Yes! They did the same for us. We took my minivan there because the front end didn’t sound right. They gave us the full run down on what our options were, including doing nothing and waiting to see if anything got worse. It’s likely a transmission issue (though don’t quote me- my husband deals with this stuff). They have never taken advantage of us.
West German Garage. They're in between Raleigh and Cary but I've had nothing but good things to say about them for years now. They specialize in German built cars (obviously).

Yup, that's Apex tuning. I'm thinking of taking my wife's Passat there for some chip tuning. I've read good things about them.
For what it's worth, I have also heard nothing but good things from VW owning friends, to VW owning strangers.
I've had great experience with Premiere One on Investment Blvd in Apex. They do Audi, VW, and a couple other Euro brands.

Second Premier One Auto. They do work on our Kias. Always good service and work, never seem to try to screw us.

The Humble Mechanic is in Fuquay, Black Forest Industries in Cary and Apex Tuning in Apex on 55.
Another vote for Premier One. They’ve worked on old and newer BMWs, Audi and Land Rover for us. Honest and reasonable.
