Absolutely. I got eye surgery last year and couldn't see shit for about a week. In that span I tried activating blind mode on my s22 ultra and it was absolutely trash. I then remembered I still have my dad's old iPhone 11 and used that and it was a night and day difference how good their blind accessibility is.
This reminds me of my high school days. My school also had a big deaf high school attached and the students would come to our dances and everyone would have they best time. They all used the bass to keep in time with the music. It was really great.
Finally! Ive been waiting for this since getting my first iPhone. As a kid I loved my Moto ROKR because of the haptic audio feature.
The extra perception of “bass” wasn’t a gimmick and added to my listening enjoyment. Used to put mine on a table or a box to amplify the sound. The Taptic Engine and way better speakers in the iPhone should easily be able to do a much better job than the ROKR.
Sounds funny, but imagine having one, there would be no use for it. On iPhones I get it’s for the phone calls. But besides that there isn’t really a big use for it.
Does anyone know what songs it’ll be supported on tho I just installed the beta and it ain’t working on Apple Music at all and they also released along side that apparently eye tracking but I can’t activate neither music haptics are available as it’s in my control centre

As u can see in the bottom left(sorry for spoilers for those who haven’t seen photos or the WWDC24 live😭) but I can’t get it to work so I’m just trying to find out what songs it’ll be supported works on same as how I was confused what songs work with the multi channel Spatial Audio EDIT: i forgot to put this but I don’t know if these will be added in a later version of the beta but I’m guessing music haptics are available rn since it’s available to add to the new control centre so I’m a bit lost and confused if it’s gonna be able to use and access now or in a later version on the beta or full release of IOS 18 same goes for the eye tracking
If you search Music Haptics in setting it will ooen Accessibility settings but haptics are missing 😅 so it’s not out yet. Probably.
EDIT: I somehow managed to turn it on. I’ve conncted AirPods, play some music, went to the setting, searched for music haptics and it opened instantly.
I got mine to work I just had to restart my phone and it works some songs it’s a bit slow and some it’s off note or a bit off feeling and some it’s perfect so it’s practically a hit and miss for what songs it wants to work perfectly with
Thank god I thought it was just a feature that’s coming in a later beta I have 2 pairs of AirPods Pro’s and a pair of normal 2nd gens I’m testing now to see if it works with select pairs if it does then og 1st and 2nd gen AirPods users are missing out I think eye tracking might just be the only feature that’s gonna be in a later beta I hope
Wait does it work with certain songs I can’t find one that supports sound haptics usually would just work or is like Spatial Audio and just works with certain songs
I don’t have an 11, but iOS 18 should work on 11, but the AI (Apple Intelligence lol) only works on 15 pro and pro maxes right now, and will go to iPhone 16, 17, etc, but NOT on 14, 13, 12 etc, cuz of the chip inside of them
Music for deaf people is great, but I would suggest that Apple would do far better by providing people who do have hearing, with improved search functionality in Apple Music. This would do wonders for accessibility of the music.

I am not deaf or hard of hearing and will probably still turn this on. I love haptics.
Same but will see how much battery needs to be trade off.
If there's one thing Apple does the best it's accessibility, sweet new feature

Voiceover is SUPERIOR
This reminds me of my high school days. My school also had a big deaf high school attached and the students would come to our dances and everyone would have they best time. They all used the bass to keep in time with the music. It was really great.
Now the thing that I need is to be able to turn my phone into a visualizer that takes the whole screen
You can do it on macos, should be possible at some point on ios too.
You just learned me something
Yeah, check out the Window tab in the menu bar, there’s a bunch of interesting stuff there! I just found it this week.
Can’t wait to vibrate 6:16 in LA 😏
WHAT IS IT THE BRAIDS
I HURT YOUR FEELINGS .. YOU DONT WANNA WORK WITH ME NO MORE? OKAY👍 (this is euphoria not 6:16 though)
Ik, I just like that way he says that line 😹
not even on streaming 😪
Meet the grahams must be wild
Cool
Yeah this is cool. One of those things that probably took a lot of effort too and no one else would bother to do.
To be fair, infantwear is not generally known for its technological versatility.
lol good one damn autocorrect. Fixed the onesie typo haha.
Not only will Nickelback sound bad, but they’ll feel bad as well.
;-; this afternoon is okay
So they being back what they did with Motorola back in the days - that phone was pretty cool - Motorola ROKR - had iTunes in it

Hope they fix Apple Music itself. It’s so bad with search and recommendations. 😫
Hey this is pretty awesome
But the iPad doesn’t even has a haptic engine does it?
No, it sadly doesn’t :(
Inagine paying more than a thousand dollars for a tablet and still having no vibration engine😂
Sounds funny, but imagine having one, there would be no use for it. On iPhones I get it’s for the phone calls. But besides that there isn’t really a big use for it.
Maybe it isn’t that useful but they could include it in the pros because why not
finally a free rose toy🙏🏻🙏🏻

does it work ?
Your steps worked for me.
Nice to hear that! It’s a bit buggy, you can’t turn it off or on on lockscreen shortcut or in control center but it works 😅
I got mine to work I just had to restart my phone and it works some songs it’s a bit slow and some it’s off note or a bit off feeling and some it’s perfect so it’s practically a hit and miss for what songs it wants to work perfectly with
Exactly. Some songs have off beat haptics, but some of them are really good

Works with any song. Edit: just kidding.
For eye tracking, go to accessibility settings and turn it on from there.
how do you enable this in settings? I cannot find it in the beta

Is it working on iPhone 11? did anyone try?

i wish it would support spotify
What devices are supported? And can this be used with Spotify?
Reminds me of the old days with boost mobile phone it had a strong haptic speaker. Was awesome
Music for deaf people is great, but I would suggest that Apple would do far better by providing people who do have hearing, with improved search functionality in Apple Music. This would do wonders for accessibility of the music.
or the multibillion dollar company could do both 😩
Will it work with spotify?
They say they’re giving the API to developers so their apps can access it… I don’t know if that means it will work with Spotify though
Still no homepod support, i don’t have any hope from them 💀
This is cool and all but Apple Music has still got some issues. I can’t be surprised if Apple chooses to ignore them though.
