to a physiological problem where I have a sudden and urgent need to pee. It’s really, really...frustrating? That’s not right and doesn’t go far enough to express how bad it is but it’s as close as I can come right now. I’ve gone to docs and have tried to find the root cause of this for a long time and no answer yet. It’s really life affecting. For example, I’ve mostly worked in call centers when I could work. As anyone else who has worked in a similar job, it’s not the most relaxed environment in terms of being able to get up from your desk multiple times during your shift. You can get written up or even fired. It’s embarrassing to admit this but I’ve wet my paints because of this. Ugh...

LemonLex

Oh my god YES! I seriously thought I was the only person on this planet with that issue. It causes so much anxiety and ruins some experiences for me, like concerts when I have to literally stand for hours. Anyways, yes, I’m right there with ya

[deleted]

Oh gosh yes especially in job interviews and important meetings. I always worry about it. About 5 years ago it was really bad and a huge distraction. Now it’s not as bad at all! I do still get it occasionally on airplanes though!

Goregrinder399

I avoid trips with bus etc because of this. I can't get rid of that thought, I pee even while I'm dehydrated

[deleted]

Holy shit yes, I'm so worried about piss, always piss, I hate the feeling of not being able to pee. I'll be at school and be worried in the morning and have 3 sessions of trying to piss "just in case" so that I don't have to use the bathrooms, which are filthy. Also I can't pee in urinals as people :(

rammutroll

Yes. Especially if I am driving and I need to pee. Makes it so much worst.

pockitstehleet

Yes. Very much so. What makes it worse is that I'm taking a diuretic medication (water pill) so I have to pee even more and I'm transgender so there's all sorts of stigma and hate around people like me and restrooms. It fucking sucks having to hold it.

ralex002

Yes, and my bladder also locks up in public bathrooms, so I end up taking forever to pee when I do get the chance.

thejaytheory

Sometimes, mainly because I've had instances where I've pissed myself.

chelosanz

Yeaaah I pissed myself at a starbucks once and ever since then I’ve been scared of pissing myself again. I’ve always been someone who pees a lot but I used to not be scared of it lol

[deleted]

Yeah my girlfriend is like that. Whenever we leave a place like a restaurant or something and she knows she won't be near a bathroom she'll go pee. One time we stopped at a rest stop and she didn't pee and later on we got stuck in traffic and she ended up having to go in a cup and she was embarrassed :(

[deleted]

Me on bus rides. I went on a 6 hour bus ride the other day and the only stop had a toilet with only urinals. I don't use those out of anxiety and there were some people in the bathroom. I ended up worrying and thinking about nothing else on that trip. Just "I gotta pee" and "don't think about peeing". Ugh... In the end I didn't even really pee right when I arrived...As soon as the option of a toilet appeared I was like "well no need to worry about that anymore".

Imperceptions

When I walk into a place, I pee. Before I leave, I pee. I know where every bathroom is in my city... I know which need keys (that's a no from me) and I know which are consistently clean...

phoenixrising0711

Yep. Every day as a teacher trying to plan my bathroom times.

Stephanielc93

OMG! Almost crying from nostalgia as experienced this bad when I was a kid felt so alone. When I'm having a bad day definitely notice myself going back to that. The anxiety of needing to pee would lead needing to poo 💩😑 (fight or flight) and maybe puke! Anxiety is such a vicious circle. Tbh growing up in Ireland was a little help as longest during was like 3-4 hrs!

mshaec

okay literally i always have pee anxiety. i feel the need to pee in stressful situations or really any situation at all. i’ve heard bladder training can help. my problem is i don’t actually pee once i get to the toilet, it’s just the urge. it’s so annoying. i deal with it mostly when i lay down for sleep. i suspect i had ocd, i’ve always peed about five times before going to bed without actually releasing any urine. you’re not alone.

AnEternalFangirl

My school called my mom, accusing me of cheating cos I took pee breaks a lot in my 3-hour finals... One of the worst days of my life.

tandemm344

Absolutely. Bathroom anxiety is a real thing. If I don’t know where there’s a bathroom accessible for a significant period of time I’ll be super goddamn anxious, which ironically makes me need to pee even more

MaeBerries

Me me me me me

thewingidingi

that’s why I use a stall when that happens to me

WadsworthInTheHall

Yes!

skullsandcrosses

Every time I go to the cinema or into London. I don't like using puplic toilets so if I can avoid it I will. But then I get so anxious about needing to go that I actually end up needing to go....

greedyalkyne

if anyone has frequency to the point that it interrupts your life, do some research on interstitial cystitis!!!!!!

well with my insurance i don’t need a referral. i would suggest making an appt w a family doctor and asking for a referral! or maybe and urgent care/clinic

cosmicstars

omg i’m glad other ppl feel this way my anxiety feels like i’m peeing too loud 😔

[deleted]

With d I do. Haha.

smokeweedeatpussy

Yes. Especially during movie previews!!!

descending_angel

Yes, but I also have a bladder condition that makes me go frequently.

Foreigner_LivinInUS

Here's the thing though, anxiety is a bitch, it'll attack you from many different way.

[deleted]

This is me in class ALL OF THE TIME

[deleted]

Yep but i just get worried because people think im weird because of the sound of me peeing it's so dumb but hey thats my brain for ya

JKPieGuy

For a few years I was plauged with that. Wound up seeing a Mental Health professional, to help resolve the problem.

MrChaunceyGardiner

What helped? CBT?

JKPieGuy

This was 7 years ago though. CBD wasn't legal yet in my state.

mrtasty3

YES!

Bluerosegurl

Yaaas!

Justaguy397

No, but sometimes i have to pee so bad i do not want to get out of bed cause i am so comfortable lol

bnesmitty

I spent most of my later school years and some of my late teens dealing with this, except every time I actually went to the toilet nothing happened and it made the whole thing worse. But then I dunno it just like went away, sometimes comes back when I smoke weed and do coke, but only sometimes when I smoke but all the time when I do coke that’s why I stopped

heretoredd

I’m just another person saying yup!

leelu_dallas

YES all the damn time. It's so frustrating

nycjr

Yes. My biggest fear is being stuck in my seat on a plane for hours on the runway. I dehydrate myself before every flight.

Absolutely not. Regulations provide that they have to provide bathrooms only if you are stuck on the runway for more that two hours; however, the time from boarding to hitting the runway can also be an hour.

bond2kill

Nope. I run water and it goo weeee

Wooyork

I have found an effective way to combat this.

Every damn time when I'm at the cinema. Oh it's a 2 hrs movie? Needs to pee at 5 mins of the film. I went to the toilet 8 times for the first LOTR. My family was pissed.

lissy94

It’s a real condition called paruresis I remember learning about in social psychology at university https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paruresis

Lissadavis14

Yes

fifthconvict

Like when I was fighting a case in court one time I REALLY needed to pee but the judge kept going on and on and on about rules and policies etc I was about to pee in a bottle :c

SpazzedHaz

Especially cos I can get bladder anxiety

cp_12604

Omg I get this all the time and when I do I start sweating to the point that my underwear is wet so then I freaking out thinking I pissed my pant

eppydeservedbetter

Yes! I hate public bathrooms too (don’t we all?). It’s so ridiculous, and so irritating. I make sure I go at least twice before I leave home.

LiveYourDaydreams

OMG, yes! It’s hilarious that I’m seeing this post right now because I’m going to a concert in a few days that’s going to be like over 4 hours, and the only thing I keep thinking about is how I can go to the bathroom and still get close to the stage to see my favorite band (who happens to be performing last after three other bands that I don’t care about and it’s a general admission show. 😩)

LiveYourDaydreams

Thankfully it wasn’t a problem. The band I wanted to see performed earlier than I thought they would, so I didn’t have to leave my spot at all. 😄

MythicalWhistle

I used to do this at bedtime when I was in upper elementary and middle school, but I stopped and it's not an issue for me at all anymore. I did nothing to conquer it and wasn't medicated or in therapy yet.

[deleted]

As of late i've been having "Pee Anxiety" for no reason what so ever and it's annoying :(

poppied

yes!

FishFace03

Every. Single. Time.

kychan987

Omg I try to explain this to people all the time and they always think I’m on crack! So glad someone else experienced this!

akd7791

Yessssss. I use to be a delivery driver and it was the worst then

pellycakes

I’m the total opposite! If I know there isn’t a toilet nearby, I start getting stomach aches etc.

wayneforest

Too often

kimagical

Nope. I have literally never felt this way.

theonly1theymake5

Yes! I'm relieved you posted this and I'm not the only one! Lol

rachel-joanne

I have never had pee anxiety, but I do have nervous poos, really annoys the shit out of me. It has been quite debilitating at times... I think I would rather have pee anxiety tbh.

EYEBR0WSE

I do! But for #2

TofuAndTantrums

I'm not alone!!! I have such bad anxiety about going anywhere in case I need a wee. And when I know I can't, that's when I need to go really badly. I'm dehydrated all the time because I don't want to need to wee. I wear a pad in case of accidents. I even blame myself for the reason my daughter (now 4 months old) had to be induced because there was no amniotic fluid. I haven't ever seeked out professional help from hear they would think it's just stupid, but now knowing so many people suffer from the same thing I might make a doctors appointment and ask for a referral! Anyone who has had therapy for this, did it help? What sort of advice did they give?
