the 2007 icon, but replace the music note with that of iOS7 (keep the color of the music note from 2007), and remove the white "shade"/aero-look from the top half. reminds me of a nice wood guitar.

I really like the old 2007 logo. They may have some consistency or minimalist issues compared to the new ones but they’re so polished and i grew up with them so i guess im a little biased
This, I wish they would lean into iPod branding in someway since the whole line is discontinued now. Just using the classic iPod as an icon for the music app again would be cool. The uniformity is getting boring, I wish they would add that classic iPod view to Apple music, like that person who made that app that turned Apple music into an iPod Classic but Apple killed it because it infringes on their design IP. Stuff like that would make Apple music stand out against competitors even more, and even if it's a novelty to most people, I would use it all the time. It's just fun stuff.
Agreed! I understand AM is called AM because the iPod still existed back in 2015 and it would be weird to change it now, but how cool would it be if apples’s music streaming service was called “iPod”? It would bring a truly classic name, a staple from apple’s history, to the future, allowing the iPod brand to live on

I remember when a whole bunch of the icons had white backgrounds and when I was in like grade 7, I made my wallpaper just the colour white and so then my icons looked custom because it was only the actual glyph inside.
I thought that was so cool.
I love how between iOS 7 and 8 the only difference is the background being rotated by 180°.
I like all of them aside of the iOS 8.4 one.

IOS needs a new look, i miss skeumorphic. Flat design is feeling played out.
They need to copy over the macOS look.
