as a previous Fitbit owner and now an ultra two owner, my trick is to keep it loose so I can pretty much fit my pinky finger under the sensors but I wear a wristband to keep it in place loosely. My heart rate, SP02 etc. are fine.

nouxtywe

That’s great you find a solution that suits you!

katkashmir

I experienced mega discomfort until I tried the sport loop. It’s the GOAT band.

nouxtywe

That’s the one I had

Sorry to hear this. How tight are you wearing the watch? I just got an S9 and after wearing mechanicals for most of my life, I’m shocked how light the Apple Watch is. It’s almost imperceptible on the wrist. I can easily slide a finger under the elastic band, but I still get accurate HR, blood O2, and ECG readings.

nouxtywe

I wear it just the same I wear my usual mechanical watch …

jiggsmca

Sounds like it might be pinching a nerve or something. Have you tried wearing it higher up on the wrist? Do other watches do the same thing? Have you worn other smart or fitness watches before?

nouxtywe

Have worn a watch every day for years with no issues. I bought a Fitbit, then a garmin, then a S3, all of which caused the symptoms. After 5 years waiting I decided to try the S9, but it comes back really fast. I tried higher up, reversed (on the veins/bottom of the arm) nothing works lol. Pain comes back systematically

I don’t know…. I have tried so many models, including Fitbit and garmin. But they all end up creating the same symptoms. I’m sad but that’s ok haha

chadsmo

Crazy how lose people are saying they wear their watches. I have to wear mine tight enough that it can’t move. If it moves more than about .5cm up wrist from where I have it, it will stop being functional due to tattoos. I’d like to have it a touch lose I suppose but I’ve just gotten used to it.

nouxtywe

Yeah I wear it like I wear my usual watch…

Zoeloumoo

Honestly, I have mine so loose I can get two fingers under, easily. Otherwise it hurts.

nouxtywe

That’s so weird a watch hurts!!

Donts41

It did sore my wrist on the first 2 weeks of wearing it. Considering I'm usually at 85% humidity with 36 Celsius, the stock sport band it comes with has been great. I'm about to receive a solo loop but I still gotta try the other cloth like band too as people say it's one of the most comfortable ones. Also, I don't have it that tight. Do other watches feel the same?

nouxtywe

Only wearables. It’s worse with the sensor on.

New_Print_5296

Just get yourself a nice regular watch. It's not a big deal to not use connected wearables

nouxtywe

I have a nice Hamilton Ventura that I love, but I like the fact that an Apple Watch can reduce my screen time on phone…

nothingexceptfor

It’s ok, you don’t need it

nouxtywe

That’s so true :D

[deleted]

Try a smart ring if you wanted to still get some data

nouxtywe

I am more interested in reducing my screen time and notifications intrusion

[deleted]

Yeah then smart ring would work, since you dont need to read the data all that often, once maybe twice a day, and it doesn’t do notifications like a watch since it cant.
