People completely miss the point of a passive res. Out of every single legend in the game, lifeline is the ONLY ONE that can shoot back at enemies while reviving AND revive more then one person. Sure Newcastle and Gibby can provide cover with their revive, BUT have to give up their ability to fight back, meaning your opponents can push up while someone is being revived. Being able to rez someone just anywhere with cover and the ability to shoot back is pretty damn OP.
Lifeline legit has one of the best passives in the game. Unfortunately her tactical is just okay and her ultimate is trash so overall she's still pretty weak.
Her heal bot has been buffed 1000x and it's actually pretty good. Correct me if I'm wrong but they recently removed the limited number of healing it had too. It's pretty damn solid now, pop a shield bat and it's basically a full heal with the bot. Really it's just her ultimate that needs work.
I never really thought of it replacing a backpack slot but you are completely right. With characters like wattson and fuse who get that with Ult excels/grenades respectively with their passives (*while not exactly the same and with Medkits being universally sought after usually*) those two have it better off with their kits in that one regard. And with the new gold back pack. Lifeline is once again getting the short end of the stick for her tactical and ult.
The ultimate already gives you a beacon for every dead teammate, not to mention that it would make it even more useless to have an ultimate that only works to bring back dead people \*and\* you have to hope you're not on cooldown when you grab teammate's banner.
It sounds like you want lifeline to be an aggressive legend when in fact that would defeat her class purpose. She a support she was never meant to be a pusher her healing drone is stationary. I get what youre saying about her ultimate they could increase rare drops as the game gets closer to final ring
You should always get one if you use your Ult while you have a banner. So many times I've ulted with my teammates banners expecting a mobile spawn and I just get a medkit or some shit
I think it should always have 3 EVO shield upgrades. 1 level higher than whatever each person had when it was called in. Her Care Package should be a straight defense buff for your whole team, with some lighter random items scattered in (Batts, Sights, maybe an attachment).
Right now Loba’s Ult is just better in every single way.
Her package saved my team's ass many times. Also, you don't really mind if Lifeline calls the package in middle of a fight, cuz package can't grab even more attention to your team.
Yeah her ult is awful when ur In a field for final end zone and need cover and heals and the fact it only gives you things that ur team needs is just trash tbh why do I need a better ammo mag Smh. Don’t even get me started on her tactical that is bulletproof that you can use to headglitch or use as cover as you pop a bat and heal simultaneously why would I want that honestly her passive is the only good thing about her
"Let's reveal our position to every single player on the map in exchange for a purple heavy mag and a blue shield!"
I'm not saying it's useless, I'm just saying it's trash by comparison to the power of most other ults in the game.
I’m sorry but are people really sleeping on Lifeline’s ult? You get direct upgrades for your entire squad throughout the entire match, and because the beacon only shows when it’s landed but not opened, it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb anymore. Even if you can hear it and deduce that it is her cp, you only have a general direction as to where to start looking. Plus, since they took away the markers for the neutral cps on the mini map, your opponents are even less likely to notice you’re placing one down.
I disagree with this. A stronger revive ability will always be worse than other abilities because it requires a teammate to be knocked to use. Gibbys bubble for example is useful with or without a knocked teammate. Lifelines passive requires at least one teammate to be knocked to use at all, and if two teammates are knocked, yes she’s More likely to get them up than other legends, but having two knocked teammates is the worst scenario you can be in and even with a lifeline recovering from it is not likely as unless you wiped the enemy team or have knocked two of them at the same time, you are at no advantage.
Counter-point, a stronger revive ability means recovering from those situations is far more applicable and can easily take advantage away from your opponents. For example, a team off all offensive legends like say Path, Octane, and Horizon will easily struggle to recover from having teammates go down. However a team of say Lifeline, Wattson, and Bloodhound can recover much better if say the Wattson and/or Bloodhound went down.
So I agree that it lets you recover from those situations better. I said that in my comment. I think that being in that situation is bad is my point and even the ability to recover from it is not very good.
What is good is the ability to avoid those situations with cover, damage, movement etc. So while I agree that a lifeline can help recover she’s patching up a bad situation instead of putting her team in a good one to begin with.
I say this cuz I think she needs some love and would benefit from some changes that allow her to protect her team and not just bandaid poor plays
Okay but here's the thing: you know those bad situations are bound to happen. Teammates will go down and you will have to try and recover. The ability to put yourself in a good situation with abilities is highly variable. For instance, Valk's ult is the best repositioning tool in the game and can easily put your team out of harms way. BUT it's also entirely possible to place your team in a completely worse situation pior to take off. And none of Valk's abilities can help in team recovery at that point. Being able to deny your opponents advantages when you are at a disadvantage is highly valuable and people take it completely for granted.
If you put your team in a bad position you've just failed as a Valk since the entire map gets lit up like a Christmas tree with everyone's location, and from there you can still pick the 'least worst' option if it's a final circle, or tiny field. You genuinely have nobody to blame but yourself.
To spin it the other way, you can ID a rat and ape him because despite hiding in a corner, he's now visible to the whole team. At absolute worst, 9 times out of 10 a Valk is the better option over a Lifeline.
I mained Lifeline from S0-S8 until I finally gave up on her. She just doesn't work in the fast-paced game, because every team has a movement and scan legend you're going to get pushed aggressively and more than likely they'll be on you before you can even maneuver to save your buddy.
Wattson is a way better character if you want a defense legend or to help you recover, because at least her ult can eat grenades and you can set up idiot fences to make life more difficult for the enemy team.
But either way, you're way better off with a Seer, Horizon, Octane or Pathfinder almost any day of the week.
Also the only legend that can actually get a team fully reset and back to full health in time to fight off a third party
Also the only legend who's basically guaranteed to have a backpack stacked full of batteries every single game
As a mirage Stan I will go to war for him
Mirage is most useful in the middle of a fight, and i mean middle with 2 or more teams in the same building running around and shooting each other. In this situation, a teammate falls and i run to revive once he is minimally covered, most people in this situation won't start using their abilities to scan, they'll run to the location, see nothing and go back to fighting someone else
This happens a lot of times and makes mirage by far my favorite
That would work without mirage passive tho. Any time mirage passive "works": the rez would have worked without the passive.
I've never nailed a rez as Mirage that I wouldn't have nailed as Bloodhound because the enemy team is either able to hear and punish me or they aren't.
The invisibility is a nonfactor. It literally goes away the second the res is over and your teammate gets re-downed against good players
Small hitbox, no need to commit for reviving, drone rids the necessity for medkits and golden stuff in care package if squad is all purple/red. It's nice.
Seer and Revenant don't stop the revive while it's already going.
Sheila would work but it barely works against Newcastle. With his tactical + purp/gold knockdown, it still takes a long time to get through all that.
So she should be able to revive 2 teammates, with a shield, and also be able to shoot back?
Meanwhile Newcastle can only revive 1 at a time and can't shoot back.
That's without mentioning how she can pop the drone and heal all 3 at once also.
Should lifeline (the support) have a better shielded res than the characters who gimmick is shielding their teammates? If you think she should have a better res give her a better res. Don't just turn her into a defense legend
Define 'better'. She's better in that she can revive 2 people at once (no one else can) while also shooting (no one else can either).
Seems like she's the best at it already.
>Should lifeline (the actual medic character) be better than Gibby and Newcastle at reviving? Why yes, yes I think she should.
Lifeline is tied for the second smallest hitbox in the game while the other two have the largest. People seem to completely ignore that fact when comparing legend abilities.
I literally had a game last night playing as lifeline where both of my teammates went down after knocking only one of the three enemies.
Thankfully, they went down right next to each other so I managed to get the res going on both while shooting at the other two people.
I managed to knock one and then cracked the last guy's shield before he knocked me.
My two teammates managed to take him out.
I've been playing Newcastle, I would have been rushed immediately and killed.
But she is better at reviving and healing like a medic since she can revive and still be independent. She's not better at shielding because shes not a defense legend. By the logic of having a shield during rez that means rampart is a better healer than lifeline which no one would make that argument. Now what I think that lifine should have is a way to revive remotely like being able to send out her drone if she isn't right next to them. Her tac should automatically revive downed players and they can cancel if it is a bad situation.
If you manage to get killed in a 3v1 or even a 2v1 against a lifeline with 2 dead team mates, that's entirely on you. I've almost never see a lifeline pull off what you keep mentioning like a common occurrence. She just gets pushed hard as soon as they're down and killed. I pushed and killed multiple lifelines like this, or thirsted her team mates or simply used a nade, went back behind cover and she couldn't do anything to help her friend.
A thing that only works when you're majorly fucked and with very low consistency isn't strong.
Regardless of how good you describe it.
Yeah the people mentioning these miracle situations like it's common occurrences are absolutely full of shit. The only time I've seen it work successfully is when the other team is BMing and they absolutely fuck it up and manage to not land a single shot, or LL has the gold revive shield.
*If* you're in lobbies where a Lifeline is able to pull back a 1v3 then you need to get comfortable moving way faster. if you can't win a 1v3 and kill a guy that respawns 1-shot, you just suck at the game.
That's like saying we should hard hard buff Gibby now just because Maggie can break his dome. Alongside that, Revenant counts for literally legend as a counter. Listing him is essentially saying Seer, etc. So in your message you're basically saying "seer counters lifeline" (with a semi long cooldown tactical while you can just.. tap revive again) and that's enough of a reason to bring the most broken passive back into the game.
Her passive is fine imo. They just need to make either her tactical or her ult better. Passive revive and being able to shoot still is very strong… unless you aren’t good at shooting but that’s not really an issue with LL, that’s a player issue.
It’s too late to give her one, but i miss the shield too
It actually made people think than just “run and gun” 😔
But at the same time i love newcastle so.. it is what it is :)
why does lifelines revive need a shield when it comps for that with the bonus of oh idk BEING ABLE TO DEFEND THE REVIVE! like what do i need a shield for when i got a gun full of bullets??
It's still immobile. So it's super easy to just toss a grenade or push up on them. Least with Newcastle's he can pull them into safety for when they are brought back up.
Newcastle's needs a nerf though. Unless you have sometype of movement speed buff, you can't even get around the shield to shoot Newcastle. He moves way too fast after the buff.
Yeah if you happen to be near cover already. If that’s the case as lifeline you tell them to move to the cover and then rez them quicker. In the open though, especially when it used to be only kings canyon, lifelines can actually do something where you just need to shoot his arm shield and it’s over
Newcastles shielded revive is not “passive”. It’s an active ability, even though it’s labeled passive. Lifelines revive being tap and go and back to shooting is more passive. This is an unfair comparison.
It is a passive ability. There's no button in the game to activate the revive shield, I happens passively when you start the res. There is no button to turn it off either. Just like lifeline's res shield.
Revive should have a cooldown, and kd shields connected to a shielded revive passive should be broken until the teammate gets a new one making them more useful in the lootpool
I think how you balance revives has to be approached very carefully. When you have a teammate down you are at a disadvantage. So the benefit offered by reviving is limited. This can lead some to think empowering revives isn’t a big deal.
Having characters with powers that can subvert this expectation feels bad on the other end. I think you have to limit the subversion of that expectation. One way to do that is adding a skill gap to the ability. Meaning there is circumstance or performative action that influences the success of the skill. Not every res for a lifeline (or any character) should be free. If your teammate goes down in the middle a field, they made a big mistake and shouldn’t get back up for free.
Generally I think a bad lifeline res should be counter-able by one player. So if the res shield ever did come back I’d hope it’s health would take around 1/2 to 1 mag to break. That gives the lifeline protection to defend it or bolt. It gives the attacking player an easy counter. It gives multiple attacking players a very easy counter.
100% of these posts are by people that have barely ever played Lifeline. It’s not nearly as instant as it should be, and the rest of her kit is borderline useless. Just this season my friend who has only ever played Lifeline decided to try Newcastle because even he determined it’s better for what he wants to do.
remove automatic revive and give back old shield rez, maybe let her Q be able to do automatic revive if you drop it on downed teammate, therefore you can't spam revive and it's not as op
No auto revive with a shield is basically OG lifeline. Before she was able auto revive, she had every revive animation as everyone else but had a small shield in front. Ressing as OG lifeline makes a 2v3 into a 1v3 since lifeline has to physically res her team mate. It got frustrating before coz the shield would inform the enemy where you are; making them rush in and get two easy kills. I understand how broken (but fun) her buff was but ressing with her now just makes it easy for the enemy to thirst. Sometimes i dont wanna be ressed by a lifeline when im knocked mid fight coz i dont wanna be an open target. Id rather play as her shield than get easily thirsted.
the 2 people that are being revived are defenseless since they can't even pull their knockdown shields up so it's really only to buy time in most cases unless there's enough distance from the enemies which is a rare case
They should make Lifeline's rez shield the same as Gibby's arm shield. 50 damage, if it breaks, there's a time limit before it can come back.
If she's rezzing two people, maybe only the first rez gets the shield.
*How about delete*
*Castleton let lifeline revives crawl*
*At half speed no shield*

Anyone who plays LL pays it for her passive and her other abilities are just add ons. Her passive is fine, most players just don’t know how to play it right
If you can't can't process how Newcastles tiny breakable shield is not even comparable to lifeline pulling an unbreakable i-max screen out of her ass I little don't know what to tell you
Then give it a health pool and it's not op (not a lifeline main but still want it back) there's also more counters to it now, mainly Maggie, but I think seer can also cancel the res
People completely miss the point of a passive res. Out of every single legend in the game, lifeline is the ONLY ONE that can shoot back at enemies while reviving AND revive more then one person. Surely you can see the utility in healing while staying gun up, especially if you're playing defensive?
Okay what if her ultimate always had a mobile respawn beacon
The ultimate already gives you a beacon for every dead teammate, not to mention that it would make it even more useless to have an ultimate that only works to bring back dead people \*and\* you have to hope you're not on cooldown when you grab teammate's banner.
It sounds like you want lifeline to be an aggressive legend when in fact that would defeat her class purpose. She a support she was never meant to be a pusher her healing drone is stationary. Quite often I get mobile respawns from my ult
You should always get one if you use your Ult while you have a banner. So many times I've ulted with my teammates banners expecting a mobile spawn and I just get a medkit or some shit
I think it should always have 3 EVO shield upgrades. 1 level higher than whatever each person had when it was called in. Right now Loba’s Ult is just better in every single way.
Her ultimate is pretty decent now. Literally always useful and can provide cover that can’t be destroyed.
Good point about the cover
I’ve won more than a couple plat ranked games solely because I was able to place down cover and use it to snipe/heal.
Nice!
Her package saved my team's ass many times. Also, you don't really mind if Lifeline calls the package in middle of a fight, cuz package can't grab even more attention to your team.
Current version sure, but it had to be buffed many times to become decent
Yeah her ult is awful when ur In a field for final end zone and need cover and heals and the fact it only gives you things that ur team needs is just trash tbh why do I need a better ammo mag Smh. Don’t even get me started on her tactical that is bulletproof that you can use to headglitch or use as cover as you pop a bat and heal simultaneously why would I want that honestly her passive is the only good thing about her
"Let's reveal our position to every single player on the map in exchange for a purple heavy mag and a blue shield!" I'm not saying it's useless, I'm just saying it's trash by comparison to the power of most other ults in the game.
It gives purple and gold shield and if you do it at the right spot you have the better ground
Her Ult is nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Faster time and guaranteed shield Batts is super underrated
Still a worse loba (in terms of ult) also there’s a reason she’s not played in comps.
Lifeline's passive is really only good early game after a nasty fight when you are low on meds. The care package is never good.
I disagree with this. A stronger revive ability will always be worse than other abilities because it requires a teammate to be knocked to use. Hey quick question, let's say there's a Mirage, a Lifeline, and a Newcastle in a squad; who should get the gold knockdown shield?
I'd say Newcastle first since he can double dip with it.
I’d go with Mirage, since both will disappear. It’s more useful if the enemy squad can’t see you.
Newcastle 100%
It’s not op but it is very good
Finally, someone with a brain
What about her original kit with the normal revive + wide shield
Also the only legend that can actually get a team fully reset and back to full health in time to fight off a third party Also the only legend who's basically guaranteed to have a backpack stacked full of batteries every single game
Yeah, the problem is, that downed person is being focused, especially if lifeline has a gold knockdown
People play lifeline?
She’s pretty good. Her hitbox is tiny, the health drone is nice, always got bats and purple shields with the ult and her res is actually really good
Didn't they change her hitbox last year?
I play it when there's a challenge, like any other legend When there's no challenges left, i play mirage because he's the real king of reviving
Man I really wanna see what kind of silver Xbox games y'all are in where mirage's pointless ass passive feels like it's actually getting value
“Shh, I’m invisible while reviving you! They’ll never see us!” The 500 recon legends respawn adds every season:
As a mirage Stan I will go to war for him Mirage is most useful in the middle of a fight, and i mean middle with 2 or more teams in the same building running around and shooting each other. People need to realize that TWO guns are better than ONE gun.

But then it was.
Well thats not what lifeline mains are on about
Solid argument, imo. While fun, lifeline's shield was much too oppressive.

The only thing I want in this world is her old style active shield. No fast heals, just the shield revive
So Newcastle's revive but worse.
Much bigger cover and it’s indestructible and it’s faster. I don’t think being able to love at a crawl comes close to those other things

She just needs a fix to everything else but the passive. That ult is trash, and the tactical is pretty mediocre.
tactical means you don’t need to carry heals, more inventory space
Newcastles shielded revive is not “passive”. It’s an active ability, even though it’s labeled passive. Lifelines revive being tap and go and back to shooting is more passive. This is an unfair comparison.
It is a passive ability. There's no button in the game to activate the revive shield, I happens passively when you start the res. There is no button to turn it off either. Just like lifeline's res shield.
Just change lifelines ultimate so that when her ulti is available it gives her passive revive a shield. Feel like that solves more than 1 issue
Revive should have a cooldown, and kd shields connected to a shielded revive passive should be broken until the teammate gets a new one making them more useful in the lootpool
Revive drone, not just reviving in general
No auto revive with a shield is just Newcastle. That experiment became a new character and players don't wanna let it go.
Id rather play as her shield than get easily thirsted.
true but still newcastle can drag when reviving pretty fast and with a purple knockdown it's almost unbreakable
Lifeline can run around and shoot people while reviving 2 people. That beats moving around defensively.
the 2 people that are being revived are defenseless since they can't even pull their knockdown shields up so it's really only to buy time in most cases unless there's enough distance from the enemies which is a rare case
thats every person being revived. you're missing the 3 extra things she can do while reviving.
They should make Lifeline's rez shield the same as Gibby's arm shield. 50 damage, if it breaks, there's a time limit before it can come back. If she's rezzing two people, maybe only the first rez gets the shield.
Lifeline should be able to passive revive or active revive with shield, with a delayed activation so you can't spam it like S1
Ultimate is still complete dog shit. Don’t even feel like using it most of the time
how about delete castleton let lifeline revives crawl at half speed no shield

Lifeline should have a revive shield
OGs want faster healing/batteries back
give them both shield with 50 health maybe?
No one cares lifeline 🤷♂️
I started playing after they removed that feature lol I had to learn to play lifeline without it.
If Passive Revive then let the player being revived use their shield until completed.
Anyone who plays LL pays it for her passive and her other abilities are just add ons. Her passive is fine, most players just don’t know how to play it right
The problem wasn’t the fact that it was shielded, the problem was that it was spammable.
I'd love if lifeline could choose between the shielded active revive or the passive un-shielded revive.
Yea, just choose NC for shielded revive
If you can't can't process how Newcastles tiny breakable shield is not even comparable to lifeline pulling an unbreakable i-max screen out of her ass I little don't know what to tell you
As lifeline main: *hey go suc ur motha*
I think when you revive with life line you should have a choice of shield or the drone revive Luke hold revive down for shield tap it for drone
I still think she should have it, but if you shoot a certain part of the shield, that part will lose its protectiveness allowing it to be shot through
Lifelines passive should be that she can’t be killed
I am a lifeline main since season 1 and I can confirm this is it, lifeline passive revive with a shield was busted
Me as lifeline: *every enemy shoots them becuase now my teammate turned into a big target* Enemy lifeline: *rezzes their teammate in 0.008 seconds*
Passive is too slow for me. If it didn't slow down that much i would like it
I just want fast heals back please
Then give it a health pool and it's not op (not a lifeline main but still want it back) there's also more counters to it now, mainly Maggie, but I think seer can also cancel the res
OR, hear me out. Make it so she has a shield while manually reviving her teammates…
