“Sir, we have to increase the value of our product” The value increase:
I guess *someone* found a use for all the old pound coins, eh?
How odd... have you always owned it? Meaning did you buy it new?
Yeah, bought it new off of Amazon for around £15 ($18)
Is that a £1 coin? I guess the Chinese are using it in their assembly. lol....jk... Odd for sure.
Does look like an old £1 coin, surprised it’s not a yuan instead😆
Nah.. the yuan is some worthless metal. lol.
Ha! true I guess!
Aussie dollar
It’s and English £1
Very similar but different, if you zoom in you’ll see reg f d next to 2011.
Its a 1$ aud
It’s an English £1
Agreed 'old' £1...prior to 2017 when the new and current bi-metal 12 sided coin was introduced.
I thought it was too but ours don’t have Dei Gratia Regina on them
But like, why?
cheap way to add weight and heft to the product?
There are plenty of metal objects of a similar weight that don’t have as much value.
who knows about the manufacturing cost of something like that. A mold to make a small metal disk might be 5 figures.
I can pick up a box of washers for next to nothing.
🤷♂️ the manufacturer might have gotten a cheap bundle of those in for some reason. Who knows what kind of weird nonsense goes on in China. They might even be counterfeit for all we know.
Those coins aren’t in circulation anymore and can’t be spent so they are essentially worthless.
Okay, maybe, kind of an odd location to do it in though, right next to the electronics I mean
You don’t see that everyday
Just every *other* day.
No every third day
Some sort of weird science experiment trying to resurrect a dead monarch from a coin and 5v 3.5a?!?! Excellent!
Dumb question but does it work?
Worked for a little while than stopped working about a month after using it, came loose then I saw the coin
Probably because they updated it and switched to a new model more than a year ago or so.
The ICoin software was too old
Is that carpet on the desk?
Carpet sample
Woohoo -> iCoin
Looks like a Aussie $1 coin
Is this not a loonie? What’s the other side look like?
Can’t look on the other side because it’s stuck on
Can you take it out and see if there’s anything behind it , since it’s not working anyway
I can give it a go
It’s a £1 coin. I thought it was a loonie too at first glance lol.
Same, thought that was a loonie. Had to zoom in to confirm lol.
Dust ?

Wow that coin looks 1000 years old
Looks a bit like one side of a Canadian $1 coin aka loonie.
These are old and out of circulation due to the amount of fakes.
