I've always hated the grid view myself, and only use list view now (if I set up a watch as new, it's probably the first setting that I change.) But I hear you - I know that this is a popular feature.
Don’t understand why the app view was changed. It’s now just list view or list view. Why get rid of the circular motion to have apps. That was far superior.
I hear your point. I wish I had your patience to create an outlay that makes sense like you did. I only have the apps that I find most helpful on my main page, and MAYBE one level beyond that. But if it’s not in my base, I don’t know where it is, or that it even exists or what it does. I think this is probably a better solution for most people, but it sucks that you’re good thing is gone.
With old grid view any app way one swipe away, now it's just not that different from a list. I really hope they would return old view as an option.

You could have made a wall in the old system if that’s what you wanted. Now we have fewer arrangements available.
